Windows. Viruses. Laptops. Internet. Office. Utilities. Drivers

Hello everyone, today we will talk about something unusual, new for me and simply cool. This is exactly how I can describe Google Chrome Canary, because it is the Chrome browser, but not simple, but golden, well, in a sense, it really is. So, Google Chrome Canary is a special version of Chrome and is distinguished by the fact that all the bells and whistles are already built into it, this version of Chrome is faster than the usual one, and in general is so good that I myself will soon completely switch to Google Chrome Canary. In principle, I advise you too, but everyone has different tastes, so what’s the matter here, I won’t convince anyone of the coolness of the Canary version

It’s so hard to understand, but the Google Chrome Canary version works for me generally faster than all browsers. I installed this version for my mother, but she doesn’t have a powerful computer, so what did you think? There, this version also showed itself to be faster than even the Pale Moon browser, I thought that this was the fastest browser in the world, but I’m already starting to doubt it.. By the way, I wrote about Pale Moon here, so you can take a look.

I don’t remember how, but I found out about Google Chrome Canary by accident and decided to try it, and that’s it, I realized that this is the best thing I’ve seen in the world of browsers. In general, look, I launched Chrome Canary and this is what it looks like:

Well, that is, as you can see, there is almost no difference, or rather it is not even visible at all, ordinary Chrome. But it is there. What? I didn’t really look into it, it was enough for me that the Canary version actually works faster than regular Chrome. But nevertheless, if you open the main menu and click Settings there (or just go to an address like chrome://settings/):

Then we will see the settings in a newer design:

The design is not bad, but it feels like Google is trying to pull us closer to itself, so to speak, because the design is very similar to the design that is used in some Google services. Basically, I can't say it's bad

I didn’t see anything special in the settings compared to regular Chrome, I only noticed the difference when I started using it, then I realized that Canary’s feature is its speed.

Yeah guys, but here I was a little confused with the information, and I didn’t really understand it myself... In short, I thought that the Canary version was like a new version of the browser, generally new, so to speak, in a global format. But it turns out that no, this version was back in 2012, so what’s so funny about what kind of version of Google Chrome Canary is this? This means that it turns out that this is a special version where new browser features are tested and this version is not recommended for constant work, because it seems to be an unstable version. Well, what can I say? I didn’t know this guys.. And yet everything works stably and normally for me, there are no glitches, and it works stably for my mother too! But since new features are being tested here, it’s now clear why the Canary version is faster than regular Chrome, because everything is new here, Canary will always be faster

So here's the thing guys, it turns out that the Canary version already existed in 2012, but I only noticed it in 2016.. It's a pity that I didn't notice it before..

That's how it is guys. Well, it seems that I wrote all that is needed. I hope that everything was clear to you here, and if something is wrong, then you will excuse me. Good luck in life and may everything go well

Guys, important information has emerged here, and I have to write to you about it. In short, guys, it’s a little unpleasant, but I switched to just Google Chrome, and not to the Canary version. You might be thinking, why? Well, I’m telling you. I installed Canary, launch it and it... closes! So I launched it and it immediately closed! I installed this version in a virtual computer, the same thing happened there, my mother, who also had the Canary version, then I launched it, and it also disappeared. Well, it’s just that the Canary version, like Google Chrome, is updated automatically, what I’m saying is that Canary used to work fine for my mother, but now it’s such a glitch. Well, in the new version they screwed something up, introduced something, and that’s why it turned out to be such a glitch. What kind of chaos do you think? No, there is no chaos, Canary is a version primarily for testing! But I just didn’t have any glitches before, so I thought that there wouldn’t be any...

In short, guys, I decided not to risk it and switched to Google Chrome, it seems to be just as fast, it doesn’t even seem to make a difference, or it seems to me... It’s just important for me that the browser works stably, and not that the browser itself was updated today and what - there's a new glitch in it... It's a pity, I liked Canary, it seems to be a little faster. But I choose stability. These are the pies guys, good luck to you!

Hello, dear readers of the blog site. The most commonly used program on any computer is . And the most popular of them at the moment is Google Chrome ( download and install it is available for free from the official website).

During the short period of its existence, it literally burst into the hearts of Internet users and has now been installed and used for approximately on 56% of all computers in the world. A phenomenal result, if you think about it. True, not all Google products are so successful; for example, during the same time it never launched.

Thanks to this onslaught of Google Chrome, Firefox (only 12%) and (all versions of which also gain no more than 12% of the market share) were very much squeezed out. Opera is generally content with one percent.

At the same time, the Google browser is really doomed to success. It is very convenient, functional and stable. A huge number of extensions are released for it. Its development is being carried out by what is called “the whole world” (the guinea pig is ) and at the moment all the most advanced technologies are concentrated in it. Today I’m going to talk about what’s hidden under the hood of this sports car from the world of the Internet.

Where to download Chrome and how to install it without problems

So, I, of course, understand that most likely you already have this browser installed, but still. Download and install Google Chrome the latest version is possible and necessary only from the official website. Downloading it from other sites is dangerous, because you can get a virus with varying degrees of probability.

The site itself will determine your operating system and offer for download exactly the version of the distribution that is ideal for you. In the dialog box that opens, you will need to click on the “Accept the terms and install” button, but you can first save the distribution and install it later.

I can’t ignore it completely novice PC and Internet users. There is an excellent video about how to download and install this program, how to make Chrome the default browser, etc. Everything is shown in great detail.

Possible installation problems

Usually the installation proceeds without complications, unless, for example, there is simply not enough space on Drive C, selected by default for installation, or the installer file refuses to run due to the fact that you do not have administrator rights.

In the first case, you will have to clean Disk C from garbage (temporary files, etc.), because it is impossible to select another disk for installation (the installer simply does not create such a dialog - everything happens fully automatically). Clean up plenty of space, because temporary files of Chrome itself will also take up a lot of space.

In the second case, everything is not so complicated. Simply run the ChromeSetup.exe installer file as an administrator by right-clicking on it and selecting the appropriate menu item:

Well, you may still not be able to install it due to incorrect removal of the previously installed version of this browser (you will have to clean the system of tails with something like a syscleaner). Likewise, the operation of antiviruses can have a negative effect (temporarily disable them only if the distribution kit was downloaded from the official site), or, on the contrary, existing viruses can block the installation (clean the computer from the virus, or restore the OS from the image).

At this point, you can forget about the official Chrome website, because this browser downloads updates independently(along with it, Google Update will be installed on your computer and will be loaded along with the OS startup) and make sure that your version is not outdated. Although, you can always verify this by looking at the current version number of your browser.

Mobile version of the browser and updates

Although no, you can go straight from there download mobile versions of Google browser, or rather, go to the pages for installing them on your iPhone, Android or iPad (and they all start with A, as if there are no other letters).

If you already have Chrome installed, make sure that you have the latest version, it will be possible in the settings, which are all hung on one single button (with the image of three dots located vertically), located in the upper right corner of the browser window:

To view the current version you will need to select from the dropdown list "About the Google Chrome browser":

In the screenshot above, there is a situation when the latest current version of the browser is used. Well, otherwise you... Although now there are practically no situations when this may be required (unless you yourself disable the installation of updates for some reason).

10 reasons to use Chrome as your default browser

As I said above, a lot of people are developing this program (mostly on a voluntary basis, i.e. for the soul) and it even got its name from a development that appeared a little earlier called Chromium.

Chrome is a fast browser that never lags

The Chromium project itself is based on the fastest free engine (it also powers the vast majority of second-tier browsers - , Opera and a number of others), and a very fast JavaScript processor was also written for it from scratch.

Besides being tall and noticeable even to the eye operating speed(especially noticeable when), Google Chrome compares favorably with other analogues in its initial focus on ensuring maximum security when working with it.

I'm not a programmer, but immediately after starting to use it I noticed that each tab and extension in this browser generates its own separate process, they can be seen in the Windows taskbar (I like to work with a bunch of open tabs):

Thus, the Google Chrome developers decided to kill two birds with one stone. Firstly, if the process of one of the tabs freezes, this will not in any way affect the performance of the others. The result is very high freeze resistance and failures. True, it eats up RAM mercilessly, but this is a disease of almost all reviewers.

Moreover, tab processes are assigned the lowest possible priority - destructive codes in tabs will not be able to read or write any of their information, ensuring the highest possible security for working with the browser. Also, Chrome extensions use separate processes, which will not allow them to drop the entire program.

Secondly, dedicating a separate process to each tab allows you to make the most of the capabilities of modern multi-core processors. As you know, parallelizing threads is difficult, but individual processes can easily be distributed among different processor cores, which makes Google Chrome one of the fastest browsers on the planet (it used to be Opera).

By the way, it is precisely in connection with this that this reviewer has your own task manager(called by simultaneously pressing Shift+Esc), which allows you to see the load on the processor and network that a particular tab or extension of this browser creates:

In addition, you will have the opportunity terminate any hung process, created by Chrome (or an extension running in it), using the blue button shown in the screenshot.

There is a great video "5 Secret Chrome Features", where they use the built-in task manager of this browser to disable intensive processes, leaving, for example, only the one that is responsible for playing background music:

I now use Chrome as my main browser, both for surfing (after Opera changed the engine) and for working with sites through the admin panel, because it has a number of advantages, but the main one is the stability and preservation of information even when system collapse.

You can save all open tabs to a separate bookmarks folder

To do this, just press simultaneously Ctrl+Shift+D on the keyboard, and in the window that opens, just come up with a name for this folder (I add the date there to make it easier to navigate).

This is very convenient, for example, when you switch from one task to another. Save the current session (all open tabs), then close them all (for example, by right-clicking on any tab and selecting “Close other tabs”) and start a new session in a browser that is clean of unnecessary tabs.

If necessary return to a previously saved session, then open your bookmarks (the button in the upper right corner with two arrows), find the folder with the session (it will be at the very bottom, as a rule) and right-click on it. From the context menu, select one or three items that allow you to open all saved tabs at once (in the same window, in a new one or in Incognito mode):

A very convenient functionality that I also use to simply back up open tabs, which I haven’t gotten around to studying in detail yet.

Leader in the number of available extensions, applications and themes

Previously, the king of extensions was Mazila Firefox. This was his trick - a minimum of functionality in the engine itself to ensure its lightness and a maximum of functionality included in add-ons released to third-party developers.

But now, I think Chrom has significantly outnumbered Mazila extensions and applications offered for it.

In area "Downloads" I asked the browser to always show the save dialog, because downloading everything into one folder is not always convenient for me. By the way, when downloading, a download panel will appear at the bottom of the Google Chrome window with brief information about its progress and the ability to go to the folder with the downloaded file, which is quite clear and convenient.

Well, in the system settings you can force Google’s brainchild to close all background processes when closing the browser (you will save space in RAM, but you will lose the speed of reopening the browser), and you can also enable hardware acceleration.

Hidden settings (chrome://flags/)

In addition to those available through the menu, this browser also has hidden settings. You can get to them by entering the desired combination in the address bar. For example, chrome://about/ will show you a complete list of such secret combinations for the address bar.

By going through them you can learn something for yourself, but you shouldn’t change anything there thoughtlessly. The most interesting thing, in my opinion, is on the page chrome://flags/. What exactly can be changed is explained in this video:

In my opinion, these settings are quite necessary and if something goes wrong, you can always click the “Reset all to default” button, which cancels all the changes you have made.

Extensions and applications for Google Chrome

It is clear that Chrome, along with other Internet browsers, supports the installation of extensions, of which there are already a huge number for this miracle. Manage extensions you can on a separate tab.

You can get there:

  1. If in the browser settings discussed above, click on the “Settings” button located on the left, then at the very bottom of the menu that opens you will find the “Extensions” item.
  2. You can select “Additional tools” - “Extensions” from the drop-down menu of the icon with three dots (in the upper right corner of the browser).
  3. You can paste chrome://extensions/ into the address bar and press enter on your keyboard.

On the page that opens you will see everything extensions already installed in your browser. Here you can remove unnecessary extensions, or disable them temporarily by moving the slider.

If there is a need to install new extensions, then in the left drop-down menu at the very bottom you will find a link to Chroma online store. It has everything and even more.

Personally, I use not only SEO extensions, but also applications for all occasions. I have already written about some of them in the article, and most likely I will supplement this article with some new things.

As I wrote above, extensions, as a rule, add their icon to the area located immediately behind the address building (applications, like regular programs, are displayed on the taskbar of your OS):

Most of the extensions can be tune. To do this, you will need to right-click on its icon and select "Options" in the drop-down menu (you can also remove this extension there).

What exactly these settings will be depends on the extension. Some of them have no settings at all and the “Options” item is not active.

If you click on the extension icon with the left mouse button, then, as a rule, some additional parameters will be displayed. For example, my favorite RDS bar will tell the whole truth about the page opened in the browser, and User-Agent Switcher for Chrome will allow you to select the operating system to check the display of this page in it:

Which extensions should you install? Well, there are no advisers here. Just if any need arises, google the topic and, for sure, they will advise you on something. Do not forget that all these add-ons will hang in your computer’s RAM, and therefore those extensions that are not constantly used can be temporarily disabled in the settings (see how to do this above).

Good luck to you! See you soon on the pages of the blog site

Google Chrome is a product of one of the most powerful search engines, Google. The founding date of the corporation is considered to be 1998. Google's Chrome browser launched in 2008. Gaining its audience at a good pace, it is becoming one of the most popular browsers for computer and mobile devices. Now the number of its users numbers hundreds of millions of people. The browser is used on almost every second computer in the world. Let's take a closer look at what Chrome is, how to install it correctly and what capabilities it has.

Google Corporation. Start

Everyone knows that Google is, first of all, a search engine. Today, Google is a huge transnational corporation with offices in many countries, and the main one in the United States.

And it all started back in 1996. Two California students, Sergey Brin and Larry Page, were engaged in a research project designed to develop new technologies for a digital universal library. During the research, students studied the mathematical properties of the then existing World Wide Web. This is how their search robot was created, which found the necessary sites, offered a list of them, assessing, first of all, the importance of the information, and not the largest number of a certain word found on the site, as the then existing search engines did.

After that, investors were found for such a brainchild of students. The new search system, having undergone many improvements, began to very quickly win the hearts of users.

The birth of a new browser

What is "Chrome"? At first, the management of Google Corporation did not even think about creating a new browser, because the niche was already sufficiently filled. And frankly speaking, the creators of the powerful corporation were afraid of the resounding failure of the browser project. But, having powerful financial resources, they decided to try to sketch out a project and submit it to management. Oddly enough, it was approved - due to its simplicity, clarity and pleasant use.

In the fall of 2008, the first version of the Google Chrome browser was released for the Windows operating system. Thanks to the huge budget invested in the new brainchild, the browser quickly overcomes the path from unknown to very popular.

Google Chrome browser. What it is

The Chrome browser from Google is developed based on the free Chromium browser, which is the “father” of many existing browsers. The developers of the program decided to use the Webkit engine as the basis for its work, but in 2013 the Google Chrome browser switched to the Blink engine.

Now the Google Chrome browser positions itself as a simple, fast and secure software product. Of course, it proves this with its popularity, convenient, uncluttered interface, high level of security, which can be discussed separately, and many applications and extensions for every taste. It can also be noted that a browser like Chrome does not stand still, constantly improving its numerous services.

Advantages of the Chrome browser

Following the saying “Everything ingenious is simple,” Google Chrome has many advantages that have given it such popularity. Among them we can note fast page browsing and a minimalistic design in which nothing distracts from the web page.

If you would not like to view your browsing history after use, the “incognito” mode will ensure your privacy. Due to the fact that the search bar is combined with the address bar, there is no need to enter the full site address. To synchronize user data, Google links this data with each other, storing it on a cloud server. If necessary, you can log into your account from any computer and access your bookmarks and necessary information. This handy feature comes in handy if the browser is removed.

Program failure control will not allow you to interrupt work at the wrong time. Also pleasing is the browser’s versatility for all operating systems. Many people probably know that Chrome is a browser that can be installed on any operating system and electronic device. To ensure the safety of its users, Google Chrome maintains a blacklist of malicious sites, and also notifies about a possible threat when going to a particular unknown page. This browser has many advantages, but the main thing about Chrome is its high speed.

Installation

Download the Google Chrome browser for free. The best way to do this is from the official page. Before downloading, make sure your device meets the system requirements. So, Windows for Chrome should start with version seven. The Intel Pentium processor must be fourth generation or later. To install Chrome on an Android mobile device, you must use a version of the operating system that cannot be earlier than Android 4.1. iOS system must start with 9 or later versions.

After the Chrome installation file has been downloaded for free, you must click the “Run” or “Save” button. Then, double-click the mouse to launch the saved installed file and use the Google Chrome browser.

Importing settings

If necessary, you can import user settings from other browsers into the installed Google Chrome browser, after which information such as the start page, browsing history, bookmarks, and account passwords will be available.

Before importing, you need to close all open browsers, launch Chrome, and in its upper right corner go to the settings menu, which is depicted as three vertical dots. Sequentially click “Bookmarks”, then “Import bookmarks and settings” and select the browser from which you want to import data. If the list provided does not contain the browser you need, you need to export the bookmarks from it to HTML format, and then select the “HTML file with bookmarks” option when importing into Chrome. When you click the "Import" button, all settings from the previous browser will be moved to Chrome.

Update

The Chrome browser updates automatically on reboot or in the background. But if it is always on, you can skip its update. To see if a newer version of Chrome is available, you need to pay attention to the color of the Google Chrome Settings and Controls menu indicator in the upper right corner of the screen. Green will mean that the new version was released about two days ago, orange - four days ago, red - seven days ago.

To update Chrome manually, you need to open the browser, go to the “Setting up and managing Google Chrome” menu, select the “Update Google Chrome” option (the absence of such an option means that the version of the browser is already new) and click “Restart”. All open windows and bookmarks in the browser will be saved and loaded automatically when you launch it again. The restart can be delayed by clicking the "Not Now" button.

Removal

If you need to remove the Chrome browser, you need to exit it and go to the control panel of your operating system (in the lower left corner). Then open “Options (Settings)”, select the “Applications” item, find “Google Chrome” and select the “Uninstall” action (for Windows 8 and 10). For Windows 7 or Vista, in Settings, select Control Panel, then go to Uninstall a program or Programs and Features. Double-click on Google Chrome. The browser will be removed by clicking the "Delete" button.

To clear your profile data, you must click “Also delete browsing data.” But if you synchronize your data and sign back into your Google account, some of your information will be available because it is stored on the Google server. To clear everything completely, you need to clear the history. You can do this by going to the “Customize and manage Google Chrome” menu, then select “More tools”, and then “Delete browsing data”. After specifying the required time range, check the boxes for the type of information you want to delete, then click “Clear history.”

Applications and extensions

The Chrome browser from Google offers a lot of different extensions, plugins and applications for users, both paid and free. In fact, thanks to extensions for every taste, you can design the Chrome browser to suit you. You can find the required application or extension in the official online store.

If extensions are the addition and improvement of browser functions, then applications are separate programs that run directly in the browser.

How to add or remove an application or extension

To add extensions or add-ons to the Chrome browser, you need to select “Extensions” or “Applications” in the Chrome online store in the left column. Then select what you need from the catalog that opens, and you can use the search. An “Install” button will appear next to the position of the desired application or extension. If you add an extension, you need to check what data it will have access to, then click “Install extension”. After this, the installed Chrome applications will appear on the launcher, and the extensions that appear can be seen as buttons on the Chrome toolbar.

To remove an unnecessary extension, you need to go to the “Customize and manage Google Chrome” menu, then select the “Additional tools” item and from there - “Extensions”. In the list that opens, select the extension to be removed and click on the “Remove from Chrome” button, then click “Delete” again. The application can be removed from the "Toolbar" on the desktop.

Useful extensions and applications

Those who keep up with the times have long been using convenient and useful extensions and applications in their browser. Their functionality can be varied - from work assistants to games and entertainment. Let's look at some interesting extensions and applications from Google Chrome:

DataSaver is your faithful assistant in saving traffic. It has the function of compressing downloaded pages, text and images. Very convenient for mobile devices. It is already built-in in versions for Android or iOS (“Settings” - “Traffic saving”).

Quick Notes is a notepad that pops up online as a window at your request. Helps you instantly write down a thought that came to you on any page on the Internet.

XTranslate - this extension will provide instant translation of both individual words and entire web pages, you just need to select the required text.

Gmail Offline - allows you to work with mail in the absence of the Internet. True, it is still necessary to receive and send letters. But you can type the answer slowly.

Save to Pocket - will save the web page for later reading, while clearing advertising and unnecessary elements, leaving only text and images. The page will be saved in the cache and will be accessible even without the Internet.

Finally

So what is Chrome? This is a modern and useful browser. The review of popular applications and extensions for it can be continued ad infinitum. However, it's up to you to decide which app or extension you need. A large selection, their diversity and accessibility for the Google Chrome browser makes our lives easier and brighter, helps in work, study, or allows us to pass the time with gaming applications.

Hello, dear readers of the blog for dummies xn--e1adkpj5f.xn--p1ai. Today we will answer the question: "What is Google Chrome?" and “Where can I download Google Chrome for free?”
So, Google Chrome is a program for viewing web pages, otherwise it is also called a browser, browser or navigator.

In general, a browser is included in any Microsoft operating system and it is called Internet Explorer, sometimes abbreviated to IE. Personally, I almost never use the Internet Explorer browser. There are a number of reasons for this:

  1. The Internet Explorer browser is integrated into the operating system i.e. Some files necessary for the browser to work are also used for the operation of the operating system. For this reason, a browser freeze can cause the entire system to freeze.
  2. Most viruses are written specifically for Internet Explorer, which naturally negatively affects the security of the computer.
  3. No matter how the developers of Internet Explorer claim that it began to work super fast, it seems to me that it was still inferior to other browsers in terms of speed.

So, I don't recommend using Internet Explorer, but the Google Chrome browser is worth a closer look. As you understand, it was developed by programmers from Google and can be installed by following this link. Once on the page, simply click the “Accept the terms and install” button. After this, the files will begin downloading and the following window will appear:

As a matter of fact, you will just have to wait until the Google Chrome browser is installed. After installation, the browser will launch:

Well, actually, tell the browser and the browser, and of course you will be right. What kind of features and browsers are there? Google Chrome? Of course there are a couple of tricks. For example, a theme gallery, i.e. You can change the appearance of your browser using one of the following options in the “?Google Chrome Theme Gallery” window:

As an experiment, I used the “Masyanya” theme, after which Google Chrome looked like this:

Another interesting feature of the browser is that the address bar can be used as a search engine field, i.e. instead of the website address, you can write in Russian “President Medvedev’s website” and in a moment you will receive search results.

The Internet is spreading so rapidly that there is probably not a single family left that cannot take advantage of the opportunities provided by the Global Network. Some users spend days on the Internet, others visit the network once a week, just to check their correspondence. Some users use the Internet only for work, others for entertainment.

When working on the Internet, a user must have at least basic skills and knowledge. The ability to use the main tools for work - Internet browsers - is a fundamental factor; the efficiency of working with a web resource, the convenience and speed of obtaining and processing data depend on it.

In principle, an individual user does not need to know the intricacies of data exchange, the principle of operation of computer networks, but an ordinary user is required to perform ordinary actions, for example, enter a page address, delete browsing history, clear the cache in Chrome, make a bookmark. In addition, he must understand why all these actions are being carried out, and what will happen as a result of his actions.

Today, the information industry offers many browsers for surfing the Internet, but one of the fastest, most popular browsers is the Chrome browser, which was created by the Internet giant Google.

What is browser cache and what is it for?

Not every user knows that when he views web pages using the Chrome browser, however, as with any other browser, some information from any resource is automatically saved on the computer’s hard drive. This approach allows you to reduce page loading time by not downloading static elements (pictures, videos), but loading them from the user’s hard drive. This data is stored in special files called browser cache. From time to time, these files should be deleted, since when the cache is full, some elements may disappear from the pages being viewed and certain functions may not work. Therefore, the user must know how to clear the cache in Google Chrome. Naturally, these recommendations should be followed for any browser; the principle of clearing the cache in them differs only in the different names of the settings pages.

Each browser saves cache files in a special folder, which is determined by the developers of a particular browser. It is quite difficult for the user to find this folder, as it is located deep in the directory tree and often the user does not have rights to change it. Therefore, browser manufacturers have provided a certain procedure for clearing the cache.

How to clear cache in chrome

In order to clear the cache in Google Chrome, you should find the icon (icon) at the top of the toolbar that shows a wrench, and click on it once with the left mouse button. Then in the menu that appears, you need to select the “Tools” item, a submenu will open, there click on the “Clear browsing data” item. You will see a form in which you need to check the boxes for the data you want to clear. In our case, check the box next to “clear cache”. To execute the clear command, click “Clear browsing data.”

Your cache is now empty and ready to load data for the pages you viewed.
