Windows. Viruses. Notebooks. Internet. office. Utilities. Drivers

Hello friends! After I wrote an article about how, she collected a lot of comments, which means that the topic of installing Wi-Fi routers is very relevant. People are actively installing Wi-Fi networks in their homes, and this is due to the fact that now almost all mobile devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops) have the ability to connect to a wireless network.

And another plus is, of course, the absence of wires throughout the apartment, you can hang a Wi-Fi router at the entrance and connect to the network within your home, and if you don’t put a password on the network, then it’s enough for the neighbors :).

If now the same laptops and tablets all come with a built-in Wi-Fi module, then ordinary stationary computers, as a rule, cannot boast of such a chip. And when there is already Wi-Fi at home, then an ordinary computer, not a laptop, needs to pull a network cable from the router, because it does not have a Wi-Fi receiver. And maybe not for everyone, but still I want all devices to connect to a wireless network.

I saw that people ask search engines about the following questions:

bought a router, now how to connect a computer (there is no Wi-Fi board on it) and a phone

And this means that not everyone knows yet that there are both external and internal network adapters, they are also Wi-Fi receivers. These are small devices that can allow your computer to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Now I will tell you more about them.

Slightly larger than a flash drive. They connect to the computer mainly via the USB interface. They look something like this:

They are connected mainly via the PCI interface, which means that for installation you need to open the system unit. They look like this:

At the price from external receivers almost do not differ. Installation shouldn't be a problem.

As you already understood, the lack of Wi-Fi on the computer is solved very quickly and without high costs. But you do not need to lay a network cable throughout the apartment. And you may also ask if the Wi-Fi speed will be lower than cable. I answer, my Internet goes through the TP-Link TL-WR841N router, to the computer so far via cable, and the laptop is connected via Wi-Fi, according to my observations, it works even faster on the laptop. That's how friends. Good luck!
