Windows. Viruses. Notebooks. Internet. office. Utilities. Drivers

Many android users, and the owners Samsung phones in particular, they think that after deletion it is useless to try to restore messages. Allegedly, the data has been erased from the device, which means that there is nowhere to return them from. And why? But what if, due to a system bug, an important SMS with someone's phone number or messages dear to the heart from loved ones were deleted? Fortunately, even in this case, not everything is lost and the unfortunate user has a chance to recover files.

Why did the data disappear?

Get away from phone SMS may be for completely different reasons. One such reason is a simple bug in the system. Every user knows that all phones without exception model range Samsung is based on the Android operating system. And she, in turn, is not at all immune from a wide variety of failures. All messages suddenly disappeared from the phone or the mail envelope icon itself disappeared - you can sin on an error in the system.

Another reason may be that the firmware of the device has “flew off”. In this case, not only the display of information will start to act up, but the phone as a whole will periodically show instability.

In addition to those indicated, the reason may be the exit new version OS. As a rule, even with an outdated OS, basic Android applications continue to work stably, but there is an exception for every rule.

And yet one of the most common reasons why data is deleted from the phone is the users themselves.

How to Recover Deleted SMS Messages on Samsung Phone

It does not matter for what reason all the data disappeared from your device. You can restore them. To do this, you will need a USB cable, a computer or laptop and the gadget itself.

Using a third party program

On the market for programs for android gadgets, there are a lot of tools that are designed specifically to fix the problem of deleted messages. Some of them are paid and provide a more advanced set of functions. And others are distributed free of charge and have a basic set of features, which, however, does not detract from their effectiveness. The latter include, for example, Android Data Recovery, Wondershare Dr. Phone, Coolmuster Android. At the same time, the last two are suitable for both Windows and Mac, so we will focus on them, or rather, on Wondershare.

All such programs are similar in functionality and interface. They are equipped with a built-in instruction manual, so even an inexperienced user can easily understand the controls.

  1. First, we need to enable developer mode on the gadget. We go to the "Settings" menu, here we are looking for the "About device" section.

The section we are looking for is usually at the very bottom of the list.

  2. We go into it and go down to the item "Assembly number". We click on it until the notification “Developer mode is active” is displayed on the screen.

Again, we go down to the very bottom of the list.

  3. After that, we return back to the "Settings" menu and are already looking for another section called "Developer Options".

After that, in the settings we are looking for a menu with developer options

  4. In it, we need the line "USB debugging". Activate the checkbox next to this name.

Activate the USB debugger with one touch

  5. After that, we transfer the field of our actions to a PC (or laptop). Download the selected program for recovering deleted messages, for example, the previously mentioned Wondershare. Unpack the file and install the pack. After that, we connect the device to the computer via a USB cable.

After installing the assistant program, connect the device to the computer

  6. After installation and successful connection, the program itself will begin to tell you what and how to do next in order to correctly identify the device and scan the data stored on it.
  7. After completing these processes, the utility will display on the computer screen a list of all the data that has recently been deleted from the device. Find and open the Messages folder (Message/Email). From here you can restore those messages that were deleted by mistake. Select the files you need and click Recover. Messages will return to their place.

After the scan is completed, the program will prompt you to select the files to recover

Keep in mind that the place where deleted messages, may be overwritten by other files. Therefore, if suddenly your messages suddenly disappeared, hurry to restore them as soon as possible. Until the recovery operation is carried out, it is better not to copy any files and documents to the clipboard, disable Mobile Internet and do not restart the gadget.

How to return SMS without using a computer

You can recover data without the help of a PC. But for this you need to download a special rescue application, and sometimes root rights.

Before using this method, remember that rooting your gadget automatically voids its factory warranty. For devices on which the rights of the "superuser" were obtained, even specialists of service centers often do not take it.

GT Recovery

GT Recovery is an almost “omnivorous” program that can handle any gadget model of any company on Android based. Spread through google app Play Market and is free. Allows you to recover a file of any format, whether it is a photo, video or text. Requires root-rights, however, it also has an alternative version in which they are not needed (GT Recovery no Root). The recovery process is extremely simple - you install the application, run it and scan the system for deleted files desired format.

"Basket" (Dumpster)

"Basket" works on the same principle as the service of the same name on the computer. Files after deletion are moved to a specially allocated storage, and if they need to be restored, they are simply moved from the storage to their original location. If recovery is not required for a long time, the files are deleted on their own. The utility works without root rights, but it has one significant disadvantage: if the data has already been overwritten, it cannot be restored.

We have named some of the most popular applications, but there are many more in the "stores". In general, the functionality and the action performed are similar for all programs.

How to prevent data loss on Samsung devices

It is difficult to say whether a similar bug will happen to the system again, but just in case, it is better for the owner to play it safe and take care of their SMS in advance.

One of the most reliable means is periodic backup(BackUp) of all data on the phone. You can also use specialized applications, such as Titanium Backup. This program allows you to back up data according to a schedule compiled by the owner himself, save calls, contacts, and much more.

Among other things, do not forget to regularly clean the system of unnecessary files (which will increase the performance of the phone as a whole and reduce the risk of bugs), check the relevance of the firmware and OS. This will protect you from accidental loss of important data in the future.

The disappearance of a shortcut from the desktop screen or the program itself from the list of applications is a problem that many Android users are familiar with firsthand. Only few people know how to solve it. Therefore, if you do not want to overpay the master for trifling work, this article is for you.

Possible problems and solutions

The screens of mobile gadgets are highly sensitive to touch. Often, the user, without knowing it, accidentally pushes an icon or application to the trash. Therefore, before checking the device for errors, make sure that the program you are looking for is really removed. For this:

  • Open the Play Market.
  • By clicking on the icon in the form of 3 horizontal stripes in a row voice search call the side menu.
  • Select "My apps and games"
  • Go to the "Installed" tab and check if the application we are interested in is in the list.
  • If there is, open the application page, delete it and reinstall it.
  • If the application is not in the list, open its page in Google Play and install.
  • We protect ourselves from the repetition of such situations: we set an automatic screen lock for the time while the gadget is not in use.

After re-installation, the label should return to its place. If this did not happen, or the shortcut returned, but only for a while, you may have:

The system is infected with viruses

Today, malware is increasingly disguised as popular applications, and therefore, the number of downloads from them amounts to hundreds of thousands, or even millions of downloads. Most modern viruses do not harm the device directly (in order to be able to collect information about you longer). However, there are those that are aimed specifically at destabilizing the operation of the gadget. Removing programs or their shortcuts in this case is a common thing. Therefore, when a problem occurs, the first thing we do is to ensure that the antivirus databases always remain up to date.

Developer side problem

Application development is carried out not only by professionals, but also by amateurs. If the icon does not appear from the very beginning, most likely the author wrote the intent-filter incorrectly in the manifest file. To test this theory, ask a friend (who has a phone from the same company as you) to install the problematic application. Doesn't it have a label? Write to the developer until he fixes this bug, the problem will not be solved.

SD card problem

Applications from play market automatically installed on the internal memory of the smartphone. However, the user can place third-party programs at his own discretion. Often, to speed up the system, they are placed on a removable memory card. But only after the device is loaded, the initialization of the SD card can take several minutes. The applications installed on it do not respond to the system request at this time, as a result of which the icons and are not displayed.

The problem is solved in several ways:

  • Buying a more modern memory card with faster data processing and recording (not the best option, since it does not guarantee 100% result).
  • (the probability of success is maximum, but the smartphone may start to slow down).
  • Rebooting the SD card (the optimal solution that helps in 85% of cases).

To disable and re-enable the memory card, go to "Settings" and open the "Memory" section. There (at the very bottom), first click on the item "Disable MicroSD", and then (when the drive is deactivated) "Enable MicroSD". We wait a couple of minutes, after which the labels should appear.

note! Perhaps the memory card itself has deteriorated. If the described steps did not help, before proceeding to the next steps, check its performance on another gadget.

Firmware problem

Another option explaining why applications from Android could disappear is related to the system itself. If you have recently modified the firmware of your phone, the updates may not have installed correctly, resulting in the loss of some shortcuts and / or applications. To return everything as it was:

  • We open system settings phone.
  • We find the section "Restore and reset" (or a name similar in meaning).
  • We select the recovery option that you are using (from the "cloud", from " internal memory" and so on).

After the system returns to the previous settings, .

Applications have been moved

When applications are installed on the phone, the path to their location is immediately written in the shortcut parameters. Therefore, when a program is removed from its installation location, the icon disappears along with it. However, the disappearance of the shortcut from the desktop does not mean at all that the application has been deleted. Perhaps you accidentally moved the folder with its files somewhere when you downloaded photos to your computer or installed some application manually, and not from the Play Market.

The easiest way to solve the problem in this case is to reinstall the application. However, the moved files will remain lying somewhere dead weight. To get rid of them, we connect the gadget to the computer and start a search by the name of the application (if it consists of several words, use the first one). If the results of the issuance found the files we need, click on them right click mouse and select "Properties" or "File Location" to find out exactly where they are stored on the phone. If not in place, delete.

note! If not third-party, but built-in applications were moved, the system may start to work incorrectly. If you cannot return or reinstall them, roll back the system to the previous state, following the recommendations from the previous paragraph.

Launcher not working properly

A launcher is a shell that makes it easier for the user to work with a smartphone. And if you changed the basic one to a third-party version, some shortcuts could very well be deleted or grouped into folders. To check this, we return to the basic launcher. For this:

  • We go to the settings.
  • We are looking for a section devoted to the settings of the device itself (screen, memory, applications).
  • We click on the item "Select launcher" (or close in meaning, because in the version for your device it may be called differently).
  • In the proposed list, select the basic option.
  • We save the changes and check if the icons appear.
  • If yes, the problem lies precisely in the launcher, if not, we return everything as it was and continue to understand.

Another option related to the work of the launcher is the grouping of applications into folders to optimize free space on the screen. Check if there are any folders with several icons inside on your desktop. If there is, the desired label may well be inside one of them. To return, open the folder, hold down the icon with your finger and, without releasing, move it to the side until it comes out on the desktop.

Factory Reset

If the solutions listed above did not help, and the icons on the desktop are still missing, there is only one option left -. This can be done in different ways.

Note! The reset will delete absolutely all your data in the phone’s memory, so before you start it, do backups necessary files, contacts etc.

certain combination of numbers

This option is the easiest, but may not work on all smartphones. To use it, in the dialing field, enter one of the three proposed combinations and click "Call":

  1. *2767*3855#
  2. *#*#7780#*#*
  3. *#*#7378423#*#*

If this method suits your device, the smartphone will go to reboot, after which the settings will be rolled back to the factory settings.

Through the menu of the smartphone itself

If the device is working normally, you can return its filling to the pre-sale state through the menu. For this:

  • We check that the charge on the phone is more than 70% (so that it does not turn off during the reinstallation process).
  • Open the "Settings" section (for some models, the gear-shaped icon is on the desktop, for others - in the "Menu").
  • In the "System" subsection, we are looking for the item "Restore and reset" (or, if your device does not have this, close to it in meaning).
  • Scroll the list to the bottom and select "Reset settings" or another phrase, the description of which indicates a return to the factory settings.
  • We start the rollback and wait for the result.

Now it remains only to update the system to current version("Settings" - "About phone" - "System update") and reinstall the applications.

After updating applications, it often happens that icons disappear from the desktop of a smartphone (or tablet) and / or notifications about incorrect links from one or several of them begin to appear over and over again. Therefore, we will tell you what to do if the application icon in Android has disappeared.

  • if the icon is gone: restore

The fastest and easiest way to fix this problem is to simply re-add the missing icon to the main screen of your smartphone. But if the icon has not disappeared, but only does not work (broken link), then it must first be removed. To do this, click on it and hold down until the inscription "Delete" appears at the top of the screen.

Here we recall that in this way it is possible to completely remove the entire application at once, so you need to be more careful with this. IN this case we only need to remove the non-working icon from the screen.

Removed? Now through " Settings"We find the corresponding application, click on it and also hold down the click and drag it to its usual place on the main screen.

  • if the icon is gone: reboot

Here, too, everything is simple. The problem with the disappearance of icons, like a whole lot of other problems of various sizes, can be eliminated by simply rebooting it. Press the power button, select "Reboot" and wait for the procedure to complete.

  • if the icon is gone: clean

If both methods described above for eliminating the problem did not have the desired effect (which is unlikely), then we also use the third one -. The method is more radical, but it allows you to solve much more serious problems. True, this option is not open in all Android smartphones.

However, let's try. First of all, turn off the device. Next, when it is completely turned off, simultaneously press and hold the power and volume up buttons until the Android logo (or any other logo) appears on the screen. It will mean that you have successfully activated the so-called recovery menu smartphone ( Recovery). The transition between its lines up and down is done with the volume up and down buttons. Use them to select clear cache(or Wipe cache partition).

Here, too, you should be careful. In some smartphones, Clear Cache is combined with the item factory reset (full reset system settings or " "). If this is also found on your smartphone, then on this one, obviously, it's better to stop and get out of recovery menu. Since it is still not worth resetting the device completely due to one bat icon.

If clear cache(or Wipe cache partition) you observe in a separate line and without additional entries, then select this line and start the cache cleaning procedure. Upon its completion, restart the smartphone again (Reboot). When rebooting through the recovery menu, it usually takes a little more time. But then, most likely, all application icons will return to their places again and will work properly, as before.

Icons from the android desktop may disappear for several reasons and they can be restored - returned to their place.

Abyss may icons front camera, sms, phone handsets, menu, call, messages, play market, camera switching, gallery, internet, flashlight, downloads, YouTube, settings, viber (viber), skype, wi-fi, microphone, title inscriptions, icons, notes and so on.

The most common reason is the transfer of applications to a memory card. After a reboot, they may disappear.

The second reason is accidental deletion. The android screen is very sensitive and you might not have accidentally deleted an icon or even an app.

The third reason is the spontaneous movement of icons. On an android phone, it is easy to accidentally move an icon from the desktop, for example, to a folder that is created automatically

Other options are not excluded - rare. If your reason for the entry is not covered, let me know through the comments and we will find a solution.

  • By the way, there is a good program that corrects errors that have arisen in android phones. Here she is: .

How to get back missing icons from the desktop - the reason is in the flash drive

To return the android icons that disappeared due to moving applications to the memory card, you need to transfer them back to the phone's memory.

Note: I am writing based on a Samsung Galaxy S smartphone. installed android 6.0.1 - so your configuration is slightly, but may differ.

If you can transfer the file to the phone's memory and the icon is back - great, if not, then delete the application and install it again, only now to the phone's memory (remove the flash drive during installation).

What is described in this section applies to third-party icons. With built-in, of course, this option will not work. How to restore them - more on that below.

How to restore icons from built-in applications if they disappeared from the desktop

The built-in icons include icons that may disappear: SMS notifications, camera, phone, menu, play market, gallery, Internet, YouTube, settings, notes, etc.

These programs cannot be removed (you can if you modify the firmware - set root rights).

They almost always disappear due to accidental movement or deletion and disappear only from the desktop, but always remain in the menu.

Therefore, if this case is yours, go to the menu (usually a white icon with nine black dots) and look for the icon in it.

Then press the icon with your finger, hold it for 2-3 seconds and then you can drag it to the desktop (it will also remain in the menu).

In some devices, the icon seems to stick to the finger, but you can’t take your finger off the screen, otherwise the procedure will have to be repeated.

In this way, you can quickly restore the missing icon - return it to its place as it was before.

What to do if the icon is gone and you can’t find it in the menu - how then to restore

Yes, sometimes the icon can not be found. Why? Because if the icons do not move apart when moving (even randomly), then a folder will be created on its own and it will fit there. For example, as in the figure below.

Then open the folder (stomp on it) and drag it to the desktop using the method described above.

ATTENTION: carefully inspect the screen of your smartphone or tablet, otherwise you may not notice the folder.

NOTE: Creating such folders is a great way to reduce the number of icons you rarely use (some have hundreds of them and you can get lost on the screen).

Missing icons - an interesting way to quickly restore

You can return the missing icons in another way - using launcher applications.

A lot of lunchers have been developed, but most of them are in haste - that's why they are buggy.

I recommend " Hola Launcher”(during the experiments, no failures were noticed). After installation appearance screen is converted (built-in will be replaced with a new one).

In this case, if the icon is gone and it is not in the list, you can create a new one. That's all. If you have any comments or solutions, drop them in the comments and we'll fix them! Let's decide! Good luck!

e). What to do and how to fix everything and return it to its place.

To begin with, it would be quite useful to figure out why, in principle, this can happen. Why, until recently, worked without problems smartphone or a tablet that, quite recently, works great a smartphone or tablet running the Android system began to give this kind of failure. For example, it is not clear where, and for what reason, applications and added programs, games, and any other content began to disappear.

The fact is that in addition to the processes visible to us, in all devices with an operating Android system, the processes responsible for the functioning of the system core itself also work. Those. - that part of Android, which is responsible for the main functionality of our gadget, and is the main component of the system. Without these, not presented to our review, but responsible for the smooth operation of the system, the functioning of the entire device as a whole is simply not possible. Absolutely everything that we download and run on our tablet e or smartphone e, can not work for a second, without constant support " working environment» - i.e. our Android system. Accordingly, the functionality and operation of each application running in the system directly depends on the stable functioning of the kernel, which, by the way, starts working as soon as you press the power button on your gadget, regardless of whether it is smartphone or tablet, if they are running the Android system, the essence of their work is based on the same.

The fact is that, over time, various kinds of system junk. It appears inevitably on any device on Android platform, either tablet or smartphone. And, periodically, it must be “cleaned out”. Therefore, it becomes more and more difficult for the system to work in a stable mode, and, therefore, “brakes”, “lags”, “glitches”, etc. appear. This can be reflected in anything - on any functions and capabilities of your tablet a or smartphone a. Figuratively, it is as if the “gears” that used to spin and interact inside the device were perfectly clean and lubricated, now everything is covered in dust and sand, and rust has gone over them. Imagine how, for example, a watch would work with such a mechanism. The same is true for the Android system. A notable feature of this kind of malfunction is that if the gadget has such problems as the inaccessibility (“disappearance”) of the application, then the same “mote” inside the system of your device, with a high probability, will create obstacles for related functions. Those. - if the camera icon is gone - do not be surprised if the Vkontakte application, or something else, will soon disappear.

And, in order for the gadget to work without such failures, it is necessary to keep its system clean and tidy. There are 3 ways to do this:

  • METHOD.1. The first one does not require any third-party programs and utilities, and is available for execution by absolutely any user. To clean all the working nodes of your gadget’s system, you need to do a “full reset” every three to four months, depending on the intensity of use. This feature is available on every Android device. It is located, as a rule, in the "settings" - "backup and reset" section - we go there, and once every few months we select the "hard reset" item (restore default settings deleting all data). However, using this functionality, you should first save all the necessary data, because after you carry out a "reset", the system will not only clean itself, but also delete all files, contacts, etc. saved on the gadget. If, however, this option is not acceptable for you, see "method 2" ..
  • METHOD.2.

Based on solving problems with communication and network reception Android phones and tablets based on the implementation of additional software. Utilities that control all processes inside gadgets. Today, there are quite a few of them, however, the fewer functions an application contains, the more, as a rule, it is effective. Best controls system functions, corrects, and corrects everything possible mistakes settings and synchronization is a small, easy-to-use, free utility for Android devices. Download the app from Google Play and watch it additional options in the description is possible. After installing the application, it remains only to launch it. Further, from you, in principle, nothing more is required. The application will take full control of the device functions. (By the way, among other things, the gadget will start charging 20% faster, and its performance will also increase significantly, which will affect the loading and operation speed of all applications, games, and the system as a whole. On average, after scanning, the system works 50% faster.)

Method 3.

Change software device, or, as it is also called "re firmware ".This method, as a rule, requires certain skills and is solved by contacting the Service Center. For the independent implementation of this task, you need to contact the manufacturer's website of your device, download the utilities necessary for the firmware and the firmware itself, and then reinstall it on your gadget.

If none of the methods brought results, unfortunately, you will have to contact Service center For repair of your tablet a or smartphone a.

Instruction

Before embarking on a drastic action to restore icons, try a few simple actions. Right-click on an empty space on the desktop and wait until context menu.

If you yourself accidentally deleted the icon, then to restore it, select "Undo deletion" from the menu that appears. Another option is to go to the "Basket" and restore the necessary icons. To do this, select the necessary one, call the context menu by pressing the right mouse button and select the "Restore" item.

Call the "Task Manager" by simultaneously pressing the Ctrl, Alt and Delete keys. On the Applications tab, click the New Task button and type Explorer.exe. Click OK.

If the problem appeared after you downloaded and installed some program, make a backup of the system (return to the state of one or several days earlier). To do this, call the "Task Manager" and run a new msconfig task. Next, start the system and specify a restore point - before installing this suspicious program. Click OK and restart your computer. This method can also help if working table there is nothing left but the background image.

Usually when icons or the Start button disappear on working table Deleting some files helps. Call "Task Manager" and run a new regedit task. Go to Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/WindowsNT/CurrentVersion/Image File Execution Options and delete the explorer.exe and iexplorer.exe files. Restart your computer. This should help you recover icons.

Helpful advice

If you just lost one or two icons from the desktop, then most likely the reason is not in the computer. Perhaps someone changed the desktop settings or simply removed the icons.

Tip 2: How to restore the trash icon on the desktop

If you accidentally deleted the Recycle Bin shortcut from the Windows desktop or any of the programs did it, then there is nothing irreparable in that - Microsoft offers at least five ways to restore the shortcut. Some of them use only the native capabilities of the OS components, others require manual modification. Windows Registry. Some of these methods are described below.

Instruction

If you are using any tweaker program that changes the appearance of the Windows GUI (for example, TweakUI), then it is very likely that the disappearance baskets is the result of her work. Try to find in the settings of this program the setting responsible for displaying baskets on working table. If you do not find it, look among the program settings for the possibility of rolling back the changes made by it.

Another way can be used in OS Windows Vista and Windows 7. Launch the control panel by opening the main menu on the Start button and selecting the appropriate item in it. Click the "Personalization" link in the panel, and in the next window click the "Change Desktop Icons" link. In the "Desktop Icons" window, check the "Recycle Bin" box and click the "OK" button.

If the previous options, go to more radical methods- making changes directly to system registry. You can do it in automatic mode if you use the official shortcut recovery wizard baskets from Microsoft Corporation. You can download this utility called Microsoft Fix it 50210 via a direct link http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9643543. After starting the program, check the box "Accept" under license agreement and click the "Next" button. The utility will make the necessary changes to the system registry and after you click the "Close" button, it will prompt you to immediately restart the computer or postpone the entry into force of the changes made until the next boot - select the option you need.

In this case, we only need to remove the non-working icon from the screen.

In some smartphones, Clear Cache is combined with the item factory reset(complete reset of the system settings or ""). If this is also found on your smartphone, then on this one, obviously, it's better to stop and completely exit the Recovery menu.

If you once turn on your desktop computer or laptop (that run an operating system Windows systems 7, 10, or XP) saw that all your desktop icons disappeared and you don't know how to get them back, this article will help you solve this problem.

There are at least a few serious and not very good reasons for this, and now we will analyze them one by one:

Function to enable desktop display.

If your desktop shortcuts are missing and not displayed, but the taskbar is fully functional,

check them out in system folder, which is called your account name. To do this, call "My Computer" by pressing the key combinations "Win + E". Next, go to the "C" drive / users / folder with the name of your account/ Desktop. And if there are at least some shortcuts there, then you have disabled the display of desktop shortcuts.

Now, in order to restore and pin the icons to the desktop, you need to right-click your mouse on an empty spot on the desktop, then hover over the "View" section, now you need to check the box next to "Display Desktop Icons".

After the manipulations you have done, all your shortcuts should return.

Important: If you did not find any shortcuts in the system folder, then this method will not return them.

Run the subroutine "explorer.exe"

Explorer.exe - executing system file, which is responsible for launching and displaying the desktop, start menu, and taskbar. But it happens that due to virus programs or simply failures in the system, explorer.exe is disabled. So you have to manually make it work. There are two ways to do this:

Through the task manager

To enable it, you will have to launch the task manager with the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl + Shift + Esc". After that, first click on "File", then from the pop-up context menu "Run a new task".

Now you just have to enter "explorer.exe" in the task creation menu and click "OK".

The startup process may take some time, on average it is 5-10 seconds.

Important: if after what was done the taskbar appeared, but it was not possible to return the icons, proceed to the execution of point "1" - the function of enabling the display of the desktop.

Using the registry

To enter the registry of your system, press the key combination "Win + R", with this action you will call the "Run" task, in which enter the regedit command and click "OK".

Important: if for some reason this fails, then turn off your PC. Now turn it on and while Bios is loading, press the F8 key, this will bring up additional boot options for your system, in which you must select the "Safe Mode" option.

Now that you still managed to start the task registry, go to the folder "Computer / HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon", now find the "Shell" parameter, open it with a double click of your mouse and, if the value line is empty, enter "explorer.exe" there. Then click "OK".

After closing the registry, all icons should return to their original place.

Recover Accidentally Deleted Shortcuts Using "Recycle Bin"

If all the icons have disappeared from the desktop, for example, you accidentally deleted them, then they can be easily restored. The fact is that all the files you deleted are stored in a temporary park, referred to as the "Recycle Bin". (For example, the program "mathcad" will be used).

And so, we find the trash icon on the desktop and open it. Next, we find the previously deleted program shortcut in it and right-click on it, calling up an additional context menu in which you need to select the “Restore” option.

Important: this method will not work if the shortcut was deleted a long time ago or the trash was emptied.

Reinstall the shortcuts you need

This method is suitable in the event that all the previous ones were unsuccessful. You just need to put a shortcut on your desktop. To do this, find the program you need in the start menu. And just drag the shortcut to your desktop.

If the start menu was not necessary program then search for it manually. You can do this in two ways:

Open the start menu and find the search command, then enter the exact name of the desired program in the required line (an example is presented on OC Windows 10). When the search yields results, right-click on the icon and select "Open File Folder".

When Explorer opens with the desired shortcut, right-click on it again, then select Send to / Desktop (create shortcut).

System Restore

This method is extreme, so if the icons disappeared and you tried to bring the shortcuts back to the desktop, but none of the methods described above helped, then you should run the system restore task. But don't worry, it's not as scary as the name might suggest. System Restore serves as a kind of rollback to your system. That is, by running this procedure, say, on the 19th, all programs that you installed after this number will be deleted from you, and any changes related to the system will also be canceled.

Important: files text documents or movies that are on your computer will remain unchanged. Only third-party programs will be removed.

And so, in order to start this procedure, open "My Computer" and right-click on an empty space. Then, from the proposed list of the context menu, select the "Properties" option.

Now that a new window has opened, go to the System Protection section.

Now you have been transferred to the "System Properties" menu, in which you need to, while remaining on the "System Protection" tab, click on "Restore".

Then the system recovery setup menu will launch.

Important: you must choose the restore point that was created before any problem appeared.

During recovery, your computer may restart several times - this is normal. The recovery itself takes up to 30 minutes maximum, it all depends on the hardware and how old the recovery point is.

Conclusion

Do not despair if your desktop icons have disappeared, after reading our article and the methods proposed in it, you can deal with the problem that has arisen. Start from the first point and to the last, because I remind you that system restore is an extreme method.

Phone icons, contacts, SMS messages and other programs could disappear from the desktop for one of three reasons.

The most common reason: icons disappear due to the transfer of programs from the main memory to the USB flash drive. This is how the icons of applications downloaded from the Play Market disappear: YouTube, viber (viber), skype, play market, flashlight.

Built-in programs: camera, sms, handset, menus, messages, galleries, settings, downloads, wi-fi and others that are in the phone "by default" after installing the OS, for this reason they cannot be lost.

Another reason– inadvertently deleting or moving an icon to another screen or section operating system.

You can move the icon of the phone, contacts, SMS messages and other programs by accident, especially often this happens when the smartphone is in the hands of a child.

The third reason moving icons to a folder previously created or which is created automatically when one icon overlaps another.

Missing icons in the flash drive.

It happens that if the Android operating system or the programs installed in it do not work correctly, such a harmless action as moving an application from the main memory to a USB flash drive leads to the loss of the program shortcut on the desktop.

To return the shortcut, the icon to its place, the reverse action helps: transferring the program from the USB flash drive to the phone's built-in memory.

You can do this in the following way. Settings - Applications - Your application - Move to phone.

If the application is already running, then there is a shorter path. Select desired program on the list running programs and hold it with your finger for 2 seconds. After that, the "Application Information" window and the "Move to phone" button will appear.

It is worth noting that this problem of losing the icon does not depend on the type of flash drive inserted into the phone, but on the "buggy" of the application installed from the Play Marketa.

Hola Launcher setup.

It also helps to solve this problem removal and complete reinstallation of the program from Play Market. It is advisable to remove the flash drive from the phone.

Programs built into the OS such as: Camera, SMS, Calls, Contacts, Gallery, Play Market, Settings, cannot be transferred to a USB flash drive and back to the phone. The shortcuts of these programs disappear from the desktop for a different reason.

Accidentally removed icons.

The icon of any main program or third-party application can always be pulled from the list of installed programs.

Expand the list of programs (button circle or square with dots), find the program you need, for example, Contacts or Handset - Calls. Press it for 2-3 seconds. The desktop will automatically open and the icon of this program will appear on it. Place the application icon in a convenient place for you.

So you can quickly restore the missing icon and put it in its old place.

The icon is in the folder.

What to do if, for one reason or another, the icon has disappeared and you cannot find its program in the application menu. This problem applies to phones that do not work on pure Android, but are made based on MIUI firmware, For example Xiaomi smartphone and similar ones.

Look for the missing shortcut in the folders on the desktop.

On the Android OS desktop, you can create folders and "throw" shortcuts to similar applications there.

Creating a folder is very easy. Drag one icon to another and drop it on the second icon. A folder will automatically be created in which there will be two shortcuts.

It is quite possible that this happened earlier, by accident. Unbeknownst to you, you yourself or someone else pointed one shortcut to another and a folder was created. Or more likely, the application icon was accidentally "thrown" into a nearby folder.

What to do, how to find the icon? You need to open all the folders that are on the desktops mobile phone and look carefully, look for the missing badge.

Note: Carefully inspect the smartphone screen, you may not notice the folder, it may look like a shortcut.

Video: Menu button, where is it? Or a video about Launcher (desktop).

Sort icons and search for them by name.

You can return the missing icons in another way, using special applications called launchers.

most famous Hola Launcher, which can be downloaded for free from the official store Apps Play market.

After installing Hola Launcher on your phone, you will be able to change the design of buttons, icons, icons and the appearance of the Android OS. But most importantly: there will be different types menus through which you can find any application, program and display its icon on the desktop.

Cons of Hola Launcher: the appearance in one place or another of advertising, which from time to time has to be closed.

Additional features of Hola Launcher: this program optimizes the performance of the operating system and allows you to quickly clean up RAM mobile device.

Young Android smartphone users often have the question posed in the title of the article. " Here was the iconPI remember where I stood, used it and suddenly it was gone. Can't make a phone call/View and send SMS/Take a photo/Go online/etc.Who is to blame and what to do?»

Consider a few typical cases.

1. You accidentally deleted either an icon or an application.

If you click on the application icon and hold your finger on it for a while (about 1 second), then it " stick to the finger, and at the top of the screen will appear shopping cart icon. If you move the icon to the trash, it will turn red and when you release your finger, both icons will disappear. As a result, the original icon will be removed. Unlike Windows, here the Recycle Bin folder does not exist in the files and it is impossible to restore an icon deleted into it.

However recover deleted icon possibly from . This menu is called up by pressing the button with the image Lattices and contains icons of all installed system and user applications.

If found in the list desired application and hold your finger on its icon, then some versions OS Android, it will also stick to your finger, and under them the image of the last desktop will appear, on which you can release the icon and it will thus be restored to it. At the same time, it will remain in its original place in the Applications Menu.

IN other versions OS when you hold your finger in the Application Menu, crosses appear on the icons, and images of all desktops appear at the bottom of the screen on a reduced scale, where you need drag icon to restore.

Be careful with crosses! They are meant for removing no longer icons, but themselves custom applications. In this case, to restore them, you will need to re-download and install the application from Google Market play.

Thus, if you can't see your missing icon even in the Application Menu, then there is two options:

  • either you uninstalled the application as I just described;
  • or you accidentally or knowingly disabled it without deleting it completely.

In the latter case look for it among disabled and include ( Settings - Application manager - Disabled tab (swipe from right to left) - Looking for an application - Enable - Reboot smartphone).

2. You accidentally moved the icon.

You probably noticed that the icon stuck to your finger can, without releasing your finger, move around the screen, changing its position and expanding other icons. When moving off screen it ends up on the next desktop. This case is typical when you accidentally held your finger on the icon longer than necessary and did not notice how it stuck and moved to the next table. So try to look for the "missing" icon on neighboring desktops.

The second case of displacement - folder creation. If the sticky icon is placed not between other icons (in this case it pushes apart them), but directly over another icon and release in this position, both icons are placed in a newly created folder named (which can be changed by tapping on it). You may also, through inexperience, fail to notice that created a folder and “lost” their icon in it. Look for folders, enter them and drag your icon back out, to your desktop, and to the desired location. By the way, folders are very handy tool to save space on your desktop. Use them consciously. See a couple of folders in the first screenshot.
