Problem solved

Advantages: 1) The body is made of polished steel and durable plastic (the model became the most durable phone of 2008), all main connectors are closed with rubber plugs. Very nice, high quality build. The phone is thin, fits comfortably in the hand, in a pocket, etc., then it is extremely convenient and looks very stylish, everyone wants to touch it 2) Yes, this model costs Symbian version 9.2. Not to say that the firmware is very advanced, but it works quickly and without failures. All phone operations, including applications, work instantly and do not freeze anywhere. 3) A very good battery, with active use (calls, SMS, ICQ, books, games) it lasts up to 3 days. 4) I liked the horizontal layout of the display; it’s more convenient to read books, watch videos and surf the Internet. In addition, the display is very bright and clear (compared with E51, N91, 5800, 3250 5) The keyboard is very convenient for typing (although I started spending more on SMS, because in 10 seconds you don’t notice how long text is being typed) great for ICQ, the interlocutor will not have to wait long for an answer. Before that, I had a 5800 - the keyboard there was much worse and less comfortable 6) A lot of free applications for any occasion and for any requirements (if you have problems with certificates, just turn off certificate checking in the application manager) I use a book reader, a video player, several toys (by the way, many games are at the Sega level, and do not freeze at all). A version of Office is already preinstalled with the ability to create and edit files, not only Word, but also Excel and Power Point. In general, with some upgrading it will become a replacement for a netbook 7) WIFI - it really helps to brighten up time in McDo, but it’s better to install a third-party browser, for example Opera 8) GPS (sorry, I would write more, but the moderator no longer allows it) Disadvantages: 1) The case gets dirty quickly, but if you wipe the back cover with a cloth, it will become a good replacement for a mirror 2) The keyboard does not fit tightly, there is a slight play - although this drawback is almost unnoticeable 3) The chrome paint on the joystick will begin to peel off after a short time (a problem with the entire previous E-series... It was corrected only on the E72, where the joystick is touch-sensitive, you don’t have to press it). So keep your nails trimmed and try to apply pressure with the pad of your finger. Perhaps this is its main drawback. 4) I have a “gray” model, and therefore it hangs a little, although very rarely. Buy “white”, with growth, and you won’t have this item. Comment: I've been using my phone for six months, and it helps me out everywhere. Judge for yourself: I read books, watch movies, take photographs and shoot videos (all in good quality for a phone), use ICQ, receive work and personal email in separate folders, GPS prevents me from getting lost, chat a lot, write SMS, open and edit Office -applications, play toys, exchange files via Bluetooth, and I literally find it all. At the same time, the phone is convenient and beautiful. You can do almost anything on it, a great workhorse. And in conclusion: I strongly do not recommend chasing the price and before purchasing, check whether the model has height. Without it, troubles with the firmware will definitely begin. You definitely don’t need it, believe me. PS: do not forget to update the firmware via Software Updater. From me the phone number is 5+

Advantages of the phone:

First of all, the QWERTY keyboard. Typing messages in ICQ is simple and pleasant. At first it’s a little inconvenient, but once you understand that in front of you is a regular computer keyboard, the typing speed increases sharply (Tip: press the buttons not with the pad of your finger, but with the very tip or side - this way there are fewer mistakes). Secondly, the camera. I use it to photograph assignments and schedules at a university - everything turns out clearly and readable - thanks to autofocus (button "2"). Well, the horizontal layout of the screen. Websites, books, photographs, films - now everything is human, like on a computer.

Disadvantages of the phone:

They have already been mentioned - the case is easily soiled (in the end it got on my fingers, fortunately it doesn’t interfere with use), the lack of stunting or plastic protection on sale (in the end I bought a protective film and covered the screen with it), and I carry the phone itself in a leather belt bag), The strap is not of the best quality (very comfortable, but after a couple of months it has already started to fray) and the headphones (do not fit very well in the ears). Well, you can also point out the disadvantages of having to get used to typing on the keyboard for several days, but, I want to say, after you get used to it (it only took me three days of everyday use), a regular telephone keyboard causes disgust, and those who use it feel sympathy.

Comment about the phone:

Overall, the model met expectations by 120%. In particular, I was pleased with the fairly powerful processor and large amount of RAM, which made it possible to comfortably use several programs at once. Speaking of software for smart phones. If you don’t install programs on your smart phone, why did you even buy it? I would like to name a few programs that you should definitely have: QIP PDA - multi-protocol IM client (ICQ, MAgent, Jabber...). Shows incoming messages with a flickering icon, on top of all open programs. Alon MP3 Dictaphone - the best voice recorder I've ever seen cCam - takes photos without sound (can't do video) CorePlayer - video player, can do mp4 (and more) ABBYY Lingvo x3 mobile - the best dictionary of foreign words ( Lingvo 12 will also work)Qreader - the best txt-book readerResco Viewer - a superb photo viewer, many times cooler than the standard one! (control on digital buttons, how to use - see at the end of the review) PowerMP3 - music player, pleasantly surprised me with a competent interface (supports changing skins), an abundance of functions and button settings on the headset (for example, it’s very convenient for me to switch to the next song in transport or on the go with a button). I also highly recommend.mConnection - Internet traffic counter. Not a fountain, but the best I could find. If you find a better one, let me know! FreeTimeSync - clock synchronization: with servers on the Internet, via GPS or via SMS (I haven’t tried this option). NiceCalc - Multifunctional and convenient calculator. Handy Profiles - Profile Manager. It is convenient to set the profile without sound for the duration of the couple, after which the mode that was before is turned on. Handy Clock is an excellent calendar, alarm clock, timer, stopwatch... But install version 4.05, because on the next ones, I didn’t find how to set the alarm volume (who knows - tell me?) As for toys, I advise you to play NOM, a very original thing!) And this advice: by double-clicking the half-shaded square in the lower corner, you will get a regular digital keyboard in the center, like other phones. This helps if a program or game does not respond to pressing seemingly correct keys. The mode is turned off by pressing the same key once. And one more thing: The language is switched with the combination Shift+Ctrl

In 2018, which will begin soon, the public will, of course, be delighted with many new powerful smartphones. But many users still prefer simple push-button phones. These users remember the Nokia brand, whose products were mass-produced before the era of touch devices. The Nokia E71 is likely to return next year. But in a new quality - a phone in the era of high-speed mobile Internet.

In 2017, the legendary Nokia brand returned to the smartphone industry and introduced a number of devices in this popular category of devices, including Nokia 3, Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 8. But the Nokia brand, still loved by many users, also released a new version of the incredibly popular Nokia 3310 feature phone in the past. Anvinraj Valiyathara on the resource pages playfuldroid.com a new message was reviewed news.mydrivers.com about another possible remake - another phone from among the most famous Nokia devices in the history of the mobile industry, which may be shown to the public after the New Year.

According to information that appeared on the Internet based on a “leak,” we may be talking about the Nokia E71 (2018). The phone will feature support for two SIM cards. Its software platform will likely be Kai OS. Thus, the device will not be a smartphone. The new product will be equipped with that design element that a number of users so lack in modern all-touch smartphones - a full-size physical QWERTY keyboard.

It is expected that Nokia E71 (2018) will be equipped with a 3.5-inch touch screen. It should be remembered that relatively recently, before the mass distribution of devices with large screens, this display size was considered quite sufficient for a smartphone. The display resolution of the yet to be presented Nokia E71 (2018) device will be 480p. The new product will be based on the Snapdragon 205 chipset. The RAM capacity of the Nokia E71 version, which may be released next year, will be 1 gigabyte. The capacity of the device’s built-in storage is 8 gigabytes. But the phone has a slot for microSD memory cards, which will expand the device’s storage capacity available to the user.

On the back panel of the Nokia E71 (2018) there will be a 3-megapixel camera. Many users will be pleased that the battery of the new smartphone will be removable. Additionally, it is also noted that the price of the new product will be “well below ~$150.”

Additionally, it is reported that a new push-button phone from the Nokia brand with support for 4G networks may debut in early 2018. The specific date for the announcement of Nokia E71 (2018) is currently unknown, even speculatively.

It is assumed that the new phone could debut simultaneously with the Nokia 9, the most anticipated device from the incredibly popular brand that returned to the smart phone market at the beginning of this year.

Previously by Shannon Liao on the resource pages theverge.com looked at the alleged Nokia 9 specifications, which are reportedly based on FCC data.

It is Nokia 9 that will be the smartphone that completes the lineup of Nokia devices, including budget models and the mid-range device Nokia 6 and the flagship Nokia 8.

Reportedly, the Nokia 9 smartphone will be equipped with a 5.5-inch OLED display. The screen manufacturer for Nokia 9 is LG. It should be noted that the display will be an important difference between the Nokia 9 and the previously debuted flagship device Nokia 8, which uses an IPS LCD screen.

The Nokia 9 hardware platform will be the flagship chipset of 2017 devices - Snapdragon 835. The capacity of the battery powering the device in Nokia 9 will be 3250 mAh.

On the back panel of Nokia 9 there will be a dual camera, in which a 12-megapixel sensor will be combined with a 13-megapixel one. However, dual cameras today are already common to many smart phones and not only to products belonging to the flagship category. The front panel of the new product will likely be equipped with a 5-megapixel selfie camera.

It is not known what the volume of RAM of the flagship smartphone from the Nokia brand in question will be, but the capacity of its built-in storage will probably be 128 gigabytes. The pre-installed software of the new smartphone will be based on the Android 8.0 Oreo operating system, introduced by search giant Google, which develops the most popular software platform for smartphones, in 2017.

Based on what previously appeared back in October 2017 in OnLeaks Based on the 3D rendering, users already have an idea of the Nokia 9 as a smartphone with a full-screen display, which has become one of the most noticeable industry trends in the final technological season of 2017. This render also shows the black back panel of the yet-to-be-unveiled smartphone and its blue sides.

pros

I have been using this smartphone for 10 years. During all this time, the battery was changed only 2 times, the last time in January 2018. The charge lasts from 5 to 7 days, the quality of photos and videos is quite acceptable, the sound quality is simply excellent (both in conversation and in music playback). There are no scratches on the screen to this day, although it is with me always and everywhere.

Minuses

A little heavy, but that's because the body is metal. The plugs were lost, but I didn’t look for them in stores (and it’s fine without them).

Impression

Of course, he looks very respectable, although he is no longer young. I can't part with it because of the sound quality and even because of the appearance.

pros

high-speed multifunctional smartphone in a practical metal case with a xenon flash and a 3.2 megapixel camera, and built-in GPS, easily reads an 8 GB flash card, excellent speakers, QWERTY keyboard

Minuses

QWERTY keyboard that takes some time to get used to (but if the layout is familiar to you, typing speed will increase significantly)

The buttons themselves are quite small, although I don’t have violin fingers either, the first week you can miss them, then there will be no problems

Impression

What can I say? Nokia and its products do not need advertising. It has long established itself in the mobile phone market and constantly pleases us with its products. Although some group of consumers remembered it for its “building blocks” and they remained indifferent to it. In general, I carried the notorious Motorola V3 with me, somehow everything suited me, and there was no money to upgrade! It so happened that I started working in a service center, as a manager for the wholesale trade of spare parts and components. My main responsibility was to monitor the leftovers and ensure that they did not run out, and accordingly analyze what would be quickly sorted out and what was worth ordering in a single copy. At the same time, very often I had to communicate with radio engineers by phone and look at the weak points of the phones in order to guess what would be in demand and earn money from it! At the same time, the situation obligated the purchase of some more respectable multifunctional phone. An employee of a meat processing plant will never buy these products, because he knows what is being put into the meat grinder. In the same way, I saw a lot of brand new, praised, advertised phones going under the soldering iron. And the multi-pixel camera and built-in GPS receiver did not save them. The policy of most companies is not to release a perfect mobile phone, leaving a flaw everywhere that will be corrected in the next generation of their phones, thereby ensuring sales. Apparently they made the e71 for themselves or they simply made a mistake and did not make any shortcomings. I tried everything possible, although being a supporter of minimalism and maximum practicality, my choice settled on the Nokia e71. There is no need to describe its characteristics, all this can be found on the Internet. I’ll just note what I especially liked: a high-speed multifunctional smartphone in a practical metal case with a xenon flash and a 3.2 megapixel camera, and built-in GPS, easily reads an 8 gigabyte flash card, excellent speakers, and a QWERTY keyboard. And most importantly, all the spare parts are of very good quality, securely fastened and have a long service life! Naturally, I use it and am not overjoyed, of course, everything I wrote can be considered biased and praised, but I have not yet seen this phone repaired!

One day, on a sunny, warm autumn day, I wanted a change. And technological ones. My mood took me to a phone store and pointed me to the smartphone of my dreams. I held it in my hands for the first time. As they say, a spark has jumped. And I decided that the moment had come - it was time to change my Nokia E61 to Nokia E71. I’m not one of those who fall for advertising bait and change the phone immediately after the release of a new model, but let’s face it, the new model is much better than the previous one. Of course, I re-read the reviews and testimonials. I didn’t buy it in a regular store (why pay more?), I ordered it from an online store and the very next day I received the smartphone of my dreams. But first, a few words about its predecessor, the old Nokia E61 So, the Nokia E61 in relation to the Nokia E71 is more like an older brother . So clumsy, hastily made, not fully thought out. The design especially shocked many, because the Nokia E61 looks more like an engineering calculator. Taking it out of your pocket (and it won’t fit in every pocket!) even among friends means raising a lot of questions, exclamations and jokes. “Piano-piano”, “shovel”, “calculator” - they called him all sorts of names. But meanwhile, the convenient QWERTY keyboard, due to which the phone has become wide, allows the owners of this smartphone to quickly and unambiguously communicate in instant messengers, enter reminders at the speed of sound, or type and edit fairly large texts. And now - about the younger brother, Nokia E71. In the box we found: the smartphone itself, battery, charger, instructions, micro USB cable, 2GB memory card, stylish leather case and strap. Appearance Yes, this phone can be seen in clothes, not making excuses, as was the case with the E61, “you don’t look at how ugly it is, but there’s so much in it.” E71 is much more elegant and beautiful than the previous one. It’s not a shame to take this gadget out of your pocket in polite company. Its huge software functionality is enclosed in a stylish case made of stainless steel and durable plastic. By the way, in 1.5 years of use I have not had any dents or scratches on it. Yes, I handled it quite carefully, but there were some falls. There is a nice engraving on the back panel. A special word about its dimensions. It is the thinnest smartphone ever. And the phone body also became narrower. The phone came with its own outerwear - a strict leather case. It's a small thing, but nice. True, after a year of use, the edges began to fray a little, but this did not spoil the overall appearance too much. Yes, its surface is shiny and fingerprints remain on it, and without constant wiping it does not look so beautiful... What can I say? Expensive toys require care! Ergonomics Compared to the E61, the keyboard has also become smaller. Yes, it still remains QWERTY. But it was sacrificed to the narrow body. The buttons have become much smaller than in previous models, they are located more densely, and the number of keys has decreased. The four letters of the Russian alphabet (“х”, “ъ”, “ж” and “е”) simply did not fit on the keyboard - they are accessible through the function button. This negatively affected the ergonomics of the keyboard. As a user who switched from E61 to E71, at first I was a little annoyed by these changes, but over time I began to get used to it. True, there are more typos and accidental touches of adjacent keys when using the E71, and I’m afraid you won’t be able to achieve such a dashing speed as on the E61. Display For the sake of the beauty of the case, the display also got its share: it became 2.36'' (the E61 had 2.8 "). The matrix, however, like its predecessor, is excellent in all respects. On sunny days, you can see almost everything on the screen due to the embedded mirror substrate. What's inside? The hardware didn't disappoint: the processor operates at 369 MHz. Its capabilities are sufficient in the vast majority of cases. It slows down only when several programs are intensively working with the Internet or when viewing sites rich in graphics and Flash animation. 128 MB of RAM allows you to run a virtually unlimited number of programs. In general, I was very pleased with the speed of the software part of the smartphone. Switching between programs, launching them, navigating through the menu - everything happens instantly. The smartphone is endowed with maximum functionality, there is compatibility with 4 GSM bands, 3 UMTS bands, support for HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth. Features Now documents can be edited (the office package has been expanded ) You can attach a photo or a voice recording to your notes. There is also an application for remote access to the network via VPN. Dictionary with loadable language modules. Program for Internet telephony. We were pleased with the separate buttons for calling up the calendar, address book and messages. Photomania The smartphone’s camera is quite average: 3.2 megapixels, there is an autofocus system on the subject. There is also an LED flash and a convenient mini-mirror that allows you to take pictures a la “Me and the Landmark”, that is, when photographing yourself, you can control whether your loved one gets into the frame. The phone screen is large, and using it as a viewfinder is very convenient , the camera application starts quickly. The quality of the photographs, of course, is incomparable to those of digital point-and-shoot cameras, much less DSLRs. But to capture something important in the absence of other shooting equipment, it will do. Well, like many phone cameras, there are the same problems: in the evening, at night and indoors, the pictures are taken with such noise that when viewing it is difficult to understand what you took. This means we shoot during the day and on the street. The battery is on fire! Yes, the new phone hides new capabilities. For example, the ability not to be tied to an outlet. The battery is simply excellent, with a capacity of 1500 mAh. If you do not use it intensively, then you can charge your pet on average once every 3 days, or with more frequent calls, using GPS, player, radio, camera - Internet, GPRS will discharge it once every 2 days. With active use of the smartphone (ICQ online 9 hours a day, listening to music via bluetooth stereo headset for 2-4 hours, reading books in Word format, calls and SMS correspondence), the battery only lasts for a day. Music lovers Although the phone is for business people , but there may also be music lovers among them. The sound in the standard player is not bad, it reproduces quite well, although there is no separate sound chip. But I don’t use it, it doesn’t seem convenient to me. Fortunately, you can install whatever player you want - an advantage of smartphones. The audio output is 2.5 mm in diameter; for those who want to listen to music through “normal” headphones, you will need an adapter. Despite the business focus of the phone, there is a built-in FM receiver. Internet addicts Regarding working with the Internet, this smartphone works with GPRS, EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi clearly and without glitches. The browser is much better than the E61, but far from ideal. The built-in email client seems to me not convenient and not well thought out, but these are minor things... So as not to get lost, one of the new products (compared to the E61) is the presence of GPS navigation. It is implemented in a classic way for Nokia - a built-in GPS receiver and the Nokia Maps application, although it is not as convenient for me as, for example, the GARMIN navigator. About firmware I do not recommend updating your phone's software from the Nokia website. New firmware often adds new “glitches”, tested many times. The most stable firmware is usually from the factory. Conclusions I've had my phone for a year and a half now. I think this is a good purchase in terms of price/quality/reliability/functionality/image.

Nokia E71 is more than a workaround for the previous QWERTY smartphone E61i. The device combines a functional business assistant and a much more attractive appearance compared to its predecessors.

Initially, the idea of the E line (in particular, smartphones with a full keyboard layout) was aimed exclusively at business users: maximum functions for work, Wi-Fi, lack of a camera and other multimedia features. In fact, compliance with these conditions can only be observed in the first swallow - E61. In subsequent reincarnations, almost all multimedia capabilities were returned to please the consumer.

The market for phones with a full keyboard is not dynamic, its target audience is narrow, announcements of such devices are infrequent outside America - the domain of BlackBerry devices. In this light, it is all the more important to update this segment.

After the release of the E71 - the newest model in the line of QWERTY devices - a serious gap appeared between the device indices (after the sequential release of the E61 and E61i). However, the difference in indices clearly demonstrates significant differences in functional richness and positioning.

Design

It was the appearance (before the appearance of the E71) that remained a weak point in Nokia QWERTY smartphones. It was difficult to call them anything other than “shovels,” “scoops,” or other sandbox attributes. As a result, future owners purchased such models solely for functionality, turning a blind eye to design.

In the case of the E71 design, there is a significant step forward. The smartphone has become much more attractive in appearance, which means it has gotten rid of the repulsive factor.

The dimensions of the device are comparable to those of conventional phones, with the exception of the width. However, it does not cause any discomfort when wearing, and is compensated by its thinness (10 mm). Next to the E61i, the new product looks more compact and neater.

The smartphone has acquired a softer, rounded shape, visually making it smaller. The use of metal and chromed plastic certainly adds points to the E71 in the “status” column. Unfortunately, the metal (from which the back cover and part of the front panel are made) retains finger marks.

The assembly of the model leaves a pleasant impression; there is a feeling of reliability.

Perhaps the only element that does not correspond to the strict design is the power button, which has an unexpected red color. The key looks out of place.

Next to it, at the top end, is an external speaker. It sounds quite loud and no less high quality for that reason. On the right side, above the volume rocker, there is a 2.5 mm headphone output, on the left there is a compartment for microSD memory cards covered with a flap.

Contents of delivery

In addition to the standard kilograms of instructions and a charger (which has become even more compact), the buyer is offered several really useful accessories. Firstly, this is a dense and thin case. It fits the smartphone and is intended to protect the device; you will have to carry it in the same pocket.

Secondly, this is a wired stereo headset Nokia HS-47, which comes with the latest products from the Finnish company. The tablets provide sufficient volume reserve and will certainly suit most owners.

Keyboard

Without any exaggeration, the keyboard unit is one of the leading criteria when choosing an E71. Who needs a QWERTY smartphone with an awkward keyboard?

The consequence of miniaturization (including a reduction in width by 12 mm compared to the E61) was a denser, crowded arrangement of keys. On the one hand, this allows you to comfortably use the keyboard using only one hand. On the other hand, this naturally influenced “two-handed” typing: people with large fingers cannot avoid false presses.

The keys are made of rubberized plastic, each of them has a “cushion” shape. The layouts of the Russian and English languages are printed in different colors, this makes it much easier to find the required letter. It is also convenient that in the bottom row there are separate buttons for punctuation marks and some other symbols (“.”,” “,”,” “:,” “;,” “@,” “/”). It is worth noting that you can switch from E61/E61i to a new keyboard without any getting used to it.

The navigation block was also affected by the decrease in free space. Four PIM keys (menu/desktop, calendar, contacts, email) are flanked by standard receive and end buttons and two soft keys. As a result, the finger again ends up missing the direction of the navigation key, which can be very annoying. By the way, the user can change the purpose of the functional buttons at will.

The keys are illuminated with white LEDs. This is the best option, which prevents the symbols on the keys from merging and does not dazzle in the dark. In the menu you can select the “breathing” effect, when the LED “breathes” under the navigation key. The function is interesting both from a decorative point of view and from a practical one: when the display is turned off in standby mode, “breathing” confirms the active state of the smartphone.

Display

Due to the non-standard wide body, the display retained the 3:4 aspect ratio, but changed its orientation to horizontal. The screen has smaller physical dimensions than the E61, and still has the same QVGA resolution.

Accordingly, image quality is at an excellent level, grain is indistinguishable. But it's still QVGA - apparently, the day when Nokia abandons the 320x240 resolution will be a great one.

For greater safety, the display is protected from external damage by glass. This does not impair brightness or color rendition in any way.

Hardware filling

The E71 has one of the most powerful ARM 11 processors used in Symbian devices with a frequency of 369 MHz. The amount of RAM is 128 MB, which is 2 times more than in the previous generation of Nokia smartphones.

This gives excellent results in terms of performance: the model allows you to work in parallel with several “difficult” applications. Using, for example, the built-in browser, you can open several tabs without thinking.

Desktop

The smartphone is controlled by Symbian OS v9.2 FP 3.1. This means that inside it is identical to another new product from the company - the E66 slider (the models were announced together).

The desktop is notable for its Modes mode. The utility provides for the creation of two desktop design options. In each mode, you can set an individual theme, select special Active Standby elements, hot links, etc. In its most general form, the program is presented as the ability to switch between “work” and “leisure.”

Utilities

It is unnecessary to dwell in detail on the capabilities common to the Symbian OS, so we will pay attention to the individual features of the E71.

First of all, PIM functions stand out for the better - positioning, after all, is obligatory. Searching for contacts, for example, can be done directly from the desktop. All you have to do is start typing letters (not even numbers), and a special wizard will offer you a choice of contacts suitable by name.

Directly in the application of the same name, using the pop-up context menu, you can select the method of communication with the subscriber. By the way, we must admit that Nokia has done a great job on the usual functions (such as contacts and calendar), they have become much more attractive in appearance and easier to use.

Thanks to the horizontally located display, the calendar is divided into 2 areas: the grid of numbers of the month is directly reflected in the left, and the tasks for the selected day are displayed in the right. In addition, there is an option to view the week, day and list of active tasks.

Particular attention is paid to email in the smartphone - the developers probably expect that it will be used actively. The setup process is reduced to a minimum: just enter the address and password for it, additional information is collected automatically by the wizard.

In general, when exploring the capabilities of the E71, it is difficult not to pay attention to the increasingly close integration of mobile devices with the Internet. More and more pre-installed applications offer network connectivity for a wider range of capabilities.

Nokia continues to conquer the Internet space through its own efforts, and it already has something to offer. Menu item “Download!” continues to fill up, uploading photos to the Ovi portal becomes available.

The list of applications consists of installers of various programs. The company decided to leave the choice to the owner. Those interested will be able to find an international guide (on hotels, currencies, weather, etc. - again an Internet connection is required), a sports coach and a set of solitaire games.

If entertainment applications are a matter of taste, then office programs are already fully installed and ready to use. It is especially convenient that the editing mode is available in the pre-installed Quick Office package without any requirement to purchase or update the program. This makes the keyboard even more useful: you can edit text and create your own from scratch.

Another important application is Nokia Maps. You can receive the coordinates of your location from the built-in GPS receiver with the support of base stations (A-GPS mode). The map can be viewed in 2D, 3D, with or without landscape modes. There is a search for points of interest (hotels, bars, shops), which is carried out via the Internet, so the database is interactive.

In a separate paragraph, I would like to mention that Minsk is already listed in the database. Moreover, on the map of our capital there are 2 lines marked - these are Independence and Pobediteley Avenues. For some reason, foreign manufacturers decided that this information would be sufficient for both local residents and visitors.

Communications

Communications are provided in full: there is an infrared port, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The search for hot spots occurs mainly in the background; it is enough to activate the WLAN with one click from the desktop.

The software creators expect that users will use the wireless network quite often. As a connection, Wi-Fi is always offered as an alternative option; conversations through it and connection to a work network (intranet) are possible.

There are no complaints about the operation of Bluetooth: the speed is high, there was no hostility towards devices from other manufacturers. It is commendable that the A2DP profile is supported.
