Continuing the topic with browsers, today we’ll talk about how to set a password for the Yandex browser. As in the previous example with the Google Chrome browser, when you launch the browser, you will need to enter a password to continue working.
The special extension “Set password for your browser” will help us with this. Open the browser, click on the three-bar icon in the upper right corner and select “Add-ons”. On the tab that opens, go to the very bottom and go to the “Catalog of add-ons for Yandex.Browser”.
A directory will open in which you need to find an extension called Set password for your browser. This can be done through the search form in the upper right corner.
Add this extension to your browser using the "Add to Yandex.Browser" button.
After installation, a window will appear in which you need to set a password to log into the browser. Enter your password and click the "Ok" button.
If the browser is loaded in the background, then it must be additionally closed in the tray. In the lower right corner, click on the Yandex Browser icon with the right mouse button and uncheck the background mode.
After you are sure that the browser is not loading in the background, launch it again. When you open it, a window should appear asking you to enter a password. Without entering the password, further work will be impossible. If the password is entered incorrectly, the browser will be closed automatically.

Well, now let's close Google Chrome and log into it again. Look, we now have a window where you need to enter the code you created earlier. And if we click on any place other than this window, Google Chrome will automatically close.

I won't say anything new here. To set a password for the Yandex browser, we will again have to use the add-on. But we won’t reinvent the wheel; you can use exactly the same method as in the case of Opera.

In LockPW, you must then click the button to block the browser. For the protection to function, you must come up with a strong password. Since it is quite difficult to do this on your own, it is better to use one of the many password generators, which will allow you to fully automate the creation of optimal codewords.
The second application is much easier to configure. Immediately after installation, it prompts you to set the desired combination of characters as a password that will be requested upon startup.
However, in the second case there is a small problem that can compromise data security. The fact is that the second extension does not work if the browser is running in the background and is not completely closed. To prevent outsiders from accessing the program, you will need to select the Yandex icon in the tray, right-click and disable the permission to work in background mode in the pop-up menu.
Comparing both applications, it should be noted that the first option has a lot of settings and provides a noticeably higher level of security, while the second is much easier to configure.
