In addition to a computer or laptop, you have a smartphone and some other mobile gadget, and more and more often there are complaints that the tablet has stopped charging. This is especially true if you or your relatives decided to save money on your purchase and purchased a low-quality handicraft Chinese device. In this article from the site “” we will look at the most common reasons why the tablet does not take a charge, does not charge, and after finding the cause of the malfunction, the reader:

Or he will fix the breakdown on his own;
- or replace those elements that cause a failure in normal operation(charger, battery);
- or give the tablet to a repair service (if it is impossible to fix the breakdown at home).

1. The charging adapter is broken

A broken charger is the main reason why The tablet stopped charging. It won’t be difficult at all to understand that the adapter is broken. To carry out the test, just connect the tablet to any other device (computer or laptop) or try another adapter with similar connectors (for example, from a phone, video camera or camera).

If the tablet connected to the laptop's USB connector begins to take charge, it is obvious that the problem is with your adapter. If the tablet charges perfectly from a second adapter from a camera or smartphone (for example), then the reason will also be in the adapter from the tablet.

If, and you have definitely found this out through an experiment, the easiest way is to purchase a new charger. For those who like to tinker with a soldering iron and a tester (multimeter), we can advise you to “ring the contacts” and solder the broken wires.

2. The tablet battery is broken

If the tablet begins to lose its charge very quickly even with full battery or even The tablet stopped charging, works only when connected to a power outlet, it can be argued that the tablet’s battery is dead. It is impossible to fix this problem yourself, so you will have to buy a new battery. When purchasing a battery in a store, we recommend that you take your tablet with you to show it to the sales assistant and select an identical one. new battery.

Note: each battery has its own capacity, and the higher it is, the longer the device works without recharging. Ask the seller to show you the most powerful battery, which can hold a charge much longer than cheap Chinese counterfeits.

3. The charging connector is loose

If your tablet stops charging, do not rush to immediately run to the store for a new battery. Try to move the wire with your fingers charger in the place where it enters the tablet connector. By moving the plug, you can notice instantaneous flashes of charge supply to the device, arriving intermittently. If this is indeed the case, then the problem lies somewhere:

In the adapter cord (the wiring is loose or broken);
- in the tablet connector socket (loose, broken, clogged with dust or sand);
- in the tip of the adapter (contacts have come off, fasteners or latches are broken).

It is impossible to fix a broken connector at home. You will have to take the tablet to a service center. On the other hand, carefully inspect the device and its sockets; it happens that they become clogged with dust, dirt or sand, which also interferes with normal charging of the tablet (especially important if small children live in the house).

4. The tablet is broken

The most severe case is when The tablet stopped charging, lies in a problem with the hardware, with microboards and parts located inside the device. So, for example, the tablet may have a faulty cable or power controller, which cannot be fixed on your own. It turns out that if the 3 previous points do not allow us to determine the cause of the malfunction (it is not the connector, nor the battery, nor the adapter), then a trip to the service center will be inevitable.

In the same way, you can contact the service department if you have even the slightest doubt about the correctness of your own diagnosis and cannot fix the problem yourself. An experienced technician will repair a broken device for a very low fee and advise on how to avoid breakdowns in the future.

It's hard to believe now that mobile devices were the easiest way to connect with other people. Now an ordinary mobile phone has turned into a high-speed smartphone with enormous multimedia functionality, and the case has begun to store the power of a good computer inside it. Using devices is very addictive and some people don’t even take a break for at least a short time. This kind of use takes a toll on charging, and constant recharging can damage one of the phone's most important connectors. • Before carrying out all these actions, you should make sure that the problem is in the socket and not in the battery. Using your phone for a long time causes it to no longer hold a charge. In this case, you will have to get a new battery rather than deal with a “phantom” breakdown.
  • If the problem is still in the nest, then repairs cannot be avoided.

Important! Remember that all these manipulations can further loosen the socket, so do not use too much force during the work.

Alternative charging method

If your phone's design allows you to remove the battery, you can use universal charging. Such devices are called “Frog”. It is, of course, not very cheap, but sometimes you urgently need to charge your phone. This gadget has special grooves into which you need to insert and secure the battery.

But this method also has a number of obvious disadvantages:

  • While charging, the smartphone will not work and cannot be used until the battery is charged.
  • The purchase price of “Frog” is quite high and does not always justify its purchase.
  • If the manufacturer's reputation is very dubious, then you will only harm your device.

The mobile phone has become so firmly established in our lives that many can no longer imagine how they could manage without it. Every owner is familiar with the situation when you need to make an important call or receive a message, but the mobile phone battery is treacherously discharged, or even worse, there is a charge, but nothing happens. How to charge your phone if the socket is broken?

Method one

This method of how to charge a phone if the socket is broken is the simplest and does not require any skills at all. True, the mobile phone battery will suffer and will not be able to withstand repetition. All that is required is to remove the battery and hit it hard against something hard, such as a table or stone. You will be able to make 1 or 2 calls.

Method two: frog to the rescue

The next method of how to charge a phone if the charging socket is broken is very expensive and does not justify the expense, but it is suitable if you or your loved ones have a “frog”. This is a universal charger with a special groove where the mobile battery is inserted. This method has its disadvantages:

  1. The cost of the "frog" significantly exceeds the costs in comparison with the service center.
  2. You won't be able to use your phone until the battery runs out.
  3. Some reviews from device users noted that the battery broke down during charging.

Method 3: Direct charging without using a socket

If you have some skills in working with electricity, then this method of charging your phone if the socket is broken can be done at home. Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Remove the battery from your mobile phone.
  2. Disconnect from the network first.
  3. Remove the insulation from the charger wire,
  4. Clean the veins. Find the plus and minus.
  5. Find the correct terminals on the battery. Observe the polarity of the wires and the device itself.
  6. Fix the wires, after which you can plug the plug into the socket.

Important! This method cannot be used if you are alone. There must be someone who can help you in case of a possible electric shock.

Method four

The described method will tell you how to urgently charge your phone if the socket is broken. Take an ordinary knife and heat it on fire. Place it on the battery. Due to the increase in temperature, the battery will briefly recover. This method is best used only when the call is more important than the cost of the battery. Follow the rule: when heating the battery, act quickly and carefully, otherwise it may swell. Heating the battery itself will make it possible to make a call lasting about 5 minutes, but the battery will have to be replaced.

Hiking way to charge your phone

The previous methods described how to charge a phone at home if the socket is broken and there is no “frog”, but what if the situation turned out to be just the opposite: you urgently need to make a call at the dacha or on a hike? And in this case, there is a way to make a call, if, of course, you have the necessary materials at hand. In order to make a charger yourself, you will need several metal plates, a small piece of copper wire, and salt water. If you are going on a hike, for example, you can take with you everything you need in advance, in case of an emergency. The described method can recharge the phone by 5%.

The plates are buried in the ground and wrapped copper wire. The structure is watered with salt water. The charger is ready. In case there is no iron, it can be obtained as follows: metal pins are stuck into existing products, for example, lemons or apples, and wrapped with wire.

Is it possible to go to extreme measures?

The following methods for charging a phone, if the socket is broken and there is no frog, are recommended to be used only in extreme cases, they can damage the battery. Otherwise, it’s better not to waste time and take your mobile phone to a service center.

Replace the socket yourself or have a service center?

Can I fix the charging socket myself? Theoretically - yes. But do not forget about the functions that this connector performs:

  1. Files are transferred from the phone to the computer and vice versa through the charging socket. This is perhaps the most important function, besides charging the gadget, considering how much important data can be stored in a memory card.
  2. Through the charging socket, you can charge the phone directly from the computer using a special cord that comes with the mobile phone.
  3. Using the charging connector, you can connect your mobile phone to your TV to view photos and videos.
  4. Some other possibilities.

Charge your iPhone without using a charger

If you are the owner of an iPhone, then the hiking method described above will not be useful to you. Alternative sources have become available on the market that can convert environmental energy into electricity. You just won’t be able to use them without visiting a salon.

If you do not have experience in repairing cell phones, it is better not to undertake repairs on your own, since a careless movement can finally finish off your smartphone, which costs much more than the services of service centers. In addition, you can only aggravate the damage and repairs will cost more than the amount that could have been initially.

If the socket is ok, but there is no charge

If the connector socket is fine, but the phone does not charge, the charger may be faulty. In this case, you can charge your mobile phone via a USB port by connecting it to a computer or tablet.

How to choose a service center

It is best to give the phone to a branded service of the same brand as the device. Maintenance certificates are required. View reviews of the selected service on the website.

How to fix a phone charging socket? How to fix a phone charging socket at home? Do not know? Let's figure it out and fix it at the same time. Are you ready? Then let's begin. If you use it carelessly, sometimes the power socket breaks. In this case, you should know how to repair the phone's charging connector or charge it in another way.

The main reasons for the breakdown of the charging socket

You can force the connector to break down if you have a habit of frequently dropping the device or spilling various drinks and other liquids on it. With constant impacts, the socket may become deformed, which will make charging the tablet impossible, since the plug simply will not fit into the connector, or may be blocked by some housing part that has shifted after a strong impact. The pin connectors may also bend when connected, then your gadget will not receive energy.

Damage from contact with a damp environment of the dock connector is much more dangerous. This can damage various neighboring components, which include the polyphonic speaker, which is always located at the bottom of the device. In most cases, it is the speaker, or rather its mesh, that is the conductor of liquid and moisture to penetrate into the device body to the cable and connector.

How to fix a phone charging socket at home

You must immediately indicate that your device cannot be repaired in this way. A broken power socket will remain so and repair cannot be avoided. This half-measure is necessary in situations where there is no required amount for repairs, but you need to use a mobile phone. Instructions on how to charge your phone if the socket is broken:

  • Connect the charger to the device, plug it into the network.
  • Try moving the cord, moving the plug position up and down.
  • If the battery cannot be charged because the contact has become loose, such actions can short-circuit it.
  • If your cell phone detects the charger, try to fix this position. Try placing books or other objects under the wire so that the mobile phone can lie there overnight and the battery can be charged. Before carrying out such a manipulation, make sure that the problem is really in the connector and not the battery. When used for a long time, they tend to stop holding a charge. In this case, you should buy a new battery rather than deal with a supposedly damaged socket. If the problem really is with the connector, then it is unlikely to be able to avoid repairs. Keep in mind that such manipulations with the wire can further loosen the connection point or completely break it.

Replacing the charging connector with a universal device

In a critical situation, when you don’t know how to charge your phone if the socket is broken, you can use a universal charger. Sometimes the device is called a “frog”; it is relatively expensive, so it is not a fact that it is better than sending the device for repair. This device has a special groove into which you need to insert the extracted mobile battery. However, this method has several obvious disadvantages:

  • During charging, the smartphone is turned off and cannot be used until the battery is charged;
  • the cost of the “frog” is high and sometimes does not justify the costs;
  • among user reviews there are situations
  • when the charger broke the battery

If your phone's charging socket is completely broken, charge it directly

If you don't know how to change the charging socket on your phone, you can try to recharge the battery without having to use the power socket. The method is relatively complex and requires some skills in working with electricity. The point is this:

  • You need to remove the battery from your phone.
  • Cut off the insulation from the charger wire, expose the wires (unplug from the outlet).
  • Strip the veins, determine where the plus and minus are.
  • Find the corresponding terminals on the cell phone battery.
  • It is important to observe the polarity of the wires and the device. Secure the wires and plug the plug into the socket.

It is strongly not recommended to use this method if you are not 100% confident in your skills. You should not carry out manipulations when you are alone at home; there must be a person nearby who can help you in case of a possible electric shock. Please note that this connection option is not normal for the battery and can lead to breakdown or premature depletion.

The only proven way to get rid of the problem is to leave the matter in the hands of professional workers. You may not want to try any “workarounds” after they tell you how much it costs to fix your phone charging socket. In modern devices, this connector also performs the function of connecting to a computer and transferring data, so its failure greatly reduces the functionality of the device. This is a microcircuit that cannot be repaired at home on your own. Phone repairs often cost a lot of money and you should be prepared for this.

In this case, it is best to contact a certified center. The ideal option would be a branded service point from the same manufacturer as your mobile phone. They know all the intricacies of their products and will be able to provide qualified assistance to fix the breakdown. Inexperienced or careless workers can aggravate the situation and lead to even greater damage to the device.

It often happens that the phone stops charging, although when you check the charging from it, it turns out that it is working. Thoughts arise: the phone is faulty. But not many people think that the reason for the lack of communication between the phone and the charger may be a simple clogging of the phone input socket. Enough a large number of phones do not have a protective cap on the USB input socket. Because many people carry their phones in their pockets, and over time they accumulate garbage, which quietly but surely penetrates the phone's socket.

If the phone has been in your pocket for a long time and has never been registered, then most likely its USB input socket is already clogged. If you're lucky, the phone charges normally and connects to the computer. It may be that there is a periodic loss of normal contact with charging. Well, in a bad case, the phone does not charge at all and does not connect to the computer, although everything is fine with the charging and the cable.

As soon as you start having problems with normal charging of your phone (the phone won’t charge, the charging is working), I immediately advise you to clean the USB input in your phone yourself. This is done quite simply. First, using a thin needle, we carefully try to scrape out debris from the depth of the phone input connector. This debris may be compressed pieces of dust and lint. It is this that usually prevents normal electrical contact between the charging plug and the phone input socket. It is difficult to remove this debris with a simple brush, but with a needle it is just right.

Next, after we have pulled out the compressed debris, we take a small brush in our hand and continue to clean the nest usb input phone from smaller particles of debris. Don’t forget to blow out this very garbage with your lips))). After completing such a simple phone cleaning, there is a high probability that your device will start charging normally again. Personally, I have several such successful cases when it helped. Although at first there were thoughts that I would have to take the phone for repair.

If this does not help, the next most common reason for the phone not charging normally is problems with the electrical contact of the socket itself and the board on which it is soldered. It is also not uncommon for a wire to break near the plug coming from the charger (inside). You can solder the wire yourself. Take it and cut the end of the plug near the wire coming from it. The break usually occurs at a distance of about 5 cm. We disconnect this piece of wire and re-solder the wire to the plug. Well, if the problem is in the socket, which has lost contact with the board, then only a repair service will help.

If your phone's battery isn't charging properly, don't think it's just the battery or the charger that's causing the problem. Based on personal experience, the problem and its solution may be much simpler than you think. If your smartphone or tablet is charging poorly or not charging at all, then check out 10 ways to fix these problems.

Why is the device not charging?

Problems arise to varying degrees. Either the phone doesn't want to charge at all when it's connected, or the process is too slow. Here are some solutions for you.

1. Poor contact

Very often the metal coating inside the USB port and micro USB has poor contact, either through a manufacturing defect or through wear and tear on the cable.

All you need to do is turn off the device, remove the battery if possible, and clean the contacts inside with something like a needle or toothpick. Do this very carefully and carefully, then insert the battery and connect the charger again. 9 times out of 10, that's all you need to do.

2. Clean the charging port from dust and foreign fibers

Do you keep your phone in your jeans pocket? If so, then fibers could be the culprit: we've lost count of the number of times fibers in our clothing have caused faulty charging.

You can also return the charging connector to normal condition by blowing it with compressed air.

3. Try a different cable

The most fragile part of the charger is the cable. It constantly bends, which can damage it over time.

The easiest way to diagnose a damaged cable is to take another one and see if it works properly with your device. If yes, you know that the original charger wire is faulty. If not, then you need to look for a solution further.

4. Use a different adapter

You have ruled out problems with the cable, then you need to check the functionality of the charging device itself. This is much easier if you can pull the wire out of the adapter. We've encountered many chargers where the USB ports have become worn out due to endless plugging and unplugging of the cable.

Also check the charging/wire functionality on other phones as this will help rule out the possibility that it is a problem with your smartphone. In addition, you must make sure that the outlet is working properly.

5. Remember - safety comes first

Do not charge your device near water or in extremely hot or humid conditions. Do not keep the device connected to the charger for too long. Don't leave it charging overnight when it only needs 2-3 hours. This may cause damage hardware.

If you want to replace the charger or its cable, be careful: cheap third-party adapters are quite dangerous. Recently, there have been many cases of mobile phones catching fire due to them.

The video below captured one of these cases:

6. Replace the battery

The life of a battery does not last forever, and after several years of use, it loses its capacity. The more often you charge and discharge it, the sooner it will deteriorate. Of course, if the battery stops working after six months of use, then you need to contact the seller for a warranty.

Some defective batteries can be easily identified by appearance. If it is swollen, then it should be replaced immediately.

7. Charge from the correct source

Charging from a wall outlet will always be faster than from a computer because its USB ports have too little power. Thus, the phone charges much faster from a power outlet.

The problem may also be that you are using an adapter from another device, for example, from a Bluetooth headset, which is not intended for your gadget. This adapter does not supply enough current. In the case of the latest high-end smartphones, you may have a device that supports fast charging, but the adapter is not suitable.

8. Update the software or roll back to previous version

Updates software can worsen the battery life of a mobile phone, especially when an old device receives a fresh one Android version. Newer smartphones and tablets are often optimized for benefits latest version BY.

If this happens to you and you can't find a solution, try rolling back to a previous version. Of course, you can try first full reset, as recommended by manufacturers, so as not to compromise the data on the device due to old version Android.

Likewise, sometimes autonomous operation smartphone can be significantly improved fresh update.

9. Try turning it off

Using heavy applications while charging affects the duration of the process. For example, if you are chatting on Skype or playing games, the device will take longer to charge.

Therefore, charge the device in the off state or in airplane mode.

10. Calibrate the battery

Sometimes, the battery charge level displayed on the screen may differ from the actual battery level. Because of this, your phone's behavior may seem strange to you.

It's hard to believe now that mobile devices were the easiest way to connect with other people. Now an ordinary mobile phone has turned into a high-speed smartphone with enormous multimedia functionality, and the case has begun to store the power of a good computer inside it. Sometimes it seems that small contacts USB cable Phone or tablet chargers are already bent from frequent use and therefore no longer work. When you try to insert the charging cable into the gadget, it tries to jump out and is difficult to hold inside the device. To charge the phone, you have to press hard on the connector. What to do in this case? Should I take it for repair? It turns out not. You can fix the problem on your own in a minute. Without delaying the solution, we’ll immediately reveal all the cards. The culprit is dust clogged in the connectors (see illustration). A simple needle or pin can remove it from the connector, freeing up space for the plug. Thus, it will enter its full stroke without problems, allowing the contacts to fully close and charge the device.

There seems to be a little dirt in the connector. But the compressed dust accumulates, shrinking. As soon as we start to take it out, it turns out that such an amount of dust could not fit in such a small connector.

How to clean a dirty USB connector or port?

For such a seemingly simple operation, there are several methods with their own advantages and disadvantages:

Announcement

  • With a regular needle or pin. The benefits are simple. Disadvantages - you can easily roll something inside. Especially on modern Lightning- and USB type C connectors.
  • The Apple Genius service of the company of the same name recommends the included paperclip for removing SIM cards. It is very thin and comfortable. In my opinion, it is almost no different from a regular needle, especially if the latter is used carefully.
  • Ultrasound or air. Absolutely safe, but very troublesome. However, if the user has access to a source of compressed air, and a compact one that can penetrate inside the connector, then go ahead. Why not.

It often happens that the phone stops charging, although when you check the charging from it, it turns out that it is working. Thoughts arise: the phone is faulty. But not many people think that the reason for the lack of communication between the phone and the charger may be a simple clogging of the phone input socket. A fairly large number of phones do not have a protective cap on the USB input socket.

Next, after we have pulled out the compressed debris, we take a small brush in our hand and continue to clean the phone’s USB input socket from smaller particles of debris.

P.S. But when you take your phone in for repair, they are unlikely to tell you the truth that the cause of the breakdown was simply garbage. And they will most likely charge you money as if it were a serious breakdown of the phone itself. And all you had to do was carefully clean the phone input socket yourself, and everything would work again!
