Even modern gadgets at high level technology developments may fail. There are often cases when your smartphone simply does not want to turn on. Many people fall into a stupor and don’t even know what to do if their phone doesn’t turn on. We will present the most common causes of this failure, as well as possible solutions.

Why it doesn’t turn on and how to solve it

In most cases, the problem is related to the gadget's battery. A less common option is problems with the operating system. Before taking your device to a service center and preparing money for repairs, we recommend taking a few independent steps to identify the problem. The problem may be trivial, which you can solve without outside help.

Battery faults

There are several reasons why your phone won't turn on. Perhaps the battery is simply dead and charging is not having any effect. This is the most popular problem, but there may be several reasons:

  • Another reason why Android won’t turn on is that the power button is broken. If you have new smartphone, then it could be a marriage. Then take it back and exchange it for a new copy. Otherwise, you will have to contact a workshop, where they will replace the button for money if the problem really lies there.
  • The worst case scenario is that the power controller on the phone has burned out. It is he who is responsible for the charging process of the gadget. The only way out is to take the phone to a service center and then have it replaced.

As you can see, users can solve most problems on their own if the phone does not turn on. To extend the life of the battery, do not frequently discharge the gadget to zero, but use only certified chargers from the manufacturer.

Memory card

The problem may be that you inserted an SD card into the gadget that the smartphone does not support. This may lead to failures in the program code and impossibility of inclusion. How to turn on the gadget? Just slide out the wrong memory card. If it still does not activate, you may have to reflash your smartphone.

Beforehand, always read the specifications which memory cards your mobile device supports and up to what capacity. You can also get advice from mobile showroom sellers.

Incorrect system update

Some smartphones, after updating to a more recent firmware, turn into , which will no longer turn on using the usual method. The solution may be to restore to factory settings. This can be done using . To enter it, follow these steps:
  1. Hold down the "Volume Up" key.
  2. Without releasing it, hold down the Home key.
  3. At the same time, press the third “Power” key.

On some smartphones, the transition is carried out by pressing “+.- volume” and the “Power” button. Using the volume keys, you need to move the slider to the line “Wipe data/factory reset”, and then confirm your choice by clicking “Yes - delete all user data”.

You will be able to clear the cash and data section. But be careful as all personal data (photos, contacts, videos and apps) will be lost. If there is something important on your phone, contact the service center.

This is relevant if loading your phone hangs at the “Android” icon. This also indicates that the firmware is not working correctly. On some devices there is a special button that can only be pressed with a needle or toothpick.

Viruses

If your phone won't boot, there may be files operating system have been damaged by some virus. Here you will need to reflash the phone. In some service centers specialists will be able to restore the phone’s functionality by cleaning it from viruses. To avoid such situations, we recommend downloading applications only from the official Play Store and installing an antivirus. You can choose ESET or Dr.Web for mobile devices.

Teach! Explay Power And Explay Power Bank - that's two different phones, the first was produced earlier, but is now discontinued, and the second, on this moment, is produced and supplied to stores. But, settings engineering menu, they are similar, and the login code is the same.

And, in principle, the basic settings described in this article may be suitable for many Chinese phones.

It took two days and two sleepless nights to write this article and tinker with the settings; the phone was reflashed twice (plus twice unsuccessfully using the MultiPort program)...

Using this menu, you can increase or decrease the volume during a conversation, increase or decrease the maximum volume of the call, audio player, key sound, configure the battery, enable automatic recording of conversations, and much more.
Code to enter the engineering menu: *39*3646#

ATTENTION!

There are known cases of complete failure of Explay Power phones after " playful crooked hands", which " they pressed something there" and after that the phone completely stopped turning on and working, sometimes it even becomes impossible to reflash it and all that remains is to take it to the service center, and this is nerves + time + money, and no guarantees from the service center.
Do not change unfamiliar settings if you are not sure!

YOU ONLY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ALL ACTIONS WITH YOUR PHONE!

Although the Explay Power phone has been discontinued ( it's a pity! The flashlight turns on conveniently, regardless of the battery charge and whether the phone is turned on), but was not that expensive ( 1950 rubles about a year ago), so you can experiment in principle, if you don’t mind...
But I did NOT have any special irreparable problems, so see for yourself.

If the phone still does not turn on after these manipulations, or other problems arise serious problems, then try to reflash it again according to these instructions on the forum forum.explays.ru, this will reset the engineering menu settings, BUT, for this, in the settings FlashTool you will have to check the box " Format Fat" (third tick), which will lead to IMEI RESET , which we don't need.

And you can restore it only from a previously made backup, but at the same time, the engineering menu settings will be restored again - a vicious circle...

All SMS in the phone are also deleted and the phone memory is erased ( although the memory there is... 145 kilobytes, but still, I store a beautiful desktop background in it, so that if there are problems with the flash drive, the standard background is not installed - I recommend doing the same).

To do this, first remove the SIM cards, and preferably the flash drive. Find this item in your phone settings menu, select " Restore everything", enter the phone code ( default 0000), and all settings will be reset, as well as SMS, the contents of the phone memory, contacts in the phone memory - all this will be deleted again, but the IMEI will remain the same, which is what we need.

And before any actions with the phone, MAKE A BACKUP using the program FlashTool, instructions are also on the forum, follow the link above!

Regarding audio settings. Please note that in the Explay Power engineering menu, some values, for example for the parameters " Volume" and others, you cannot enter using the numeric keypad, only with the joystick - the " key Up" And " Down".

Accordingly, if you start changing the number from " 0 "the numbers will be even if you scroll down the opposite way from 255 , then the numbers will be odd - it’s not scary.
If you see a value here, for example " 123 ", but it’s only possible to set 124 or 122 , 120 , or vice versa, then it’s okay - choose the closest value.

Or you can be perverted - “scroll” to zero or 255 , and then back to the desired value, but doing so is pointless. Plus minus 1 -2 It won’t play a role here, especially since I just came up with these values out of the blue, by trial and error, maybe I made a mistake somewhere, but I’m happy with everything about the phone’s operation ( Almost all).

Apply settings in the engineering menu: enter a new value (or all values within one item), press " SET", go back a couple of points using the " key Back", then the phone will ask: Update Parameter?- click " Yes", and after that we either exit the menu completely or continue setting up.

Akhtung! After some settings, the phone may need to reboot ( turn off and on), but in the case of audio settings, in the vast majority of cases this is not necessary.
Just after turning on the phone again, the phone may malfunction, it is better to check this by calling it and using an audio player.

And further: " Max analog gain" And " step" V " 16 Level Setting" - is always the same for all parameters in the current mode: microphone, radio, speaker, etc., it is enough to change it once in any of the points of each mode. It affects the sixteen-level volume control, and, in fact, the overall volume of all ( or almost everyone, this is where I’m a little unclear myself) points of each of the three modes.

Don't be confused!

Black font, next to the names of the parameters - the new values that I set when setting up the phone are indicated.

[Blue font in square brackets] - standard parameter values are indicated, which are set immediately after flashing Explay Power with the firmware version 1.03 .

Go!

Open the engineering menu in Explay Power, to do this we type on the keyboard *39*3646# , and here first let's select the item " Audio" - audio settings:

Set Mode- selects the current mode for tests, you can leave it alone, it’s almost a useless thing.

Normal Mode (normal mode, here you can adjust the volume of the call without a headset and withoutspeakerphone, i.e. via front speaker, key volume, sensitivitymicrophone, etc.):
---
FIR (Explay Power owners write on the Internet that you need to set the value " 2 " or " 3 ", Thisimproves the audibility of the interlocutor during a conversation and increases the quality of the voice in general - II personally didn’t notice any obvious changes, but just in case I changed it to " 2 " - it's worsedefinitely gone): 2 (Was : 0 )

Step : 4

---
FM Radio (the volume of the FM radio, to be honest, I don’t understand in which mode - loudspeaker or normal, and I didn’t check (too lazy), where exactly the volume of the radio depends at this point, because 3 modes: ordinary, speaker And headset, but the radio can only be played " into the speaker" And " into the earphone", why then the third mode? But just in case, I changed it, and logically it is this normal mode that should influence playback through the speaker):
Volume 0: 16

Volume 6: 4

16 Level Setting
Max analog gain: 200

Step : 4

---
Melody (the volume of music playback in the player, while the sound at full volume is a little wheezing, but it is loud, but I highly recommend turning the player volume all the way up, this drains the battery very quickly, and accordingly reduces its service life faster, but it is loud, a little bit of a couple of tracks is sometimes possible, and on quiet tracks it will be especially useful to turn it up louder):
Volume 0:4

Side Tone(as usual, we don’t change): 0

We're done with the audio settings, let's go back.

Next there is a point: Ring Tone.
It can be used to listen to the sound of standard melodies directly from the engineering menu to understand how much we adjusted the volume ( they wheeze they don't wheeze), you can try after the change current mode in the first paragraph Set Mode, but it’s best to exit the engineering menu after all the changes and try to check everything “live” - call the phone, open the player, before doing this it is advisable to turn off and turn on the phone, because sometimes it starts to fail just after the next reboot - it was I had this happen once with these settings, everything seems to be fine, but when there is an incoming call at any volume, the melody wheezes and “like a pipe.” Only flashing Power helped, now after flashing with the same audio calibrations - everything is in order.
---
Speech Enhancement: we don’t touch it, this dregs are still the same, it’s not clear how and what, on the forums they write that at this point they change the properties of the DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) of the phone, but we don’t need it.

But, however, I still risked changing one parameter from there. As Explay Power owners everywhere write on the forums, you can change one parameter - and the voice of the interlocutor during a conversation becomes clearer and more intelligible.

Others say that it increases high frequencies when speaking, which has a very good effect on voice intelligibility. I personally didn’t notice anything like that, but just in case I changed it, maybe it’s really better this way, but not worse - which is the most important thing

Opening Speech Enhancement> choose Normal Mode> choose Parameter 6 it should be equal to " 400 ", change this value to " 1 " and press OK.
And I changed a bunch of parameters in the sixth parameter with 400 on 1 also in Headset And LoudSP mode, and everything seems to be fine.
We leave from Speech Enhancement.
---
Next we see the parameter Max Swing which is somehow connected with vibration during calls (and SMS or something). And as soon as I didn’t change it, there was no difference. So we don’t touch it, it’s equal 12800 , let it be.
---
Next point Debug Info- something related to debugging, don’t go there.
---
And the last item in the audio parameters - Auto Record Setting.
There are settings for automatic recording of conversations, this is a useful thing, it quietly records all conversations on the memory card in the folder " Audio"But why the hell is this function hidden in the engineering menu, and why is it not in the phone menu Explay Power- unclear. Well, okay, the main thing is that there is.
There are two parameters:
VM Support : off [off]- when the option is enabled, the voice recorder has the ability to record conversations other than formats AMR And WAW also in the format V.M.. What kind of format this is - it’s not clear to me, the phone can easily reproduce such recordings, but how can I reproduce this format on a computer *. V.M., or convert, it’s also not clear to me. That's why I didn't turn it on, let the recorder write better in WAV high quality, there is still a lot of space on the flash drive.

And actually the second parameter Auto Speech Record [off]- turns on or off automatic recording of all conversations.

Everything is on audio. After changing all the parameters, do not forget to go back a couple of points so that the settings are saved, and double-check them and then go to the engineering menu, in case something was not saved, or you forgot to change something - this happens.

This applies not only to audio properties, but also to all changes you make in the engineering menu.

What else is in the engineering menu Explay Power:
Network Setting- don't touch
GPRS Act- we don’t touch the tests either
Debug Info- we are also not interested in it
Bluetooth- there are some tests here, it’s better not to go there

There are two points left: " Misc." And " Device", these are the ones that interest us.
Let's start with something simple:

Misc.- by selecting this item, 5 parameters appear on the screen:
---
Auto Answer: off [off] (automatic reception of a call after a few seconds when the headset is connected, turn it off, not convenient)
---
RAM Test- when pressed, it tests some memory, there is no need to touch this item
---
Memory Dump : off [off]- something is leaking somewhere ( memory), we don’t need it either, we don’t turn it on
---
Internet Application (the item has parameters, they relate to the built-in browser andMMS client, they set headers that are sent to opened sites on the Internet, through the built-in browser, for example, this phone can be detected by sites as Nokia N93. all the settings can be changed - but there is no point in it - and even no show-off):
> User Agent : default (the header by which sites will determine the phone model, the default header, the sites, as I understand it, do not understand, and do not correctly identify the phone model as Explay Power, but you can install at least N72 - however, I repeat, this makes no sense)
> Accept Header : WAP 2.0 (header by which sites determine in what format the site page should be sent to the phone)
> MMS Version: MMS 1.0 (MMS version, I don’t know what this parameter affects, let it be 1.0)
---
Auto Test List- a list of tested phone nodes, I don’t really know when this test passes (maybe when it is turned on, but it is unlikely, it would then blink and fart every time it was turned on, but this does not happen), maybe after entering a special one. code or when connecting to certain Chinese equipment for tests - I don’t even know. There is NO need to go in there and change anything!
---
IN misc. There’s nothing more to configure, let’s go back.

And the last item in the Explay Power engineering menu: Device- there are many parameters here, but you can only touch some of them where I was fiddling around, THE REST DO NOT TOUCH, I don’t know why they are needed, I don’t touch them, and I don’t advise you!
I'll list everything:
---
LCD - fine tuning display - it’s better not to touch it, otherwise you won’t see anything on the screen!
---
GPIO- absolutely not to touch, I don’t know why it’s there
---
PWM- it’s also unclear, we don’t touch it
---
ADC- and here you can see the battery voltage, charger voltage, something similar to the level of current consumption, well, in general, useful information (especially for calibrating the battery in Set Default Level, more on that below).
---
Set Default Level- the item has 5 subparagraphs, 4 of which it is better not to touch:
This MainLCD Contrast, PWM 1, PWM 2 And PWM 3- We don’t touch them, we don’t need it.
---
IN Set Default Level fifth point:
Battary- which is responsible for battery levels, it has 10 parameters(levels), which, if I’m not mistaken, are responsible for the displayed battery charge level, and indicate to the phone when to turn off the power when charging ( P correct me if I'm wrong ), and as a result of decreasing the first two parameters, you can slightly increase the battery life of the phone, BUT THIS WILL DECREASE BATTERY LIFE Slightly SO YOU DECIDE FOR YOURSELF(and where to find a new battery for Explay Power now is unclear), I experimentally reduced the first two parameters, now the phone does not seem to turn off at the most inopportune moment:
LEV 1: 3250000 [ 3450000 ]
LEV 2: 3450000 [ 3500000 ]
LEV 3: 3550000 [ 3550000 ]
LEV 4: 3600000 [ 3600000 ]
LEV 5: 3650000 [ 3650000 ]
LEV 6: 3700000 [ 3700000 ]
LEV 7: 3850000 [ 3850000 ]
LEV 8: 4050000 [ 4050000 ]
LEV 9: 9999999 [ 9999999 ]
LEV 10: 9999999 [ 9999999 ]

Basically, as I understand it ( again, correct me if I'm wrong ) - these levels are equal to the battery voltage in volts.
That is, for example, 3250000 = 3.25 volts, and the current voltage can be viewed in ADC, I wrote about this above. According to the current settings, it turns out that the phone will not turn off until the battery is discharged to 3.25 volts, not until 3,45 as it was before with factory settings and after flashing, which will slightly extend one charge, and although the phone will beep, it will ring and should not turn off ( Explay Power does not have the function of outgoing calls turned off when the battery charge is critically low, it will call until its last breath, but the new Explay Power Bank has such a DISADVANTAGE - there is still a lot of charge, but you can no longer make calls, only incoming calls. What's the point? Therefore, I like the old Explay Power better, and this is not its only advantage compared to the “power bank”, the “bank” of course has its advantages - but for me they are not important, I am the owner of Explay Power - and as a “dialer” it is completely satisfactory my requirements ).

And also, theoretically, in a completely emergency situation, when you need to make a call, maybe ambulance call, or call somewhere else, if your phone turns off, you can try to turn it on ( although most likely you won’t be able to do this without recharging for at least half a minute) and quickly go into the engineering menu before it turns off, turn down the first level LEV 1, for example until 3150000 , 3100000 , or even immediately before 3000000 , and again, theoretically, you will have time to make a couple of calls - but this is a very extreme case, you should not do this, you can damage the phone.

After all, it is unknown how the phone will behave at such a low voltage (it’s like plugging a computer into a power socket without 220 volt, and volt 80 - will it turn on at this voltage? Will it glitch and lose data on the disk? Here..), but I turned it down just a little, and everything seems to work fine.
---
Set UART- here is the port setting. This item is responsible for detecting the phone by the computer when connected via a USB cable. When fiddling with the settings Set UART, there is a chance to disable the COM port that appears during the firmware, if you disable it and mess up with the engineer, you won’t be able to flash it and return your phone to work, that’s why I don’t go there.
---
Sleep Mode : Enable [ Enable]- we don’t change
---
DCM Mode : Enable [ Enable]- we don’t change
---
FM Radio- at this point the settings of the FM radio receiver, there is no point in changing them, for some reason they are not saved...
---
PMU register settings- we don’t touch, I don’t know what kind of registers these are.
---

Some of these parameters may be compatible with the new Explay Power Bank, but this is not a fact, since the processors, characteristics, and, in the end, the speakers are different.

That's all the engineering menu is, and it's okay if you don't go where you don't need to! The most important thing is sound and battery.

I made all the volume settings, albeit “by eye,” but they allow you to slightly increase the sound beyond the possible factory settings, for example, in the player, loud tracks will wheeze, and quiet ones will be played louder, which is what I wrote about earlier.

If I missed something important or made a mistake somewhere, after all, the article turned out to be relatively long, I could have mixed up or forgotten something - write about it in the comments to the article, your options and adjustments to my calibrations are also welcome.
