World of Tanks is a legendary game that has not given up its leadership position in the gaming market for many years. Such success and mega popularity creates conditions for constant updating of mods. WoT players already have more than a thousand modifications for full game functionality. But here the question arises: how to remove outdated mods and replace them with more advanced ones? This will be discussed further.
To understand the essence of the uninstallation process, you need to understand the classification of mods. There are two main groups - mods from Jove (various modpacks) and single mods. The modpack includes a set of all the necessary mods, which are grouped into a common folder. Single mods are installed chaotically and require a lot of time to remove.
To remove a group of mods from Jove, you need to find the unins1 folder in the main folder of the program installer. Click on the shortcut and confirm the Clear All prompt. The uninstallation process will start and all installed mods will be removed automatically. In this case, additional manual removal is not necessary. It is worth noting that when you run the installer again, it clears the game client of all previous outdated mods and installs it on a clean platform.
You can delete single mods, without the ability to delete them yourself, by going through the following folders: “Games” ― “World of Tanks” ― “res mods” ― “Delete”. However, using the same method, you can clear the game from Job’s mods if problems arise with the uninstallation wizard.
Any operating system has a built-in “Add or Remove Programs” service. When you open this program, you will see a list of applications available for removal. All you have to do is select the desired folder and click “Delete”. Unfortunately, uninstallation is only possible for mods from Jove. Small installation modes cannot be removed using this method.
You can get rid of unnecessary, outdated programs by using the CCleaner utility. To do this, you will need to download this program and install it. Once launched, CCleaner will scan your computer and provide a list of folders to delete. The utility detects programs installed by an automatic installer, but for mods with manual installation this option is not possible.
A variety of modifications for World of Tanksres help make the game more interesting and colorful. But excessive “cluttering” of the game with unnecessary applications can significantly spoil the gameplay, so you should regularly remove unnecessary mods.

When installing a mod, a “res_mods 8.8” directory is automatically created in the game directory. It stores all files with additional materials.

If a file or folder cannot be deleted for some reason, use the Unlocker program.
This free utility will help you unlock any file and then send it to the trash or completely delete it from the system. This program also has a portable version that runs without prior installation. 
Do not erase the “res_mods 8.8” folder itself. This method helps with deleting Denver, but in this case it may result in you no longer being able to launch WoT. You will have to uninstall and then reinstall the client for the game to work correctly.
The most radical method for removing mods from Jove is to uninstall the client itself, clean the registry using CCleaner, and then reinstall the game.
You can also use programs that help you completely remove the game from your computer - Revo Uninstaller or Uninstall Tool. They operate on the same principle, finding and erasing all application executable files.

This is especially true for all kinds of mod assemblies, the so-called modpacks. If something went wrong during deletion or the desired mod was deleted, then simply restore the res_mods folder. To do this, delete it in the game folder and copy the backup one there. After this procedure, everything will return to its original state and you can try again to remove unnecessary modifications.
In this case, you can also make a backup if you suddenly want to return the mods to their place. But if the decision to remove modifications is firm, then you don’t have to bother with backups, but immediately begin actions to destroy folders with mods.
Thus, all mods will be completely and completely removed.
