Screen - 4.0

Screen diagonal - 4.8 inches, matrix type - Super AMOLED HD, resolution - 1280x720 pixels, protective coating - Gorilla Glass, PPI value - 306. The advantages of the display are a large diagonal and high resolution, excellent brightness and contrast. The screen will appeal to lovers of bright colors. Cons: Super AMOLED technology, which makes the image too contrasty; not everyone will like it. At close range, the picture on the screen of the Samsung Galaxy S3 looks grainy and unclear, and when using the smartphone for a long time, especially in reading mode, your eyes get tired. An indirect advantage of using Super AMOLED is the energy-intensive screen, which is why the Galaxy S3 lasts longer on a single charge than many competitors.

The well-known company Samsung has long since launched its new development around the world, which became the third in the Galaxy S line. This stylish, attractive gadget instantly filled the world market with its capabilities. It's no secret that mobile phones today can be said to be one of the important elements of the life of modern society. It is hardly possible to imagine a person who does not have his own mobile phone. However, if a Samsung Galaxy S3 falls into the hands of a user, it is unlikely that it will be so easy to part with it.
Why this particular model, you ask. It's no secret that Samsung has been fighting for dominance in the advanced technology market for many years. It seems to me that the proof of this is their new devices, which every day are increasingly beginning to penetrate the gadget market, where their developments take pride of place.
We should not forget that the top companies of modern society fight among themselves every day, some borrow the ideas of others, while others simply copy. However, some manage to combine all the indicators into one single one and get an almost perfect device, but we all know that the race for technology does not allow new products to last long on the sales market, because after the release of one device, literally following it to conquer open spaces, a new miracle creation is released from the “hangar”, and therefore it turns out that companies are simply forced to fight with each other.
It should be noted that the Samsung Galaxy S3 became something similar, which still managed to reach the very top, where respect and popularity awaited it. The gadget has received under its control all new technologies and capabilities that only make work easier for a person: powerful, convenient, stylish. We dedicated this review to him - after all, the new product from Samsung was among those who were most expected - this is the third model in the Galaxy S family. We can talk a lot about it, but let's move on to the device itself and study its capabilities and technical characteristics in more detail .

Samsung's flagship – Galaxy S3

Actually, let's start from the very beginning. The developers were not even too lazy to pack their miracle in a rather attractive box that does not take up much space.

We open it and here it is - a device that can charm many. Let's open it, and there: communicator, battery, Micro-USB-USB cord, network Charger with USB-compatible connector, wired stereo headset with a set of spare tips, documentation. There is one more highlight - if you turn the box over, you can see all the necessary information about the Galaxy S3. In other words, the developers did everything to ensure that the user received everything necessary for work.

Let's move on to the characteristics of the device:

  • Samsung Exynos 4412 processor (quad-core ARM Cortex A9, 1.4 GHz) with ARM Mali-400 MP4 video core
  • operating room Android system 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich)

Elegant and individual Samsung Galaxy S3

Samsung's new flagship has become something new when compared with its peers. If previous versions, one might say, took the features of the well-known iPhone, then the third generation in the Galaxy S line became a kind of individual personality, which hardly anyone could find fault with, it became itself.

The appearance is very attractive, once you pick up the device you forget about all the problems, you just want to turn it on. The slightly curved body only adds to its external beauty, but let's not dwell on the appearance of the device. Of course, this is a rather important factor for some users and the convenience of using the gadget depends on it, but it is unlikely that Samsung has placed any strong emphasis on this; everything important is stored inside and not outside.

The device screen occupies almost the entire front part of the device, where you can find only three buttons: to the left of the central key there is a button to call up the program menu, to the right - to return to the previous screen. I found it very convenient to work with one hand. But it is worth noting that people with short fingers are unlikely to be able to freely press their thumb across the entire screen area, but I do not think that this will be such a big problem for users. It should be noted that the third generation in the Galaxy S line has most likely become a full-fledged communicator, which should be operated not with one, but with two hands, which makes working with the device much easier.

There is also no unnecessary stuff on the sides: an on/off button and a volume control.

At the top of the Samsung Galaxy S 3 there is a headphone jack and an additional microphone. The main microphone and Micro-USB-compatible connector are located at the bottom end of the case.

The device is also equipped with two cameras. Sensors are located next to the additional camera. To the left of it there is now an information LED, which can be noted as a huge step forward by the company in terms of ergonomics.

Our gadget has a very attractive color - blue metallic, but there is one small drawback; the communicator should buy a case, because back panel The device quickly receives scratches that are invisible at first glance. But you shouldn’t miss one point: the assembly of the device is very professional, there are no protruding or loose parts, the assembly was taken very seriously.

We open the back cover of the device and see a very interesting picture, the battery is located there, but there is room for microSIM cards and memory cards are no longer located under it, which makes replacing them very simple; now you don’t need to remove the battery.

Once you gain access to the battery compartment, it becomes possible to replace the memory card without disconnecting the battery. By the way, if you look at the location of the battery and microSIM card, the question arises: what actually caused the need to use a SIM card slot of this particular format? There is so much space that a regular-sized SIM card could easily fit. However, as I think, microSIM is quite inconvenient, it is not clear why the developers came to such a decision to install it in their device, because there is enough space. What’s most interesting is that it’s not so easy to get the SIM out; it feels like once you put it in, it’s simply impossible to get it out again.

If we sum up the appearance of the Galaxy S 3, we can say that the new product has become quite convenient and has received new forms that should be of interest to many users. Of course, there are disadvantages, but you shouldn’t focus your attention on these little things. Overall everything is great.

Samsung Galaxy S3 software

So, let's move on to the main question - what does the new flagship contain? samsung phone Galaxy S3? The device received the latest version of the OS under its control Android versions 4.0.4. Also, you should not miss another important fact: the company has installed the TouchWiz shell on its offspring.

The screen is unlocked by moving your finger. We immediately have access to: ChatON, Camera, Samsung Apps, Play Store, phone, contacts, messages, browser. Also, do not forget that the developers have added quite interesting “goodies” to the screen lock security methods - a face and a voice.

As for the shell of the main screen itself, there have been no special changes, so you don’t have to dwell on this point and not go into details (the weather widget has been combined with a clock, a denser placement of icons has made it possible to place another icon in the list of main applications). Also notable are the applications that received the S prefix: S Memo, S Planner, S Suggest, S Voice. As for the latter, you should not lose sight of it. We all know the famous electronic assistant Siri, which has become a kind of basis for building a new type of user interaction with a computer, and so, Samsung, in response to this application, released its own - S Voice. A very convenient function for a communicator; the voice is recognized very well, but do not forget that it is especially convenient for people who know English language. It should also be noted that with the help of this program you can perform literally any action and your actions are not limited to just calling a subscriber or, for example, typing a message.

Note that S Voice strives to be user-friendly and replicates much of Siri's functionality. It wouldn't be surprising if both applications use the same knowledge bases. However, both systems still need to be improved. Today, in my opinion, they are not ideal.

However, you shouldn’t stop at just one program, because Samsung developers have invested enormous efforts in creating such a flagship model and managed to stuff the device with a huge number of different applications. Some are responsible for messaging (Chat ON), others allow you to remotely connect to the content of media servers via an Internet connection (various games, books, music, programs and much more).

All applications work quite quickly, you even have the opportunity to use your imagination and customize the phone to suit your personal character, you can even install an application with which you can take measurements of rooms and take notes there, install a flashlight and much more. In a word, the developers have given enormous opportunities to their users; all that remains is to learn how to use it wisely.
Don't miss another point - the device has received another interesting application - Dropbox - a cloud storage and file synchronization service. Third-generation Galaxy S users can use up to 50 GB of virtual storage disk space, and this is already very serious.

If we draw a small conclusion, we can say that Samsung is not looking for easy ways and offers its users more and more advanced technologies. Everyone can make a choice about how and what they will use, all that remains is to wait and think - which of the proposed ones will be of more interest modern society, and what will not receive special attention, after which you can already create something new.

Display capabilities and sound

Display
If we compare the device’s display with other devices, we can say that it is somewhat reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus screen:
  • Matrix sizes 4.65 and 4.8 inches
  • Matrix type - HD SuperAMOLED
  • Resolution 720 by 1280 pixels

The AMOLED display of the Galaxy S 3 has very high brightness, which is adjusted automatically. However, the automation sometimes begins to disappoint, so to speak - the brightness often begins to switch, which is especially inconvenient when watching videos. The display sensor itself is very sensitive and is capable of recognizing multiple touches at the same time. However, let's focus on video playback.
The built-in video player works quite nicely and can even play Full HD. Of course, you can install third-party players that will work better, but I didn’t really need it. The factory video player is capable of minimizing into a window that hangs on top of other programs and continuing playback while the user goes about his business. There is also an opinion that standard video and audio players now have the ability to stream to any DLNA device on the network (connect to a TV Samsung Smart TV, etc.), but I did not have such an opportunity.

Sound
As for the sound, almost everything is decent and there is enough of it. However, I wasn’t particularly pleased with the headset that came with the device; at maximum volume it starts to “hurt” my ears, but this moment only happens when you turn on the radio, which is a very interesting fact, but when playing tunes from the player everything is fine decently. You can listen to calm music with great pleasure, but the bass, in my personal opinion, is not enough. As for the radio receiver itself, it has the ability to support RDS and can record a signal in the form of 3GA files (very convenient, you can record your favorite music, an interview or a radio program into the device). Quite convenient to use and does not cause much trouble.

Connection

Samsung's flagship communicator received under its control everything that was possible, full set modules wireless communication, the only thing missing is 4G support. Special problems with cellular communication I haven't found that surfing the Internet is a pleasure, especially if you connect to a high-speed connection via Wi-Fi.
Bluetooth and Wi-Fi module versions:
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n (Support: Wi-Fi Direct, point Wi-Fi access, DLNA, Kies Air).

Another great news worth noting is that the third generation of the Galaxy S line supports Glonass. The user of the device can now determine his location, which is provided by the signal from our satellites.

Camera

Galaxy S3 received the same camera as its predecessor - 8 Megapixels. You can record video at Fukk HD 1080p resolution at 30 frames per second. (MP4 (H.264, AAC)). The camera also received an autofocus system and an LED flash, which can be used as a flashlight using the application. In a second you can take several photos at once that are of good quality.
You should not lose sight of the fact that the camera has the ability to recognize faces when shooting, plus all this - taking pictures directly during video recording and an image stabilization system. The quality of photos and videos is very decent, here are a few options:

Speed and performance

Samsung's flagship Galaxy S3 is powered by a chip developed by the company itself - Exynos 4412, which includes four ARM Cortex-A9 computing cores operating at 1.4 GHz and an ARM Mali-400 MP4 video processor. The amount of DDR2 RAM is 1 GB.

Performance tests:

Softweg Benchmark 1.03

Quadrant Standard test

Test in AnTuTu Benchmark 2.8

Calculating pi in Super Pi:

From the tests conducted above, we can safely say that the Samsung Galaxy S3 is undoubtedly at the very top.

Conclusion

If you look at the overall current situation, we can safely say that the Samsung Galaxy S3 managed to get its gold and rise to the very top of fame. This is a powerful communicator that few will be able to compete with in 2012. Its main rival will most likely remain the iPhone 5, which has also exploded into the sales market. Of course, after some time something new and more modern will be released, but today this Samsung flagship has still managed to conquer a huge number of users. Perhaps many will say that the price for it is greatly inflated; one can hardly disagree with this. However, this is better than the numerous clones that have been roaming around the world for many years; the price and quality speak volumes.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, as you know, will go on sale on June 5 and will cost RUB 29,990. At the start of sales, a 16Gb version will be available, a 32Gb version will appear a little later (in Europe, a 16 and 32Gb version will be immediately available), but the 64Gb version will most likely go on sale towards the end of summer, beginning of autumn. The SGS3 will be sold in two colors: blue (sea pebbles) and white (white marble). If you place an order through the website samsung.ru, you will receive a free cover case (white or blue) along with your smartphone.

I got my hands on a blue device. On full review I’ll try to take it in white to form my opinion about the beauty of this or that color, but everything is individual, so I recommend evaluating and choosing your own color before purchasing.

I won’t go into technical specifications, but although...

Camera.Galaxy SIII already has CMOS8Mp Samsung LSI S5C73M3 with backlight(http://patchwork.linuxtv.org/patch/10708/). There is no data on the sensor on the Internet yet, but let’s just say that the quality of photos/videos taken with the SGS3 will differ from the SGS2 and Note . How much and in what direction?

Wi-Fi. Bluetooth Samsung Galaxy S3 has a new chip Broadcom BCM4334(Galaxy Note had BCM4330).

Broadcom Specifications BCM4334:

Vision is deceiving

Amazing things happen, so the Galaxy S3 in the photos and videos seemed to me, to put it mildly, not very good, especially its back part, but in practice everything turned out to be noticeably better.

“Live” it looks noticeably better - this is noted not only by me, but also by other journalists who managed to hold it in their hands.

Surprisingly, the smartphone fits perfectly in the hand thanks to the same “soapy” shape of the back cover. Even my Galaxy Nexus with its ribbed back cover does not feel so confident in the hand, but the Samsung Galaxy SIII “sinks” in the hand, completely immersing itself in the palm, in such a way that it is fixed in the hand by the side edges, while back cover is in close contact with the palm.

I was afraid that because of the gloss it would slip, but it turned out that it lies confidently in the hand.

Almost the entire front surface is occupied by a large 4.8" HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280x720 pixels.

PenTile is evil or will it work?

Matrix PenTile(a feature of this matrix is the smaller number of subpixels per pixel compared to a conventional RGB matrix) and you shouldn’t be afraid of this, since the screen resolution is high. If you've seen the Galaxy Nexus screen (4.65"), then the Galaxy S3 screen will be comparable in quality. Yes, it has a slightly larger diagonal (4.8") and, accordingly, a lower pixel density, but the Galaxy Note has an even lower pixel density and that's okay, people doesn't complain. Of course, this screen is inferior in terms of clarity of small fonts to iPhone screens 4/iPhone 4S, HTC One X.

If you open the site in portrait mode without zooming and look at the small text, you will already be able to notice individual pixels, but again, if you look at it from a close distance. In all other moments the picture is clear and you won’t see any pixels.

There is also a plus in PenTile matrices, so you can adjust the screen brightness from very low to maximum, like on the Galaxy Nexus.

Inspecting the body

Let's quickly go through the basic elements. On the front panel on top there are various sensors, a 1.9Mp camera with the ability to record 720p video, as well as missed events indicator.

On the left side there is a volume rocker. The location is good, since you can reach the volume increase without moving the smartphone in your hand.

On the other edge, the power button is conveniently located right under the index finger.

The bottom is like most smartphones: a microUSB connector and a microphone.

Separately, I would like to note that the back cover is covered with scratches and abrasions, but due to the non-uniform blue color, it is difficult to notice these flaws, only at a certain angle and under rays of light.

Comparison with Galaxy Nexus

Below in the photos you can estimate the sizes Samsung Galaxy S3 compared to Galaxy Nexus.

On the SGS3 screen you can see one more news)

Having touch buttons on the screen has its advantages, as you can change the location of the buttons and add others. In some custom firmware, it is even possible to hide these buttons, thereby increasing the working area of the screen, but this is not always convenient, as it requires you to perform certain actions. The Galaxy S3 didn’t try to be clever and left everything as it was before: a central mechanical button, two touch buttons for calling up the menu and back.

I liked that instead of calling up the menu, they didn’t make a separate button for calling up the latest running applications, as is the case with HTC smartphones One. It is worth noting that this issue can be corrected there (getting rid of the menu bar, which occupies part of the screen) by reassigning the functionality of the buttons (root is required).

The narrow mechanical button did not cause me any discomfort, but the location of it and the touch buttons is close to the bottom edge of the smartphone, this fails. If you need to press one of the buttons, whether you want it or not, you will have to hold the smartphone from below with your little finger and this is not so scary, since you can get used to it, but what will be difficult to get used to is the constant random presses touch button"back" when you hold your smartphone in landscape mode (watching videos, working with the camera).

Why did this happen? The answer lies in the carrier versions of SGS3 for other countries. Since the screen occupies almost the entire front surface, Samsung had to lower the buttons lower to the edge of the screen, thereby freeing up space for the operator’s logo.

I am for increasing the size of the smartphone screen, but 4.8" is the limit of comfort.

“Question: we talked about the same thing a year ago about 4-4.3?”

Answer:

SGS3. Dimensions: 70.6 x 136.6 x 8.6mm
SGS2. Dimensions: 66.1 x 125.3 x 8.49mm
Galaxy Nexus. Dimensions: 67.94 x 135.5 x 8.94mm

The SGS2 is rectangular and not as comfortable to hold in your hand. The SGS3 is larger, but it has rounded corners, and if you look at the photo in the review, you will see that manufacturers have begun to reduce the frame, increasing the screen. I do not exclude that in 2013 a smartphone will be released whose entire front part will be occupied by the screen, then it will be possible to reach 5" while maintaining the current dimensions.

What's under the lid?

2100mAh battery

I can’t say anything specific about battery life yet, since I need to test the device for at least a few days, and not a couple of hours, but I definitely noticed that at maximum screen brightness, the Galaxy S3 holds a charge noticeably longer than the Galaxy Nexus. I think you can hope for 5-5.5 hours of screen operation under load: web, mail, some games, youtube, twitter, etc., but if you just watch videos, then the charge will be enough for at least 10 hours.

The SIM card in this device is of a non-standard size, and the microSIM. There are two options: exchange the SIM card from your operator for a microSIM or cut it yourself to the desired size. iPhone owners in this regard it will be easier).

To remove the SIM card you will have to remove the battery; in other cases (insert a SIM card, insert/remove a microSD card) this is not necessary.

Separately, I would like to note that microSD cards up to 64Gb are supported and the file system is supported exFAT at the kernel level, which means that files larger than 4Gb.

Touchwiz. To be or not to be

It’s not so terrible anymore, but there are some negative aspects...

From the positive...

The new unlock screen has become much more functional (you can unlock, launch the camera, browser, phone, Ch@t on). In the couple of hours that I had the device, I still couldn’t find where I could change this list of applications... I would like to assign Ch@t to open instead Messages.

When viewing the latest running applications, you can close everything at once by clicking on the corresponding button. But why “Delete all” and not close...

The most epic fail is the creation of folders. You cannot create a folder by simply transferring one icon to another! You need to call up the menu and select “Create folder”, after which you can put application shortcuts into the empty folder. I'm glad that there is always the opportunity to install another Launcher.

The application icons are cute in places. In general, everything looks good, but the padding on the main screen between the rows of icons is too large.

In the notification shade, we increased the number of icons (on/off Wi-Fi, GPS, mobile data, etc.) and made this list scrollable. It’s bad that you can’t change the location of the icons and open the corresponding functionality with a long tap, for example, Wi-Fi settings.

If you click clear memory, about 400Mb of RAM will remain free.

It's a nice dialer, but you can't swipe between tabs like you can on a bare ICS. You have to reach up and click on the tabs...

The sound is high quality in the headphones, I liked the 7.1 effect.

Camera

If we talk about the camera, the photo quality has become better compared to Galaxy camera Note, but only slightly. Unfortunately, it was not possible to give examples of photos taken outdoors, but for indoors the pictures turned out quite good.

Features of the camera Samsung Galaxy S3 Compared to the SGS2 camera I want to note: better job autofocus in macro mode; high-quality sound recording; better stabilization when shooting video; the ability to take a number of pictures at once; shoot video, while there is the ability to immediately take photos.

Photos taken indoors!

Answers to frequently asked questions

For Galaxy Nexus owners

Should I buy a Samsung Galaxy S3?

Pros of purchasing:

  • Support microSD cards;
  • Better camera (photo, video, sound recording);
  • More autonomy, but no one bothers you to buy an extended battery on the Nexus (a review of 1750/2000/3800mAh batteries will be a little later);
  • Perhaps N.O.V.A. 3 on Nexus will have reduced graphics, but on SGS3 the toy will definitely run without problems and with maximum settings. Following N.O.V.A 3, other hardware-intensive games will appear.

To summarize the above, I would not change Nexus to SGS3, since Nexus has an advantage in Android updates, “naked” Android (AOSP) and price from 14 thousand rubles. When the price of the Galaxy S3 drops below 19 thousand and fully working custom firmware without touchscreen appears, you can think about purchasing it.

For Samsung Galaxy S2 owners

Should I buy SGS3?

Pros of purchasing:

  • Better sound with headphones;
  • Larger screen;
  • Ability to set the screen brightness to the minimum (reading text in poor lighting);
  • More autonomy;
  • There is an NFC chip (for example, you can check how many subway trips are left);
  • Better camera (focuses better up close, quickly takes a series of pictures, records sound better, stabilization works better when recording video).

Yes, it's worth thinking about buying. If 30 thousand rubles. expensive, that is, there are options to order SGS3 from abroad for 21 thousand.

Video review of Samsung Galaxy S3

General impressions

Despite some shortcomings with the location of the buttons, glossy cover and touchscreen, the device will find its buyer and will be sold in millions of units around the world.

P/S/ forgot to write about the bonus +48Gb

Today we have Samsung review Galaxy S3 i9300. This is not just a phone, but a super-sophisticated one. This smartphone is a descendant of two galaxies, dressed in a glossy look. Samsung Galaxy S3 The i9300 is a gadget doomed to success. How is it different from standard Samsung S3?

Concerning appearance, then this multifunctional smartphone is unlikely to turn heads with a regular device for making calls. Despite its size, the phone does not feel heavy in the hand.

There are a lot of rumors and jokes about its design. It seems that due to its huge size, it simply won’t be possible to operate with one hand, but in the situation with the GT i9300, this statement is absolutely false. It’s easy and simple to use, even with a lady’s pen, let alone a man.

The body of the device is made of plastic, although the company initially promised ceramics. The device looks very unusual in appearance, but it is still slippery plastic, which tends to jump out of your hand during operation. Corrugated surfaces are more practical in this regard. But if you purchase an additional case, this will not only save the C3 from scratches, but will also prevent it from slipping out. Although, regarding scratches, it is worth saying that even without an additional case, the gadget will not be scratched in your pocket.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 has a removable back cover, which should be removed very carefully. The reason lies in the fact that it has a large number of latches, and plus plastic is plastic. Although the cover can be replaced independently, even without visiting service center. Its prices are extremely low.

Under the cover you will find a slot for Micro-sim, but to be honest, there is enough space for a standard one. It is unclear what the company was guided by in this case. And also under the cover there is a slot for a MicroSD card, which will further expand the gadget’s memory.

Despite the material and its flexibility, the assembly of the device is excellent, as befits a device from an A-company. There are no backlashes, gaps, nothing moves or twitches. Available in two colors: white and dark blue.

There are several indicators on the front. The left one, for example, will blink if a call is missed or an email has arrived. It's also worth mentioning that the S3 GT-i9300 has an interesting feature. If the owner missed a call or SMS, then when he picks up the phone, it, in turn, will begin to vibrate.

In addition to the alert indicator, there is also a light indicator, which, depending on the amount of light in the room, sets the brightness of the screen for eye comfort and additional charge conservation. However, some users complain that it does it too smoothly.

The right indicator recognizes a face in front of the screen, which is poorly implemented. For example, if the owner is wearing regular glasses, the smartphone does not want to unlock, which creates problems.

At the bottom of the front part there is a familiar mechanical button in the center, with which you can return to the main menu or unlock the smartphone. For the latter case, there is also a special “Mode” button, which is located on the right side. Next to the mechanical button there are touch-sensitive “fountain” buttons for returning and returning to the context menu.

On the back of the device there is an 8 MP camera, LED flash and a very powerful external speaker.

The S3 GT-i9300 is sold in a beautiful blue box, which in addition to the phone itself also contains:

  • MicroUSB cable;
  • socket adapter;
  • instructions, inserts and warranty card;
  • white headphones with a set of three different ear pads - larger, smaller and elliptical.

Screen

The characteristics of the C3 screen are as follows: diagonal - 4.8 inches; resolution - 1280 by 720 pixels. Super Amolled display, which is based on an active matrix of organic light-emitting diodes. These screens have a lot of different advantages. The most important of them is a full viewing angle in all directions while maintaining color, brightness and contrast.

Second generation Gorilla Glass will protect the screen from scratches and abrasions, but will not always protect it from cracks and bruises.

The flickering frequency of the picture is 60 Hz. The display supports multi-touch up to 10 simultaneous touches. Grain is not noticeable either when viewing pictures or when reading text.

Processor and operating system

The device has a quad-core Exynos 4412 processor, which operates at a frequency of 1.4 GHz. Video accelerator - Mali 400 MP. RAM 1 GB, built-in 16 GB. There are competitors who provide more opportunities in this regard, but at the same time ask for less in price. If this memory is not enough for you, then you can choose 32 and 64 GB versions or expand it using cards.

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT i9300 runs Android 4.0.4. The gadget's interface is represented by a proprietary “touchwiz”. Square icons look great on an oval smartphone display. Locking and unlocking the device is accompanied by pleasant sounds.

Playing on this device is a real pleasure. Not a single game causes the i9300 to lag, unless, of course, you try to run super-heavy games, so you'll have to lower the settings.

The gadget is equipped with a small 2100 mAh battery by modern standards.

With Wi-Fi turned on and under full load, the phone works all day. A very good result for a smartphone of this class.

Curious features

The S3 i 9300 has a number of interesting features:

  • Smart Stay or intellectual expectation. Thanks to this function, the device controls whether the owner is looking at the display at that second. If not, it turns it off to save power.
  • SVoice is an analogue of Apple's Siri. Unfortunately, if you do not know English, then this function is not of particular value.
  • “Remember Everything” is an app specifically for those who don’t like text reminders. To use it, you just need to press the microphone and say, for example, “I want to call my mom back today in 15 minutes.” After this, you must click “Save”. You will not have to perform any further actions, neither set the date nor time. The gadget will do everything itself.
  • To take a screenshot, just swipe your palm across the screen. You can also configure your phone to recognize touches. Each movement has its own function.
  • A set of different vibration signals, where for each of them you can, for example, have your own contact number.
  • If the contact book is open and a certain person is selected, then you can simply bring the gadget to your ear, and C3 immediately starts calling him. True, for the very first time you need to select a communication option - via Skype or a regular call, so that the device remembers.
  • Voice dialing SMS.

Camera

U Samsung Galaxy S3 The i9300 has two cameras as standard: the main one is 8 MP and the front one is 1.9 MP. Let's deal with both in order.

The main camera is simply excellent. With it you can get good panoramic photos. In the functionality you can find an interesting function, like a series of pictures. The device takes 8 photos, and then you can choose the best one in your opinion. Very convenient when shooting moving objects.

The main camera is equipped with a Sony module, which is similar in quality to the module for IPhone 4S. The decision is controversial, especially if we recall Samsung's success in developing its own matrices.

The flash here is simple, LED. There is no separate button to launch the camera. It is activated by an icon from the desktop or lock screen. The shooting speed is 3.5 frames per second. Improved image processing algorithm. There is image stabilization. Focusing on a given point and face recognition are possible. The emphasis is on the convenience of the software component and its versatility.

The only thing I can say about the front camera is that it’s simple, but you can take a selfie.

The video camera shoots in 1080p resolution. While shooting, you can also take photos along the way. The quality of pictures and videos is decent.

Results

Samsung Galaxy S3 GT-i9300 is a stylish and laconic smartphone from an A-class company that is easy and convenient to operate. By purchasing it, the owner receives good quality, a good camera, excellent sound, both with and without headphones, and a variety of features that make life easier.
