Let me make a small confession: I love Samsung, and it is for the willingness to experiment with different market niches in search of an idea that could potentially “shoot”. The Samsung Galaxy Note is clearly the product of one such experiment. At the official presentation of the device, an interesting fact was voiced: according to a study commissioned by Samsung in South Korea, there is a rather large layer of users who constantly carry 2-3 devices with them (laptop, smartphone and sometimes even a tablet). Note was created as an ideal gadget for representatives of this particular target audience. As conceived by the manufacturer, it should replace the phone and tablet, and in some situations also a laptop. Again, it’s hard for me to draw any global conclusions, but personally, when I bring Note to my ear, I stubbornly miss the speaker and therefore don’t hear the first few words uttered by the interlocutor. Of the other little things that attract attention, I want to mention the very unfortunate location of the call speaker on the back of the device - it is very easy to block it with your fingers if you hold the smartphone both vertically and horizontally. Probably the most attractive feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note is the screen. Made using Super AMOLED technology, the matrix has a diagonal of 5.3 inches and a resolution of 1280x800 pixels (HD). The only fly in the ointment is the arrangement of subpixels according to the PenTile scheme, but with such a pixel density (285 ppi), this practically does not affect the clarity of the text. With an average load, the device is quite capable of working for 2-3 days, which is an excellent result.
The Samsung Galaxy Note uses the same camera module as the Galaxy S II, so I refer you to the review of the latter for examples. In general, Galaxy Note provides excellent quality for shooting both photos and videos.
To be honest, for a long time I have not come across a device that would leave such contradictory impressions after meeting it. On the one hand, the size of the Galaxy Note is clearly not pocketable, and it is not very convenient to use it as a phone. On the other hand, the smartphone is not afraid of this word, brutal charisma and leaves no one indifferent, and the screen of high resolution and a convenient stylus make it a suitable replacement for Android tablets. Galaxy Note, like the Galaxy S II, is a real multimedia monster: it is equipped with an excellent camera, the pre-installed music player from Samsung is simply the best among all manufacturers, and the proprietary video player easily plays files of any format and resolution, including external subtitles . At the same time, Note, unlike other Android smartphones, allows you to really use all these functions and at the same time not be afraid that you will have only 10% of the battery left by the lunch break. Personally, I can't remember the last time I parted with a test device with such regret. In my opinion, the Galaxy Note is not for everyone, but true gadget connoisseurs should pay close attention to it. Especially if they have big pockets. I bought and use NOUT relatively recently, only 3 weeks and as such, it seems to me that it has no shortcomings. If we talk about the size, then everything is clear from the beginning. You need a compact tablet from which you can make calls and the size still allows you to apply it to your ear - LAPTOP is the most. Need something even more compact worth looking into Galaxy side SII (which, by the way, I also had the good fortune to use) or HTC One X for example. There were only a few minor things I had complaints about:
- Melody when incoming call the first 2 seconds are played very quietly, then it breaks abruptly, and there is no way to fix this in the settings, but as I understand it, this is a feature of all Samsungs.
