Before that, I lived on iPhones from the market, but now I have breathed a sigh of relief in my soul and brain. Don't spend extra money, buy a normal one. Waiting for the presentation of this phone was akin to the feelings with which I waited for the first iPhone, especially since the phone is available in two sizes: i-phone 6 and i-phone 6 plus. I really wanted to hold it in my hands, compare, evaluate and, of course, choose one of the two.
In the end I chose the smaller one, i.e. -phone 6

The box has remained this way even now, that is, it is extremely recognizable, only the box is completely white and devoid of any inscriptions or images. On the box there is only a slightly convex outline of the iPhone itself. Quite unusual, but rustic.
Inside the box everything is as always and unchanged. We remove the cover and in front of us lies the iPhone itself in a plastic tray. We remove the tray and under it, as always, we see an envelope with instructions, a paper clip and stickers. Under the envelope, in special sockets, there is a cable, adapter and headset. There are absolutely no additional accessories.
If you are planning to switch from models below 5, then no accessories will fit the i-phone 6 because the connector and size are completely different. I also had to struggle with the Bang & Olufsrn music center, but in the end I found an adapter and a stand, although all this is not original.

The phone has noticeably increased in size, but it is not at all heavy. I would even say that he is light as a feather. And he also became thinner. I wouldn’t recommend putting it in the back pocket of your trousers and I think it’s better not to experiment with trying to sit with your phone in your back pocket of your trousers.
The phone looks very nice. It feels nice in the hand. The materials from which it is made look and feel expensive. That's how many times I've compared, holding an iPhone in your hand and subconsciously realizing what's in your hand expensive thing, but you pick up another phone and somehow immediately feel that this is not the same feeling. Watching videos and films is a pleasure. Nothing slows down or freezes.
Display:
The display is perfectly smooth and, due to its rounded shape, it seems to merge with the body, creating the illusion of a monolithic structure. This is especially noticeable in phones of my color. But after I glued the protective film on the screen, this magical feeling disappeared. Due to the design of the phone, it is impossible to stick the protective film so that it is one piece with the screen, as was the case in previous models. No matter how you stick it around the edges it will be visible.
As for color reproduction, viewing angles and other things, everything is so perfect here that you won’t even want to go and read the characteristics because there is absolutely nothing to complain about. Even in the sun, the picture remains bright and readable. When you rotate or tilt the phone, the brightness and clarity of the picture is maintained.
Perhaps other manufacturers have advantages in terms of technical specifications, but this is when you read and compare on paper, but in life, once you compare two screens and perform the same actions, it becomes clear that the i-phone 6 has the best display. Therefore, do not compare the characteristics, but just pick up the phone and make sure that this is so. But how Apple managed to achieve this is a mystery.
Watching movies, typing texts and even reading books on this screen has become much more convenient. It’s convenient to watch even with two people because the image and color are not distorted from any viewing angle. For example, somewhere in line at the clinic, the children watch cartoons or a movie with me and all three of them are comfortable.
Camera:
There is the same mysticism with the camera as with the display; after looking at the characteristics (only 8 megapixels, for example), you can understand that it can be better, but in practice you get beautiful photos and amazing videos, which often show reality even better than it really is. In general, you are amazed and realize that you need to compare the end result, not the characteristics.
And if you need to photograph something very quickly, then the i-phone 6 has no equal at all; it focuses simply instantly, producing excellent pictures without any problems.
I was very pleased with the delayed shooting function. You can take pictures with a delay of 3 or 10 seconds.
The phone's camera is convex, and if the phone doesn't have a case, it's very noticeable and slightly annoying. But this can be easily solved if you put on a cover. For example, like mine.
Sound: In terms of listening to music, there have also been changes for the better in this startup phone, which are audible even to the untrained ear. If you like to listen to music in good quality, then i-phone 6 will make you very happy. You will find clear and spacious sound, no wheezing or anything like that, and the bass... deep bass! Super!
Battery life: average operating time in video mode is about 10 hours. Other times I charge my phone every other day or so, sometimes every day. I would like it less often, but this is the reality.
Convenience:
As for the ease of use of such big phone, then it's a matter of habit. If you, like me, have always used standard-sized phones, then at first it will be a little inconvenient, but after a week everything falls into place. The hand gets used to a certain set of movements and there is no discomfort left. Moreover, Apple tried to come up with everything down to the smallest detail to make using the phone as convenient as possible. For example, to perform actions at the top of the screen, you do not need to try to reach the edge of the screen; just double-tap the home button (not press, just touch) and the screen will move down.
At first, it’s a little unusual that the Power key is now on the right side, and not on top. But you quickly realize that given the size of the phone, this is the right decision and it’s more convenient, even if it’s unusual at first.
Some buttons remain in their place, for example, the button for switching the call to vibration mode or the central button with the Touch ID function. With this feature, it is not only easy to unlock your phone without entering a password (just place your finger on central button and your fingerprint will be scanned and the lock will be removed), but you can also use it for purchases without needing to enter a password.
The only thing is that no tricks will help you fit this phone into places where it cannot fit, but where a regular-sized phone could easily fit. There is an opinion that if you buy a glass smartphone, you are dooming yourself to pain and suffering. They say he dropped it, which means he broke it. In fact, it's not all that scary. Apple announced that the iPhone 8 received the most durable glass possible; such reliable glass has never existed before. Sounds good, but what happens in practice? Valentin spent detailed testing, iPhone 8 suffered a series of falls. Yes, in the end it was broken, but I doubt that any other smartphone would have withstood such a test. And in general, all these drop tests are just games of chance, either you’ll be lucky or not, as it turns out. But I can say one thing for sure: after what you saw, you are no longer afraid for the fate of the phone. In addition, you can always attach a case, it will soften the blow if it falls.
Apple didn't have many phones, and the design hasn't changed much over the past 4 years. Wide frames, large sizes, Apple still lives in the past, but they forgive it for that. For me, the most convenient iPhone was and remains the SE, an excellent little device. I really liked the Space Gray color, but to get an iPhone in this color, you need to buy the old 6s, Apple limited the choice. And as you can understand from the text, the design of the new eights did not impress me. If I were Apple, I would try to revive the colorful 5C, remember those bright colors? Blue, green, yellow... In combination with a glass case, they would stand out against the general background. On the other hand, someone may consider the gold iPhone too flashy and ostentatious, but this is only until you get to know this color of the iPhone 6 better. Apple designers managed to do a great job with gold color scheme. Despite its name, it is particularly restrained and sophisticated. This is not the flashy “redhead” of a golden chain and a fix in place of the knocked-out teeth of a glamorized gopnik. Apple's gold shimmers with precise, high-tech anodizing that doesn't even come close to the point of vulgarity. The gold color of the iPhone 6 will appeal to connoisseurs of subtle yet luxurious design.
The silver color is based on pure aluminum. Clear coating on top and no further processing. This fact promises minimal visibility of scratches and other damage to the case. The gray color of the iPhone 6 is extremely attractive in this sense.
At the same time, the space gray color of the iPhone 6 is a consequence of anodization, which means less stability appearance to wear. It doesn’t seem very true, but after a while we know that there is no need to worry about this.
If you plan to carry your smartphone in a case, then the question of choosing the color of the iPhone 6 comes down only to a preference for a white or black color panel. Here, be guided by your taste, or, if it doesn’t tell you anything, try to think about the above advantages of white and black panels for different types content. The device is charged and immediately, out of the box, equipped with everything necessary, I’m talking about a set of basic programs.
Three colors: dark grey, silver and gold. Everyone looks very cool, not boring, I regretted that I chose the dark gray model for myself, the silver one is great for laptops and Apple computers. On the other hand, this will clearly be a device for girls, just like the gold version. The body is made of one piece of aluminum, antenna strips are visible on the back and sides, some people don’t like this - well, everyone has their own tastes. The camera protrudes a little, and the iPhone 6S will likely hide it flush. The device is not slippery, it is easy to lift from the table, the ends are rounded, and the thin body is easy to pick up. They did everything with glass very well, it creates the feeling of one piece, as if metal and glass were soldered, the transition is barely perceptible. The dimensions are 138.1 x 67 x 6.9 mm, weight - 129 grams, I don’t want to invent anything - the device is most convenient to use with two hands. And this is a regular six, not six plus. Yes, they tried to make the smartphone as compact as possible, yes, it fits perfectly in the hand, yes, it is light and thin, but when you type text with your right thumb, the iPhone tends to fall forward. If with the iPhone 5S I could reach any corner of the display with my thumb, then with the iPhone 6 this thing will not work. So, everything is very similar to Android smartphones, reminiscent of HTC, Sony and Samsung.
It will be especially difficult for girls, I specifically asked two friends to try to do something on the iPhone 6, open Instagram and something else - I like the device itself, but it is not as convenient to use as the iPhone 5S. But this did not bother both of them; they can relearn quickly.
You'll also have to get used to the location of the power button; your finger goes up, but it's on the right. It clicks perfectly, fits right-handed people right under the thumb, not big and not small, not thin and not thick. Just as it should be. On the left is the mute lever, volume buttons, everything is in its place. And this time again, two devices in one hand, instead of coupons - electronic registration, excitement, and the iPhone 6 Plus ran out in five minutes. By the way, “plus” is very difficult to get; in Moscow, resellers ask about 130,000 rubles for a device with any capacity, and there are a lot of people willing to pay. Everything, as I said in the article about the announcement, no surprises. An article about the “plus” will come out a little later, I’ll just note one thing: in the photographs the device looks larger, but this is definitely a two-handed smartphone for those who care about photo quality and operating time - an extremely interesting gadget, and it will have an excellent fate on the market. This has already been proven.
I don’t understand the crying and criticism of the company by some people, like, did Apple give in/give in and make a shovel? If you don’t like the iPhone 6/6Plus, buy an excellent and almost perfect iPhone 5S, it will be relevant for several more years, Apple will probably support it for at least three or four years (we’re talking about software updates). After turning on for the first time and various formalities such as entering your Apple ID, you are asked to set a fingerprint; for a right-hander, this is most likely the thumb of your right hand. You place your finger on the sensor, the picture shows how the system recognizes the pattern: you apply it, release it, apply it again, then you are asked to apply not the pad, but the tip of your finger, with a slight turn. Imagine the movement while pressing a button, just like that. The system then remembers your fingerprint and prompts you to enter a password in case the fingerprint is not recognized. Naturally, you can save the prints of all other fingers for greater convenience. The biggest question I get asked is how fast is the scanning? Look, the device is locked, you press the button with your thumb, release it, it unlocks and goes to the home screen. Without any Slide to unlock. I’m not a supporter of protection, I have nothing to hide, but this thing works very well and saves time - you don’t need to press the power button, you don’t need to move your finger across the display again. By the way, in a locked state, you can switch tracks in the player, launch the camera - all this is available without entering a password, but when you want to go to the home screen, you find yourself on the lock screen, you need to enter a password or scan your fingerprint. That is, you can give someone the camera to take pictures, listen to music, use a calculator or flashlight, but the person will not be able to go further.
I think that we will see Touch ID in other products of the company; for Apple, the device in question is in many ways a test platform, this applies to both the fingerprint sensor and the A7 processor. At the same time, Touch ID may well end up not only in the iPad (this will certainly happen), but also in laptops. Apparently, the company has set a course for comprehensive protection of user data, you understand, there is another aim here - corporations will be very happy with such opportunities, and it’s high time to get rid of Blackberry.
Many say that all this is not new, it all happened, but history repeats itself, as with many other Apple inventions. After all, everyone remembers FaceTime and the howling of a certain special part of the Internet community about the lack of innovation. Apple simply makes familiar or existing technologies more convenient, simpler and more necessary ( keyword) for ordinary people, and not for mythical special agents - many people have such associations when you talk about fingerprint scanning. On the iPhone 5S, this takes a split second, allows you to instantly unlock the device, saves time, and gives you a completely unique level of data protection - without the need to come up with complex passwords, draw graphic keys, unlock your smartphone using the front camera, and so on.

Compared to iOS 8 on the iPhone 5S there is no slowdown in many programs, there are no crashes when Instagram works, when the photo after shooting moves a little, many programs do not crash - this is a common thing. This happened last year with the iPhone 5 and iPhone 5S; the new operating system takes root better on the new device.
Uses 1 GB of RAM, as you know, in many devices based on Android already costs 3 GB, but in the iPhone 6 this is enough for smooth and stable operation. Moving between desktop segments is instant, programs open quickly, and I haven’t noticed any crashes or glitches in a couple of days. And I use different programs, from a browser to navigation, from a camera to some kind of Internet radio.
There is also a barometer, but it’s not clear what software to use it with. I will sort this out.
I will write about the camera in great detail in the operating experience; for now there are very few photos, perhaps I will add some of the photos here. iPhone 6 is my main device, I take photos all the time, so there will be something to look at.
The camera is 8 MP, they changed the software and optics, five lenses, maybe that’s why they couldn’t remove the entire group inside the body. They are covered with sapphire on top, and there is an Auto HDR mode (it works well). New system focusing is not bad, but it cannot catch some objects, look at the photo with the mountain ash. The texture of the leaf is captured nicely, but the berry is out of focus. Well, or I just twitched my hand a little, here it’s better to use a physical button rather than a virtual one. Let me say in advance that the iPhone 6 is one of the best modern smartphones on the market in terms of photographic capabilities and can easily replace your point-and-shoot camera for daily shooting.

The stated operating time is about 14 hours of talk time on a 3G network, the device lasts about 10 days in standby mode, 11 hours of video playback (I'm just about to fly to New York, I'll try it), 50 hours of music playback. It seems to me that the operating time is generally better than that of the iPhone 5S, I am a very active user, and the device got through the day quietly with me. Let's see how things go further. A lot, a lot of things have already been released, I’ll note the very nice Ozaki “pasta” cases made of silicone, they look funny, there are also original cases made of eco-leather or silicone, I chose green for myself, but I can’t put my hand on it, the metal looks great.
The WoodFrame stand, iPhone 5S car chargers, holders, and acoustics came in handy - installation in some docks may cause problems, but in general there are no problems for manufacturers. Especially for those who produce accessories with Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. There are already films and safety glass, and other things, we will tell you about everything in the near future.
Three versions, 16, 64 and 128 GB, in my opinion, the 32 GB version was removed in vain, it would have been better to remove the 16 GB model, now it is not at all relevant. But I’m glad that a model with 128 GB of memory appeared. First of all, I downloaded almost all the music purchased from iTunes onto the iPhone 6, and there was still a lot of space left, this is very nice. If you take a lot of photos and videos, then don’t even think about it, take a model with 128 GB - girls, this especially concerns you.
There are no complaints about the quality of reception, the speaker here is loud, give or take the same as an iPhone 5S, which allows you to use it in the bathroom without any speakers. I can hear you well. We will add a video about disassembly and features to our YouTube channel in October.
The device will appear in Russia on September 26, sales have already begun in some other countries, the gray market has revived, everything is as usual here. In the official Apple store prices for iPhone 6 are 31,990 for 16 GB, 36,990 rubles for 64 GB, 41,990 rubles for 128 GB. It's inexpensive, and the price is quite justified, because the iPhone 6 is a good thing, and there aren't really any competitors on the market. Only Apple makes smartphones based on iOS. And comparing this device with something from the Android camp simply does not make sense - a different OS, a different audience, this audience has different needs and other aspirations. And whatever you say, the iPhone 6 will sell millions of copies, and even the crisis is not an obstacle to this; people in Moscow are ready to give their last hundred thousand rubles just to get the new product this weekend.
This is the first two-handed Apple smartphone, and it was quite a success. I have nothing to complain about, I use it with pleasure, I advise you to look at the colors in real life before purchasing, the silver one is very cool, I’ll show you live photos later.
P.S. Is it worth upgrading from iPhone 5S to iPhone 6? If the size doesn't bother you, of course. Due to the increased diagonal of the display, it is more convenient to do many things here; you don’t have to squint, peer, zoom, or turn the device.
