Special Program Alcohol 120% can run .mds .bwt .b5t .b6t .ccd .cdi .pdi .iso .isz .nrg .cue files. Many games and programs are now distributed as virtual disks. So in order to open them and install them on your computer, you need a certain program. For example, we have Alcohol 120%. In order to unpack virtual disk and install what was needed on it.
1) Download the file itself in a virtual disk.
Here is an example of what it will look like.
This picture shows two types of files. Format .mdf .mds they must be together and distributed together too. And an example of the .iso format, it can be one.
2) After you have such files on your computer, you need to download the Alcohol 120% program. It can be easily downloaded and installed for free. But I will not tell you about its installation. Let's say you downloaded and installed it. Go to the folder and run the file that is highlighted in yellow in the photo. 
3) If you have not created a virtual disk, then create it. In the program, click Virtual Disk 
A window pops up. There we do everything as in my picture and click OK. If you want more virtual disks, then put more where I circled in red. 
After that, an alleged device with removable media (disk drive) will appear in your computer
4) Run our virtual file and install.
In the Alcohol 120% program, click File (file) then Open (open) in the window that opens, select your file and click OK 
After that, this file will appear in your list. Click on it right click mice. Then mount to the device and select your created disk. After that, you should see below what I have highlighted in red. (The device name may not be the same as mine) After mounting, you should immediately start installing what was on the virtual disk (if there is a program or game and there is an installer) 
Or we go into my computer and there we find a drive under the same name where you mounted the image, open it as a disk and that's it. 
The Alcohol 120% program is designed to emulate disk images on your computer. For example, you have downloaded a game that does not come without a CD/DVD. Then you mount the image of this game into a virtual drive, and the computer thinks that a disk is inserted into the drive. However, ordinary users this program required when using files downloaded from the Internet. Those. some films, games, programs are "packed" in Alcohol formats - .mdf, .iso, .cue, etc. And many do not know how to open and use files with such extensions.
Let's start with the fact that there are several versions of Alcohol. There is a free version - 52%. But it is very limited. Therefore, it is better to look for the 120% version. This version is paid, but it is easy to find a patch (crack) on the Internet that allows you to use it in full. However, precisely because of the "home-grown" nature of such pirated patches, your program may become extremely unstable.
When you first start the program, you will see the following window:
Until you have virtual drives. Which means they need to be done. We click on the left on the inscription "Virtual disk". Or Tools - Settings - Virtual Disk. This window will open for us, where we must select the number of virtual disks:
Personally, I have never created more than two, because two have always been enough for me. Therefore, do not chase quantity, more does not mean better. After you have chosen the number of disks. You need to go to "File Associations" and select all types of files by clicking on the "Select All" button.
All. We are done with the settings. Now you can mount the image. There are two ways. The first way: you need to right-click on the file and select "mount to ..." and select the desired disk. If you have one virtual disk, then just click "Mount".
After you have mounted the image, the autorun window should pop up. If the window does not come out, then go to "My Computer", select a virtual disk and install the program "directly" (that is, by running the installation file: autorun. Setup, install).
The second way is to mount the image through the Alcohol program itself. You choose File - Open from the menu. Select "All supported images" at the bottom. Sometimes this item is already selected by default, but sometimes not... After that, you choose your image.
Now your file has appeared in the main window in the center. It can be simply dragged with the mouse to the virtual drive, or by right-clicking.
Images are dismantled according to the same principle. Or through alcohol. Or through "My Computer". Right-click on the virtual disk and select "Unmount Image".
In the end, I would like to talk about files with the extension .mdf and .mds. These files are inseparable from each other. When an image is created in .mdf format, an mds file is automatically created. The mds file contains all important information about the file. So don't delete it! However, in some cases, there is no mds file. Sometimes the absence of this file does not interfere much - the program will install anyway.

Run Alcohol 120. Go to the tab → Settings → Virtual Disk. We decide how many virtual disks we need, let's say one is enough for me, so in the field → Number of virtual disks select the amount we need (by the way, this software can support up to 31 virtual disks at the same time).
Then we go to the field → File Association, where we are invited to add information about which extensions of disk images Alcohol 120 will work with. Here we can safely press the button → Select all →OK.
Then on the menu Settings → Emulation → Advanced check all boxes and click OK. In the emulation menu, we have configured Alcohol 120 to bypass protections that may be applied by the disc manufacturer for copy protection. Everything, setting up the program for our case, is over.
We launch Alcohol 120. In the main menu of the program we find the item Image search.
Next window will open Image search, in which we are interested in the point → Search, press the button Search, wait until Alcohol finds the images on the computer, the found files will be displayed in a list. Next, we find the image we need, select it by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Or select all the images in bulk, as done in the example and press the button → Add selection to Alcohol.
Now you can close the window Image search. After that, in the main menu of the program, the images that we added in the previous paragraph will appear.
Now, to mount the image, just double-click the left mouse button on the file we need. Everything, now you can start working with the mounted image.
Recently, on the Internet, quite often I began to meet requests to explain what is called “on the fingers”, how to mount a disk image in a particular program. In this regard, I decided to make several articles with detailed instructions, how to work with virtual disk images in the most popular applications. I'll start with the Alcohol 120% program, which, although it is commercial, I like it endlessly, because it has a very simple interface and stable operation, and besides, it is regularly updated.
After installing and registering Alcohol 120%, the first step is to make some preliminary settings, in particular, install several virtual drives and associate the program with virtual drives so that it works with them by default.
To do this, open the "Service" item in the main menu and select "Settings" in the drop-down list, after which a new window with settings will open. In this window, by going to the "Virtual Disk" tab, you need to set the number of virtual disks (you can install up to 31 disks as a maximum, but I recommend setting as many as you need to mount images at the same time).
To make it clearer in the future, I will try to explain what a virtual disk is in Alcohol 120%. Imagine an ordinary CD-ROM drive, a disk is inserted into it and information is read from it. Now a virtual disk is the same drive, only a virtual one and it reads not CDs, but disk images. That is, the analogy is clear, in a conventional drive you insert a disc, push the tray, and the disc starts to be read. In the virtual drive, you specify the path to the disk image, and information from it starts to be read.
In general, a virtual disk and a virtual drive are synonyms, which means that by setting the number of virtual disks, you set how many drives will be on the computer, and how many disk images can be read at the same time.
After setting the maximum number of virtual disks, you must configure the association of disk images with the Alcohol 120% program. How to do this, in the settings you need to go from the "Virtual Disk" tab to the "File Associations" tab, where you check everything except "RAR" (if this item, of course, exists, it may be missing, then you need to check everything). Next, you need to save the settings made by clicking the "Ok" button at the bottom of the window and waiting a bit.
Everything is done with the settings, now let's move on to the question. There are two ways, each of which has its own charm:
You can also dismantle an image from a virtual drive through "My Computer", you just need to right-click on the virtual disk and select "Unmount Image". 
To create a CD, DVD or boot disk in Alcohol 120 you need to click "Image Creation". A window will open in which you need to select the disk drive in which the disk from which the image will be made is located.

When the disc is read by the program, the "Start" button will become active. Before clicking this button, you need to click "Reading Options" and specify in what format we will make the image and where the finished image will be stored. Now you can click the "Start" button and wait until the Alcohol 120 disk image is completed.
To create an image from the selected files from a computer or disk, you need to click "Image Mastering". A welcome window will open, click the "Next" button. Now you need to choose from which files you want to make an image; for this, press the button "Add file (s).

Thus, we collect all the necessary files. Now that all the files are collected, click the "Next" button.
Set ISO Alcohol 120 In the new window, select the location where the image will be stored, specify the image format, and in the "Image name" field, write what the image will be called. By clicking the "Start" button, the image will be created and will be located in the location you specified.
First you need to create a virtual disk using the Alcohol 120 program, for this we click "Tools" - "Settings".

How to mount an image to a drive in Alcohol 120 In the appeared context menu select "Mount image" - "Open". We find the image, click on it with the left mouse button and click the "Open" button. So you can mount the image through alcohol 120 and now you can view the contents of the disk.
To burn an image to a disc, click "Burn images to discs".
How to burn an Alcohol 120 disc In the window that opens, click the "Browse" button and look for the image file that we need to burn to disk. You can check the box "Delete the image file after burning" if you no longer need this file in the future. We press the “Next” button, another window will open in which you need to click “Start” and recording to the disk will begin (at this moment it is better not to do anything on the computer so that there is no failure due to which the disk may be damaged).
Sometimes, after installing the program, when you start it, an error appears loading Alcohol 120 drivers, which means that this version is not suitable for your system. To resolve this error, you will need to uninstall this version and install another one.
