If you accidentally delete much-needed files, information or data, then it seems that you need to start all over again and look for what you need again. But this is not the case, since there are good programs that can be used to quickly and efficiently recover data from a hard drive, which can significantly save yourself time and nerves. This article is devoted to an overview of one of these programs.
Program Recuva is the best of its kind for data recovery from hard drives. With its help, you can achieve excellent results by completely restoring all lost data and information. Its main advantages are efficiency and complete free of charge, since many programs for recovering data from a hard drive that are equal in functionality to it cost a lot of money.
The program works on the principle of collecting data that is still stored on the hard drive, since the file system of any computer simply cannot remain empty. In fact, when a file is deleted, its location information and name are only erased, although the file itself remains. And if the files were deleted quite recently and nothing was written over them (by a new deletion), then restoring them on the hard drive will not be difficult. This is exactly how the Recuva program works, and it supports any .
It is better to install the program in advance, for preventive purposes, before the necessary files are lost, as this will give at least some guarantee that it will not be overwritten on top of them. In extreme cases, it is advisable to install the utility simply on another partition, not on the one from which you need to restore files.
Installing the program is simple - you need to download its distribution kit from the official website, unpack the archive and run the Recuva.exe file. The program is completely Russified, so you should not change the default settings when installing the utility, unless you yourself want to assign the desired section to it. The main installation window looks like this:

The first window of the program installer

Read the agreement carefully

We press the "Accept" button, thereby agreeing with the license agreement (if you refuse, the installation of the program will be interrupted). The next window that appears will prompt you to create the appropriate icons on the desktop and in the Start menu after installation. We agree, put a tick. Also, you can enable automatic checking and notification of new versions of the program. If a constant Internet connection is not a problem for you, we agree with this point, since the latest versions are always slightly better than the previous ones.

Shortcuts and updates settings window

After you have selected all the shortcuts you need, click the "Install" button. The installation of the program starts, goes, ends and displays a window with a completion message, as well as with the "Run the program" button. Click on "Finish" and the utility opens its main window for us.

End of installation

The program has two modes - automatic, in which you need to work with the help of the "Recovery Wizard", which does almost everything on its own. The second mode is completely manual and if you are using a similar program for the first time, then it is better to do everything using the "Recovery Wizard". After we click the "Next" button, the "Wizard" will start and prompt you to select the type of files you need.

Choosing file types

For example, you need lost photos, otherwise, pictures. Select the appropriate item "Pictures" and click the "Next" button. The program will show a new window in which you will be prompted to select the location where the lost files are most likely to be located.

Select the location where the deleted files were previously located

Most likely, you have an idea where your files were located, so you specify this place and click the "Next" button. Nothing more is required from you and the "Recovery Wizard" can begin its search for files.

"Master" is ready to start work

You need to press the "Start" key and wait while the program searches for the required files in the specified location. You can check the box for a deeper search, however, this may take a certain, rather long time. As a result, the program should provide a complete list of all found files and we will see something like this window:

List of found files

You can see that some pictures have the inscription "View not available". This can only mean one thing - some information has already been recorded on top of them and they are no longer subject to recovery. In order to restore at least those that are still available, you need to check the necessary files and click on the "Restore" button, which is located in the lower right corner of the main window. After that, the "Recovery Wizard" should ask you in which folder to save the selected files. Specify the desired folder and click on "OK". That's all. All files will be restored, and you can find them through the "Explorer" in Windows.
If you use the advanced file search mode, then you need to click on the button "Switch to advanced mode" in the main menu of the program.

Workspace in the extended mode of the program

Here you can see a list of all files recovered from your hard drive in the form of a convenient table. Here the contents of each file are viewed separately on the "View" tab, the parameters are on "Summary" and "Title". From this window, you can start data recovery from the hard disk again.
The program allows you to flexibly customize yourself, for which you can go to the "Settings" menu and tinker with various parameters that are perfectly described in the program itself and do not raise any questions.

This program is quite simple and understandable, so almost everyone can use it. It should be remembered that the more free space on the hard disk remains from the moment files are deleted and the less new information is written to it, the greater the chance that all lost data will be recovered. As a rule, small files have more advantages over large ones, so it is not difficult to recover them, and it almost always works out.
