Windows. Viruses. Laptops. Internet. Office. Utilities. Drivers

2017 has proven to be a prolific year for smartphones with great cameras. Manufacturers finally began to understand that the race for megapixels is stupid, and began to work on other components that are no less important for the photographic capabilities of the gadget - such as the matrix and lenses. As a result, mobile devices began to appear on storefronts, capable of making the buyer forget about the dream of acquiring an expensive DSLR.

Which devices deserve the privilege of proudly calling themselves “camera phones” at the end of 2017, you will find out by reading our top 8.

8. Doogee BL7000

Main camera: Samsung ISOCELL sensor, 13 MP + 13 MP resolution, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, touch autofocus.

: Samsung ISOCELL sensor, 13 MP, f/2.2 aperture, LED flash, autofocus.

Yes, you’re not imagining it - the outlandish Chinese novelty has exactly the same sensors both front and rear. And not just any, but Samsung ISOCELL, characterized by high focusing speed. The rear camera is double, both sensors have the same resolution – 13 megapixels. This allows the user to take spectacular photos with Doogee BL7000 blurred background, and the smartphone itself should be considered innovative - after all, it is the first and so far the only gadget on the market with 3 13-megapixel cameras!

Oddly enough, the camera is not the main advantage of the Doogee BL7000. The smartphone is positioned by the manufacturer as a “champion” in terms of battery life. A fully charged 7,060 mAh battery lasts for 38 days. So the BL7000 could be a real boon for the naturalist photographing wildlife during long hikes.

The Doogee BL7000 was released only at the end of August, so at the time of compiling the rating it was difficult to find it on sale. You can order this gadget on the Chinese trading platform AliExpress.

7. Nubia Z11

Main camera: Sony IMX298 sensor, 16 MP resolution, f/2.0 aperture, ISO 100 – 12800, dual LED flash, digital and optical stabilization.

Additional (front) camera: Sony IMX179 sensor, 8 MP, f/2.4 aperture.

The flagship of the Nubia series from ZTE supports NeoVision 6.0 technology, which allows this smartphone to take photos comparable in quality to those from SLR cameras.

The rear camera of Nubia Z11 combines 3 types of image stabilization: manual (HIS), optical (OIS) and electronic (EIS). HIS makes it possible to take breathtaking panoramic photos, and thanks to OIS, photos are not blurred even in the evenings - when the lighting leaves much to be desired.

Let us not forget to mention such a wonderful thing as local tone mapping (LTM). This interesting technology artificially adds brightness to the photo in those places that are most darkened - due to which the photo turns out to be much more sensual. The photo on the left was processed by LTM, while the one on the right was devoid of any processing - as they say in Odessa, “two big differences.”

There are many photo and video modes available to the Nubia Z11 user. In particular, the Slow Shutter mode allows you to photograph moving objects without losing quality, and is therefore very useful when photographing sports events.

The front camera may leave a fastidious user disappointed. It gives a reliable image, but, alas, faded - this becomes obvious when comparing selfies from Nubia, Xperia XZ and modern Galaxy from Samsung. To “sweeten the pill” is a proprietary “beauty filter” that smoothes the skin, making the face more attractive. This filter, by the way, can be activated on the camera even during a video call.

6. Sony Xperia X Performance

Main camera: Sony IMX300 sensor, 23 MP resolution, f/2.0 aperture, ISO 100 – 12800, LED flash, predictive hybrid autofocus.

Additional (front) camera: 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture, autofocus.

“A real masterpiece” – this is how the Japanese manufacturer modestly calls its smartphone Sony Xperia X Performance on the official website. The device is good in terms of performance and looks quite good, but its main advantage, of course, is the cameras.

The Xperia X Performance is perfect for shooting action videos, as it is equipped with predictive focusing technology - this means that the rear camera of the smartphone is able to track a moving subject and predict its location so as not to lose focus.

The focusing of the rear camera on the Xperia X Performance is the most accurate and fastest - and this is not an unfounded statement. According to the results of tests conducted by Strategy Analitycs, a well-known marketing company, the Sony device surpassed the Huawei P9, LG G6, and all other vaunted camera phones of 2016-2017 in terms of autofocus accuracy.

Xperia X Performance gives the photographer the opportunity to choose one of several shooting modes (“Manual”, “Automatic” and others), as well as one of a variety of scenarios - for example, “Sports” or “Food”. What’s interesting is that in automatic mode, the smartphone is able to decide for itself which scenario to use - point the camera, for example, at your favorite pet, and you will see that the “Pets” scenario is already active.

The front 13-megapixel camera is distinguished by the fact that it has a large matrix and is equipped with proprietary photosensitive technologies from Sony. You can “take a selfie” even with a lack of light - the color rendition will still be excellent. As a bonus from the manufacturer - a filter that smoothes the skin so skillfully that even after a night of partying, you look “at 100” in a selfie.

5. iPhone 7 Plus

Main camera: sensor Sony Exmor RS, resolution 12 MP + 12 MP, aperture f/1.8 + f/2.8, QuadLED flash, optical image stabilization for video, digital zoom.

Additional (front) camera: 7 MP, f/2.2 aperture, automatic image stabilization.

The iPhone 7 Plus has a dual rear camera, each sensor of which has a resolution of 12 megapixels. The first “eye” contains a wide-angle lens with an f/1.8 aperture, the second one contains a telephoto lens with an f/2.8 aperture. This may sound boring, but it actually allows the iPhone camera to work real miracles.

Example photo of an iPhone 7 Plus user

A user of an Apple gadget, for example, can easily take a photo with a bokeh effect - when the background is beautifully blurred, like in a movie. Previously, this effect was considered the prerogative of exclusively expensive DSLRs.

The second “miracle” from Apple is digital zoom, which is created due to the binocular effect when using 2 cameras simultaneously. Artificially, the iPhone can enlarge the image by 6 times when shooting video and 10 (!) times when shooting photos. The Apple phone also has an optical zoom: it is only twofold, but at the same time it is much cooler than digital, because it allows you to enlarge the picture without losing quality at all! Only Xiaomi Mi6 can boast of this, smartphones that have already “left the race” - like ASUS Zenfone Zoom and Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom – plus some smartphones that were higher in the ranking.

Frontal iPhone camera 7 Plus has a higher resolution than the “sixes” - 7 megapixels versus 5 megapixels. In addition, she “learned” to shoot videos in FullHD format, received optical image stabilization and even a new, “smart” flash that can analyze the quality of lighting before firing.

4. Samsung Galaxy S8

Main camera: Sony IMX260 sensor, 12 megapixel resolution, f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, optical stabilization, phase detection autofocus.

Additional (front) camera: Sony IMX320 sensor, 8 MP resolution, f/1.7 aperture.

In the age-old debate about who is cooler - Apple or Samsung, the Korean company takes the upper hand in this rating. Although it is impossible to say objectively whether the S8 takes better photographs than the iPhone 7 Plus - it is rather a matter of taste. Let's not forget that we are comparing devices different generations– Apple will deliver its crowning blow in September 2017, when it shows the iPhone 8.

The main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S8 has a resolution of 12 megapixels - a low value, but this should not mislead the buyer about the photographic capabilities of the Galaxy S8. The camera's color rendition is at a very high level, and the HDR mode is much more intelligent than that of the iPhone 7 Plus - photos look light and contrasty.

Like the iPhone, Samsung boasts that its camera supports 2x optical zoom and high-speed video technology that allows you to play with the slo-mo effect.

With the S8 you can safely go for a walk around the city at night - shooting in the dark will not drive this device into a dead end. Thanks to the large pixels of the matrix (14 microns) and a fast lens, the gadget takes photos in which the smallest details are visible, even in low light conditions.

The S8's front camera includes the same fast lens as the rear one. Its main feature is a wide viewing angle: even if you bring the smartphone to your face close quarters, the camera will capture as much of the surrounding space as possible.

3. HTC U11

Main camera: Sony IMX362 sensor, 12 MP resolution, f/1.7 aperture, dual LED flash, digital and optical stabilization, digital zoom.

Additional (front) camera: 16 MP resolution, f/2.0 aperture, wide viewing angle (150°).

The Taiwanese company is now on its last legs (it’s about to be swallowed up by Google), but within it there is definitely at least one division whose employees do not eat their bread in vain. And this division is engaged in the development of optics.

The well-known portal DxOMark put the HTC U11 in first place in its rating of camera phones in 2017 - and for good reason. The main module contains a 12-megapixel UltraPixel matrix, in which each pixel is increased in size - up to 14 microns; Thanks to this, the pictures are bright and clear.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 camera also has large pixels, but in terms of photo quality, the “Korean” loses – what’s the secret? It is very likely that in the innovative Auto HDR Boost function. The purpose of this proprietary function is to fully preserve all the details of the light and dark areas of the image.

Another proprietary technology, UltraSpeed provides very fast and 100% accurate autofocus. The phase focusing system uses every pixel, although this is an unconventional approach - a conventional camera uses only a few sensors for this purpose. Thanks to its ultra-fast focus, HTC U11 can be considered a reliable assistant in creating photo reports from music concerts and sporting events.

U front cameras The U11 has a higher resolution than the main one - this is rarely seen. But here’s the paradox: she shoots quite mediocrely. Among the functionality with a “plus” sign, we can note support for HDR Boost (which works much better on the main camera), and with a “minus” sign – the lack of autofocus, a completely inexplicable phenomenon. If the HTC U11 had a better front panel, this gadget would get a higher place - but it only gets bronze.

2. Google Pixel

Main camera: Sony IMX378 sensor, 12 megapixel resolution, f/2.0 aperture, dual LED flash, digital stabilization, digital zoom.

Additional (front) camera: Sony IMX179 sensor, 8 MP resolution, f/2.4 aperture.

The HTC U11 received a record 90 points from DxOMark, while the Google Pixel is just one less at 89. Both smartphones are certainly at the forefront in terms of photographic abilities, although some experts believe that the Pixel deserves a place at the top of the rankings.

If you look at the characteristics of the Google Phone camera, you will not find anything interesting there - neither you have a fantastic resolution, nor a super-strong lens, nor even optical stabilization a la Galaxy S8. Indeed, if you compare pictures from Pixel, flagship Samsung and other expensive smartphones, the result will not be in favor of the first one. The photo taken with a Google Phone is quite contrasting, but a little dark.

Miracles begin when you activate the HDR+ mode. When the camera starts, the smartphone takes 9 preliminary frames. During subsequent processing, all these frames are layered on top of each other, adding details that the picture lacks in order to be considered perfect. What's the result? Fantastically rich picture with excellent detail.

Google Pixel will also appeal to novice operators. The smartphone is capable of shooting video in several formats at once: for example, in 4K at 30 frames per second, in FullHD at 60 frames. There is also a slow motion mode: if you activate it, the frequency will increase to 240 frames per second at HD resolution.

The front camera of the Google Phone boasts a matrix with large pixels (1.4 microns), which compensates for the insufficiently wide aperture. Tests have shown that in terms of selfie quality, the Google Pixel is far ahead of the iPhone 7 Plus, the front of which is openly “yellow” and has a small viewing angle.

Huawei P10 Plus is the best camera phone!

Main camera: resolution 12 MP + 20 MP, aperture f/1.8 + f/1.8, dual LED flash, optical stabilization, digital zoom.

Additional (front) camera: 8 MP resolution, f/1.9 aperture.

On the back, opposite the camera eyes of the Huawei P10 Plus, the signature “Leica” proudly flaunts – and that’s best recommendation, which can only be given to a camera phone. The German company Leica specializes in the development and production of premium optical equipment - this is the “big fish” Huawei managed to get as a partner.

The main camera of the P10 Plus supports hybrid focusing and is also equipped with an optical stabilizer that helps improve video smoothness. The Leica SUMMILUX lens has an excellent f/1.8 aperture. Thanks to this parameter, it was the “plus” model that made it into our rating – the P10 optics have an f/2.2 aperture.

The second sensor has a higher resolution - as much as 20 megapixels, and the aperture is the same. However, it is monochrome and is capable of exclusively auxiliary function– with its help you can take very clear and effective black and white photos.

An important advantage of the rear camera of the P10 Plus is the highest level software, developed, by the way, also by Leica. The Huawei gadget boasts unique photo processing algorithms that allow you to eliminate the shortcomings of artistic portraits in a natural way - just like in a professional photo studio. An interesting detail: special attention is paid to the model’s eyes - a separate algorithm is responsible for reliably displaying their natural color and emphasizing their shine.

The front camera of the smartphone is also equipped with Leica optics. It has an excellent aperture ratio - selfie lovers will definitely be satisfied, because the “selfies” will turn out to be of high quality even in the dark.

conclusions

The gold of our rating went to the Huawei P10 Plus gadget - having mastered the P9, the Chinese manufacturer, with the support of Leica, created the ideal camera phone with two fast lenses on the back and a very smart front camera. The leader could have been different - the lead of the P10 Plus is minimal - however, the cameras of other contenders showed shortcomings. Google Pixel, for example, does not support optical video stabilization, and the “champion” according to DxOMark HTC U11 has a very mediocre front camera, completely inexplicably devoid of autofocus.

Smartphone camera capabilities have come a long way in the last five years. Nowadays, even a relatively cheap budget camera can become a good tool in the hands of a skilled photographer. Today we have compiled a rating that includes best phones with a good camera 2018. Below you can choose both an inexpensive and a top-end phone for yourself.

Phones with a good camera up to 7,000 rubles

Meizu M5c

  • Screen: IPS, 5” HD;
  • Processor: MediaTek MT6737 (1.3 GHz);
  • Memory: 2/16 GB;

Meizu M5c is a very rare representative of budget smartphones that can take a good shot in mediocre lighting conditions. The smartphone does not have outstanding optics or a photosensor, but sophisticated post-processing algorithms do an excellent job.

For the best quality shot, it is best to work in HDR mode; also do not forget about the flash at dusk. The main camera has some problems with autofocus (it does not always pick out the right objects), so when taking macro photography it is recommended to set the focus point manually. The front camera is also quite good, selfies come out clear and with correct color reproduction.

Conclusion: Meizu M5c is a budget smartphone with a good camera. Suitable if you are not chasing top-level shooting.

Xiaomi Redmi 4A

  • Screen: IPS, 5” HD;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 (1.4 GHz);
  • Memory: 2/16 GB;

Redmi 4A uses a budget OmniVision OV13850 photo sensor. Based on the camera test results, we can say with complete confidence that this smartphone is a direct competitor to the Meizu M5c. In some directions the device is from Xiaomi is better, in some - worse. For example, Xiaomi is doing great with video shooting (for such a price), the gadget can shoot fairly clear footage in FullHD, while the first copy of the rating only works in HD.

However, in terms of the quality of night photography, the Redmi 4A is significantly inferior to its competitor; even the HDR mode and flash cannot save it. But autofocus works great; you don’t have to manually point to the desired focus point.

Conclusion: Redmi 4A –an alternative to the already mentioned Meizu M5c. In fact, your choice will depend only on the individual features (shell, performance, autonomy) of each smartphone.

Huawei Y5 2017

  • Screen: IPS, 5” HD;
  • Processor: MediaTek MT6737T (1.4 GHz);
  • Memory: 2/16 GB;
  • Camera: main – 8 MP, front – 5 MP.

The 2017 Y5 is very different from its predecessor, and a lot of the work Huawei has done is on this smartphone's camera. At the same time, a rather strange misunderstanding arose - it turns out that the front camera of a budget employee takes pictures even better than the main one!

In fact, this is not possible all the time; in normal lighting, it is certainly better to use the main photo module than the front camera. In any case, selfie lovers will definitely be delighted. The Y5 2017's shortcomings also include the removable back cover. Because of it, the smartphone body crunches unpleasantly even with the slightest pressure.

Conclusion:Huawei Y5 2017 is a smartphone with a good selfie camera. But in terms of the quality of the main photosensor, it is slightly inferior to its competitors.

Phones with a good camera under 10,000 rubles

Honor 6C Pro

  • Screen: IPS, 5.2” HD;
  • Processor: MediaTek MT6750 (1.5 GHz);
  • Memory: 3/32 GB;

The aperture of the main lens on the rear panel is f/2.2, the focal length is 27 mm. Despite the relatively low price, Honor decided to “hint” that the 6c Pro is a camera phone. To do this, the standard camera application has been equipped with a professional mode, which has quite a wide range of options for adjusting ISO, shutter speed, exposure and focus.

We had no complaints about the operation of the photo module; autofocus works very quickly and clearly. At night, the pictures are not as detailed, but without noise. The phone can shoot video in FullHD resolution. True, moving objects in the frame are slightly blurred. But the 8-megapixel front camera performed well in all tests.

Conclusion: a good option for those who can’t afford a flagship yet. In his price category 6 cPro is one of the best.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max

  • Screen: IPS, 5.2” HD;
  • Processor: MediaTek MT6737T (1.45 GHz);
  • Memory: 2/16 GB;
  • Camera: main – 13 MP, front – 5 MP.

The Zenfone 3 Max uses a Largan lens with a five-layer lens as the main camera optics. There is an instant shutter function and the proprietary PixelMaster technology is supported.

During the test, Zenfone 3 Max surprised us with an excellent ratio of almost all of its parameters. The only problem was that the dynamic range of the camera was too narrow. Therefore, you should not expect miracles from it in the dark. High-resolution shooting is supported. After a few seconds, the smartphone saves a 52-megapixel frame stitched together from four 13-megapixel photos.

Conclusion: Zenfone 3 Max is good not only for its camera, but also for its price-to-quality ratio. In this matter he is one of best smartphones up to 10 thousand rubles.

Asus Zenfone 3 Max

Nokia 5

  • Screen: IPS, 5.2” HD;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (1.2 GHz);
  • Memory: 2/16 GB;
  • Camera: main – 13 MP, front – 8 MP.

HMD Global is placing its main bet on Nokia 5, because it is this model in the line that should bring the most profit to the manufacturer. The smartphone is perfectly balanced in almost all matters, although those who are particularly picky may be disappointed by the discreet design of the device. Also, do not forget about the low level of performance of Nokia 5.

When it comes to shooting, the device can easily be ranked first in terms of quality (naturally, in its price category). The weak point of the photo module is shooting in poor lighting, then a huge amount of noise is added to the blurriness of small details.

Conclusion: according to experts,Nokia 5 has every chance to win the top ranking of camera phones under 10,000 rubles in 2018-2019.

Phones with a good camera up to 15,000 rubles

Galaxy J7 2017

  • Screen: AMOLED, 5.5” FullHD;
  • Processor: Exynos 7870 (1.6 GHz);
  • Memory: 3/16 GB;
  • Camera: main – 13 MP, front – 13 MP.

The 2017 J7 is noticeably “prettier” compared to last year’s model of the line. The smartphone has a high-quality all-metal body and a rather nice design. Also worth mentioning is the large 5.5-inch AMOLED display with AlwaysOn Display function. It allows you to display basic data (time, date, notifications) even on a dark screen.

The main 13-megapixel camera of the gadget performed well in macro photography. This is largely due to the accurate and fast autofocus. Apart from this, the excellent post-processing deserves praise. Thanks to it, it is possible to achieve the highlighting of small details and competent color reproduction. To shoot with several light sources in the frame at once, it is recommended to use the HDR mode.

Conclusion: an excellent smartphone for the money. It has a good front camera with a built-in beautifier.

Huawei P10 Lite

  • Screen: AMOLED, 5.2” FullHD;
  • Processor: HiSilicon Kirin 658 (2.35 GHz);
  • Memory: 3/32 GB;
  • Camera: main – 12 MP, front – 8 MP.

The smartphone is equipped with a proprietary Kirin 658 chipset, its maximum clock frequency reaches 2.35 GHz. Paired with quite productive GPU and 3 GB random access memory This is quite enough for both everyday tasks and games. Things are even better with the camera.

The 12-megapixel main photosensor takes pictures more than well. In general, the quality of the P10 Lite can be compared with the original Huawei P10. The camera phone has good potential for night shooting, a slight blurring of small details does not spoil the overall impressions of the picture. There's even some semblance of a portrait mode in the camera app. True, it does not always work correctly and can sometimes blur the contours of the photographed object.

Conclusion: a good option for purchase, I was especially pleased with the presence of a portrait mode. Although it cannot compare with that of smartphones with dual cameras, its very presence is a huge plus compared to its competitors.

Motorola Moto G5s

  • Screen: IPS, 5.2” FullHD;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (1.4 GHz);
  • Memory: 3/32 GB;
  • Camera: main – 16 MP, front – 5 MP.

The Moto G5s is the epitome of compactness. With a 5.2-inch display, the smartphone fits very comfortably in the hand, and the front glass panel gives it a modern look. True, there is some risk of losing this very panel if the smartphone falls.

The Moto G5s camera has great potential for high-quality photography. In order to use this tool 100%, we recommend working in manual mode. The slightly “crooked” software does not always accurately adjust white balance and shutter speed to the surrounding environment. The front 5-megapixel camera is paired with an LED flash, so you can take pretty decent selfies in any conditions.

Conclusion: feel free to choose this model if you already have extensive experience working with the camera in manual mode.

Motorola Moto G5s

Phones with a good camera up to 20,000 rubles

Samsung Galaxy A5 2017

  • Screen: SuperAMOLED, 5.2” FullHD;
  • Processor: Exynos 7880 (1.9 GHz);
  • Memory: 3/32 GB;
  • Camera: main – 16 MP, front – 16 MP.

The 2017 Galaxy A5 model received a key improvement for the line - IP68 water protection. Now a smartphone can be underwater for just over 30 minutes without serious consequences for the electronics. Competitors in the same price category have not yet presented such a good solution in their devices.

A 16-megapixel sensor with an f/1.9 aperture is used as the main photo module. Focal length – 27 mm. The main camera of the Galaxy A5 2017 works quite well, although it lacks optical stabilization when shooting videos.

Conclusion: typical smartphoneSamsung is in the mid-price category. An ideal choice between flagships and cheaper devices.

Samsung Galaxy A5

Meizu M6 Note

  • Screen: IPS, 5.5” FullHD;
  • Memory: 3/32 GB;
  • Camera: main – dual module 12+5 MP, front – 16 MP.

The camera characteristics of the Meizu phablet are quite good: Sony module IMX362, aperture ƒ/1.9 for the main lens and ƒ/2.0 for the secondary one. At the same time, the smartphone can record fairly high-quality 4K videos, but without optical stabilization.

The M6 Note has a portrait mode. True, autofocus in it does not always cope with its task clearly, so often the focus point on the main object has to be selected manually. The front 16-megapixel camera pleased me; all the details of the face are clearly visible indoors. If necessary, you can activate the built-in beautifier.

Conclusion: a smartphone with a good camera under 20,000 rubles. DefinitelyMeizu finally managed to break the “black streak” of failures with the cameras of its own devices.

Huawei Nova 2

  • Screen: IPS, 5” FullHD;
  • Processor: HiSilicon Kirin 659 (2.36 GHz);
  • Memory: 4/64 GB;
  • Camera: main – dual module 12+8 MP, front – 20 MP.

The resolution of the front camera seems to hint at what the brand's marketers were betting on. Yes, the Nova 2 takes excellent selfies, which are very hard to find fault with. However, smartphones with 8-megapixel front cameras can shoot almost the same way.

The main dual camera produced excellent shots even in the twilight. Subjectively, it can be compared with the Huawei P10 photo module. Portrait mode clearly highlights the outline of the subject against a blurred background.

Conclusion: Chinese smartphones with a good camera they never cease to please with their price tag. Nova 2 may well even compete with some flagships.

Phones with a good camera up to 25,000 rubles

ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom

  • Screen: IPS, 5.5” FullHD;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 (2.0 GHz);
  • Memory: 4/64 GB;
  • Camera: main – dual module 12+12 MP, front – 13 MP.

ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom is not a phone for small hands; the device is quite large and not very convenient to operate with one hand. Externally, it very much resembles the iPhone 7, especially from the back. This is largely due to the dual camera module in the upper left corner.

Inside there is an IMX362 sensor on the main lens. Its optics are responsible for 2x zoom; after a closer approach, the camera switches to software zoom. It looks very cool, and the clarity of small details is not lost even at maximum magnification.

Conclusion: an excellent camera phone, only if you are not bothered by its dimensions.

ASUS ZenFone 3 Zoom

Meizu Pro 7

  • Screen: IPS, 5.2” FullHD;
  • Processor: Mediatek Helio P25 (2.6 GHz);
  • Memory: 4/64 GB;
  • Camera: main – dual module 12+12 MP, front – 16 MP.

The initial concepts of Pro 7 surprised everyone, because Meizu decided to make a smartphone in a new form factor. On its back panel there is an additional display that allows you to take excellent selfies with the main dual camera.

Inside, it uses a dual SONY IMX386 sensor that supports 4K shooting, software frame enhancement and dual lens blur mode. The clarity and color rendition of the footage is amazing, Meizu Pro 7 has huge potential for professional photography.

Conclusion: the best camera phones of 2018-2019 could not do without this unique model, Pro 7 - perfect smartphone for selfies.

Xiaomi Mi5s

  • Screen: IPS, 5.15” FullHD;
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 (2.45 GHz);
  • Memory: 4/32 GB;
  • Camera: main – 12 MP, front – 4 MP.

Having a dual photo module does not mean amazing photo quality. Xiaomi Mi5s completely proves this. In daylight, a smartphone with a single photo module showed its best performance, paying attention to small details and white balance.

There are small problems with shooting video at night, but this is not critical. This kind of distortion occurs on almost all devices in this price category. For smoother operation, we recommend using manual mode.

About technology dual camera in modern smartphones. Today this is one of the most current trends in smartphone manufacturing.

Now we have decided to take away best camera phones, which can be considered as a potential purchase as of now (July 2017). If you want to decorate your Instagram or, as a mobile photographer, are looking for a decent smartphone with a great camera - this article will help you choose what you need.

Five best camera phones of 2016. Selecting ZOOM

LG G5

LG G5 () practically blew up the MWC 2016 mobile industry exhibition and left no one indifferent. While competitors are developing modular smartphones(), LG has created a device with a replaceable bottom frame, which helps you replace the battery without removing the back cover. In fact, this is the first time such a solution has been found on the smartphone market. There are several removable modules to choose from: additional battery, CAM Plus and Hi-Fi player.

The LG G5 has a dual main camera, which means that images from two cameras are combined into one to make photos clearer. One of them received a resolution of 16 MP, an f/1.8 lens, an optical stabilization system and laser autofocus. The second is a wide-angle lens, f/2.4 aperture and an 8 MP sensor. As for the front camera, its resolution is 8 MP.

The LG CAM Plus module makes the smartphone more comfortable for shooting: it has a shutter button, a zoom wheel and an LED indicator. In addition, it increases the battery capacity to 4000 mAh.

It is worth noting that a simplified version of the smartphone is sold in Russia - LG G5 SE.

Samsung Galaxy S7

Many experts agreed: the Samsung Galaxy S7 () camera is an ideal example of how a flagship should take photographs. Compared to its “big brother”, it focuses and launches the camera faster. Due to this, the mode of continuous shooting, dynamic shooting and shooting in the dark has been improved. And if in the previous smartphone the main camera received a resolution of 16 MP, then in the Samsung Galaxy S7 it is only 12 MP. Despite this, the photos turn out no worse (and in the evening, even better).

The smartphone has a Sony IMX260 camera module with f/1.7 aperture and a pixel size of 1.4 microns. Due to the larger pixel size, more light enters the sensor compared to the S6. This is what makes the photo better. In addition, the Galaxy S7 can take pictures with a beautiful blurred background.

It is worth noting the Dual Pixel function - the Koreans installed two photodiodes in each pixel in order to speed up autofocus. Now not 5-10% of pixels take part in focusing, but 100%.

Apple iPhone 6s

iPhone () has been a favorite among users who are interested in mobile photography for many years. And it’s not just that the smartphone takes good pictures and works stably. Its operating system comes with a huge number of image processing applications that are not available on other platforms.

The iPhone's camera has only improved in terms of megapixels. Now it has a resolution of 12 MP, so the pictures are even more detailed.

iOS 9 also features a new Live photo feature that lets you bring your frame to life at any time. This opportunity has already existed HTC smartphones And Windows Phone. In order for the photo to move, you don’t need to install any additional software – everything just works by default.

Huawei P9

The company presented the smartphone in early April this year in London. The peculiarity of this camera phone is its two main cameras. And unlike the LG G5 cameras, additional camera Huawei P9 (http://site/publication/item/56022) has a black and white sensor and collects all the light. This increases dynamic range and sensitivity. And the second module allows you to get an aperture from f/0.95 to f/16. This is achieved programmatically and works better than many competitors.

Both modules received the same resolution of 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture, viewing angle of 27 mm, pixel size of 1.25 microns. They work as follows: the right module shoots in color, and the left one shoots in monochrome. One sensor receives more information about dynamic range, and the second one fixes the color. Then the data from the two matrices is combined.

Cameras are also needed for more accurate focusing, despite the fact that there is both laser autofocus and standard slow contrast.

Another feature of the second module is that it can take frames with an aperture of f/0.95, although not without the help of software. The result is a frame with a blurred background, and it’s worth giving credit to Huawei programmers: this time the function works much better than in other devices with software background blur.

Interestingly, the company developed the optics together with the famous German company Leica. So there is a real beast hiding inside the smartphone that meets German standards. Leica assessed image quality in terms of color rendering, white balance, diffuse light reduction, exposure accuracy, aperture, sharpness and noise performance.

Nexus 6P

This time Google company developed a smartphone together with Huawei. And it’s worth noting that the result is a high-quality and budget-friendly camera phone. A 12.3 MP sensor is installed here and instead of increasing the number of MPs, the Koreans increased their size to 1.55 microns. The Nexus 6P also has a fast camera, f/2.0 (the average is f/2.2). So even in low light, more light reaches the sensor, so details are visible in the photo with less noise. In addition, it is equipped with laser autofocus and dual multi-color flash.

The front camera has a resolution of 8 MP and an f/2.4 aperture. It does not have autofocus, however, in terms of selfie quality, the smartphone has surpassed its predecessor Nexus 5.

Does the gadget's camera have any features? Yes, for example:

  • The Nexus 6P shoots slo-mo video at 240fps.
  • The camera app supports Smartburst, which lets you hold down the shutter button to shoot burst photos at 30 frames per second.
  • The Nexus 6P supports electronic image stabilization technology, which is almost as good as optical stabilization.

Used for shooting Google app The camera and it somewhat limits the photographer’s capabilities: you cannot adjust the ISO, adjust the exposure, or specify the focal length, but on the screen you can tap on the object you want to focus on. However, the resulting photos are comparable in quality to the Galaxy S7 and LG G5.

As for the Mi 8 model we chose, it is one of the best solutions based on Snapdragon 845.

If copying doesn’t bother you, then it’s definitely worth taking a closer look at this new product.

However, in addition to the powerful “stuffing”, the smartphone also boasts an excellent AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2248x1080 pixels and a diagonal of 6.21 inches. Traditionally for modern flagships, the Xiaomi Mi 8 display contains a notch. However, the latter not only has cameras, a speaker, a notification LED and other sensors like most competitors, but also an infrared scanner needed for face unlock.

The main camera of the smartphone contains a pair of 12 MP models, one of which is supplied by Sony (IMX363, f/1.8, 4-axis stabilization), and the second is purchased from the Koreans from Samsung (S5K3M3, f/2.4). The manufacturer purchases modules for the main cameras from Sony. One of the sensors (IMX380) has a resolution of 12 MP, f/1.8 aperture and a focal length of 25 mm, the second (IMX350) has 20 MP, f/2.6, 39 mm. Next to them is a ring flash with 6 diodes, in the center of which there is a laser autofocus. The resolution and aperture of the front module are 20 MP and f/2.0, respectively, and ArcSoft algorithms help it take pictures.

Advantages:

  • individuality and attractiveness of design;
  • excellent rear camera and good front camera;
  • sound quality in speakers and headphones;
  • excellent AMOLED display from Samsung.

Flaws:

  • NFC is missing.

The past year was truly successful for Huawei. The manufacturer, one after another, released first-class smartphones that delighted fans and brought profit. New policy The Chinese brand was aimed at covering all price segments of the market, and if you want to decide which camera phone is best to buy in the 20-30 thousand rubles category, we strongly recommend that you take a closer look at the Nova 3 model.

The smartphone is equipped with dual modules for both the main and front cameras. Only in the first case, one of the modules is color (16 MP), and the second is black and white (24 MP). The front camera contains a pair of color sensors of 24 and 2 MP.

The camera phone is equipped with a balanced “filling”, USB-C port 2.0 standard, as well as a 3750 mAh battery that supports fast charging. The design of the smartphone is similar to other products of the company: an elongated body, rounded corners, a screen with a cutout and a 19:9 ratio, a metal frame, and a gradient color. By the way, a good protective film was initially glued to the display. In addition to this, the buyer will find headphones in the kit, and they please with more or less good quality.

Advantages:

  • high-quality display made using LTPS technology;
  • takes great photos;
  • dual front camera;
  • good equipment;
  • attractive design;
  • excellent equipment;
  • excellent system optimization.

Flaws:

  • The cameras do not have stabilization.

The best smartphones with a good camera under 50,000 rubles

More recently, manufacturers offered flagship devices for 50 thousand rubles. Today, the cost of top-end devices is two or even three times higher. But the functionality and quality of mobile phones have also increased significantly. Moreover, this is true for both flagships and more affordable smartphones. For example, in price range up to 50,000 today more advanced smartphones are offered than the flagships released 2-3 years ago. For the same price, some companies offer some of their best smartphones, whose relevance both in terms of hardware and cameras will remain for several years.

Starts the Galaxy A9 category from the South Korean brand Samsung. Looking at one of the best camera phones of this year, it immediately becomes clear that it is an analogue of the A7 model described above, but with an additional main camera, an excellent hardware platform and slightly changed ergonomics. And although these differences are enough to talk about different devices, in fact we get very close models.

Without going into details, we note that the smartphone’s hardware is sufficient for current games and modern applications, and on its large 6.3-inch display it is convenient to play, watch videos, surf the Internet and communicate on social networks. With autonomy, everything is also in order, for which we should thank the 3800 mAh battery. I would like to dwell in more detail on the cameras and the need for four main modules at once:

  1. Main (24 MP, f/1.7)
  2. Telephoto lens (10 MP, f/2.4, 2x optical zoom)
  3. Wide-angle (8 MP, f/2.4, 120 degree view)
  4. Portrait (5 MP, f/2.2, Live Focus option)

The latter is solely responsible for determining the depth of field, so it does not play the main role in the quartet. But the photos in the appropriate mode are really very good. The main 24-megapixel module copes well with shooting in low light, and the telephoto lens provides x2 image magnification without loss of quality.

As a result, the Galaxy A9 takes beautiful pictures that you'll love ordinary users and mobile photographers. True, the need for 4 modules at once is very doubtful, because 2-3 modules can do the same thing, and the Pixel can cope with only one. Most likely, the manufacturer made this decision so that they would talk about it as a brand that was the first to release a smartphone with four main cameras.

Advantages:

  • attractive body colors;
  • impressive autonomy of the device;
  • optimal choice of hardware platform;
  • The pictures taken with the main camera are very decent;
  • nice price tag.

Flaws:

  • four cameras are not at all necessary;
  • The housing is not protected from moisture and dust.

2. Sony Xperia XA2 Ultra Dual 32GB

The Sony brand is one of the few that does not follow popular trends, but maintains an individual style. Released last January Xperia The XA2 Ultra did not receive a “bang” or even an elongated display. Its 6-inch screen has a classic FHD resolution, and the device has only one main camera (23-megapixel module with f/2.0 aperture, 24 mm focal length and 84-degree viewing angle). The front panel of the device is equipped with a pair of 16 and 8 MP sensors.

The smartphone with the best camera from Sony in the category up to 50 thousand is built on the basis of the “stone” Snapdragon 630 and is supplemented with 4/32 GB of RAM/permanent memory.

If the storage available in the device is not enough for you, then the device additionally allows you to install a microSD card with a capacity of up to 256 GB. It’s nice that the slot for it is separated from the two SIM cards. There are no complaints about the assembly of the smartphone, enclosed in a durable aluminum case. As for autonomy, the buyer can count on a confident day of operation of the device in mixed mode, which can be provided by a 3580 mAh battery.

Advantages:

  • attractive and original design;
  • excellent hardware performance;
  • quite capacious battery;
  • quality, brightness and screen diagonal;
  • dual front camera;
  • shooting with the main sensor.

Flaws:

  • the price is a bit high.

3. Samsung Galaxy S9+ 64GB

Next up is one of the current flagships from Samsung. The Galaxy S9+ model is equipped with a 6.2-inch Super AMOLED display with Quad HD resolution, an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and traditional rounded side edges for the line. The device also has a button voice assistant Bixby, which is quite useless in Russia and the CIS countries. Alas, it is not yet possible to reassign it without additional software.

The smartphone boasts a rich package, including headphones from AGK, an adapter from Type-C to Micro USB, as well as an OTG adapter necessary for connection external drives, peripherals and other devices.

A smartphone with a really good camera from Samsung can boast of housing protection from moisture, water and dust according to the IP68 standard. And this despite the fact that the standard 3.5 mm jack was not removed from the smartphone. The hardware platform of the device may differ by region: either an Exynos CPU with a Mali GPU, or a combination of Snapdragon and Adreno. At the same time, the RAM and permanent memory in the device are always 6 and 64 GB.

Advantages:

  • excellent main cameras (2 x 12 MP);
  • productive hardware platform;
  • attractive design in Samsung style;
  • full protection of the case from water and dust;
  • there is a 3.5 mm headphone jack;
  • one of the best displays;
  • excellent sound;
  • decent autonomy (3500 mAh battery).

Flaws:

  • Useless, non-reusable Bixby button.

4. OnePlus 6 8/128GB

OnePlus has changed a lot since the presentation of its first smartphone. Phones that were once called flagship killers now cost almost as much as some top-end devices from rival manufacturers. But along with the price tag, the capabilities, quality and design appeal of smartphones from the Chinese brand have also increased. The perfect confirmation of these words is the smartphone with the best camera according to user reviews – OnePlus 6.

The best model of the brand at the end of January 2019 is the 6T. However, the cameras and hardware in this device are similar, and among the important advantages of the updated smartphone are a slightly larger display with a smaller notch and an under-screen fingerprint scanner. At the same time, the new product was left without a 3.5 mm jack and went up in price by about $130, which, in the opinion of our editors, makes it less interesting compared to the OnePlus 6.

The phone is equipped with an excellent dual main camera with 16 and 20 MP modules. The manufacturer chose a 16-megapixel sensor as the front module. The rear modules of the device boast a portrait mode, x2 optical zoom, as well as optical stabilization when shooting video.

The hardware platform of the camera phone includes Snapdragon 845, Adreno 630, as well as 128 and 8 GB of permanent and RAM. The device is powered by a 3300 mAh battery that supports the proprietary Dash Charge fast charging function. We also note the high-quality 6.28-inch AMOLED display, which is one of the best on the market.

Advantages:

  • operating system performance;
  • There will be enough “stuffing” for years to come;
  • mode switch lever;
  • there is a jack for regular headphones;
  • Excellent shooting with the rear camera.

Flaws:

  • Always On mode does not work, although the AMOLED screen;
  • imperfection of unlocking the device by face.

The best premium camera phones

You can get great pictures with inexpensive devices. But if you want to not only do good photos, but also play everything modern games, without worrying that after a few years the selected device will not cope with new projects, then you should choose a premium smartphone. Of course, excellent performance is not all that top devices have to offer. Their advantages also include excellent appearance, high-quality materials that are unavailable for the middle and lower price segments, perfect assembly and unique features that will only appear in more affordable devices in a few years.

1. Apple iPhone Xs 64GB

If you want to choose a smartphone for photography and video among products from Apple, then one of the most interesting solutions available on the market today is the iPhone Xs. This device is equipped with the most modern A12 Bionic processor, which outperforms even the recently released Snapdragon 855, devices based on which are just beginning to go on sale. The smartphone also has two 12 MP main cameras that take excellent photos and first-class videos with optical stabilization.

If the iPhone Xs suits you in all respects, but you would prefer a display with a larger diagonal, then take a closer look at the Max version of this device. There are not too many differences between these smartphones, because even the increase in display diagonal to 6.5 inches did not affect the pixel density of the first-class OLED matrix (458 ppi). The hardware and cameras of both devices are similar, but the Max version received a slightly larger battery (3400 versus 2800 mAh).

The IP67 housing protection that appeared in the iPhone X migrated to new smartphone, making it a great holiday destination. There is also fast and wireless charging, but for each of them you will have to purchase the appropriate charger. As for the screen, it again beats all competitors. Its resolution is 2436x1125 pixels (463 ppi) with a diagonal of 5.8 inches and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen has a “notch”, the fashion for which was set by Apple itself, where the best infrared face sensor, which is presented in portable technology today, is installed.

Advantages:

  • large and colorful screen;
  • luxurious updated cameras;
  • sound in speakers and headphones;
  • good level of autonomy;
  • machine learning capability;
  • the most productive hardware;
  • reliability of unlocking using Face ID;
  • impeccable build quality and materials.

Flaws:

  • impressive cost;
  • no adapter for 3.5 mm;
  • complete power supply without fast charging.

2.Huawei P20 Pro

The review ends with a smartphone with the best camera on the market – Huawei P20 Pro. This device is the leader in the DxOMark rating, and only the new Mate 20 Pro, which is also produced by Huawei, can compete with it. The main camera of the phone contains three sensors at once: 40, 20 and 8 MP. Optical zoom, monochrome shooting or background blur – this smartphone everything is within my reach. In the video recording, the P20 Pro also shows itself at its best, while offering proprietary features.

The screen of the reviewed model is made using AMOLED technology. The display resolution and diagonal are 2240x1080 and 6.1 inches, respectively. As for performance, it is responsible for the top-end Kirin processor, which is produced by Uaway itself, as well as Mali-G72 graphics and 6 GB of fast RAM. All this is powered by a 4000 mAh battery. A pleasant bonus for buyers will be the protection of the P20 Pro smartphone from water, splashes and dust according to the IP67 standard.

Advantages:

  • built-in main camera with AI;
  • attractive design and colors;
  • impressive performance;
  • large battery capacity;
  • 128 gigabytes of storage;
  • amazing display.

Flaws:

  • rejection of the 3.5 mm jack;
  • slippery body (corrected with a cover).

Which camera phone is better to buy?

The above review of smartphones with the best cameras will allow any user to choose an excellent device, regardless of their budget. For just 9 thousand, consumers can buy Meiza. Analogues from Xiaomi and Samsung will cost a little more, and the latter is even equipped with NFC. The same brands are represented on average price segment, but worthy competition is Nova 3, produced by Huawei. Among the top smartphones for taking photos and videos, the iPhone Xs is best suited if you prefer iOS, and the Huawei P20 Pro is best for Android fans.
