Windows. Viruses. Notebooks. Internet. office. Utilities. Drivers

Is in reducing the number of processes and tasks running. This is not surprising, because such processes and tasks consume the resources of our computer, and therefore it can slow down or freeze when we try to play a demanding game or work with complex programs. Naturally, we cannot simply close all processes in the task manager, because some of them are necessary for the correct operation of the operating system.

The processes on each individual computer may differ, because we use different programs and we have different hardware installed. However, there are a number of processes that run on every computer under OS Windows 7, and their termination, in addition to speeding up the system, will not lead to any other consequences. So, let's see what processes can disable in manager Windows tasks 7 .

First you need to open Task Manager: for this we use Ctrl+Alt+Delete . In the window that appears, click on the Processes tab. You will see a list of processes with users, so that all processes are displayed, check the box next to the corresponding item at the bottom of the window.

In the very bottom left corner of the window, you can see how many active processes are running on this moment. There are 134 of them in the screenshot. In the Memory column, you can find out how much RAM a particular process consumes.

The processes that are visible in the Task Manager fall into two categories:

  • Systemic- they are designed for the operation of the operating system as a whole, and its individual elements.
  • Custom– processes that were launched on behalf of the administrator, i.e. computer owner.

In the User column, you can see which category a particular process belongs to. You should not end processes directly from the Windows 7 Task Manager, otherwise this may lead to crashes or reboots of the operating system. If you try to terminate an important process responsible for the health of the OS, then it will either not be closed, or it will reopen after a while, about which you will receive a notification.

So, user processes in most cases need to be terminated. This category includes programs and services that have been installed by the user. However, there are some exceptions. So, if you try to close explorer.exe, shortcuts and the taskbar will disappear from the desktop.

If you don't know which user processes can be terminated in the Windows 7 Task Manager, see where is the process file. To do this, right-click on the process, and from the menu that opens, select File storage location. If it turns out that this file is in the folder Windows then its by no means can't be closed. However, there is an exception here too - if this file is malicious virus then it must be removed immediately.

Here is a list of processes that do not need to be closed:

This table lists the processes that need to be terminated (unless, of course, you don't need them at the moment):

In order to complete the process, you need to click on the corresponding button in the task manager, and after the warning window appears, confirm your action.

In this way, of course, you will close the process, but in most cases the effect will be only until the next restart of the computer. When the system is restarted, the completed process will again fall into the boot. Therefore, in order to permanently get rid of an unnecessary process, we need delete relevant program, or remove it from startup.

If you're not sure if a particular task or process can be completed, then play it safe and leave it running. After prolonged use of the computer without reinstalling the OS and cleaning programs, it accumulates a large number of absolutely unnecessary processes that slow down the system. Therefore, cleaning the task manager should be done regularly.

Even on a new computer, just delivered from the store, there are several programs that the user does not need. Of course, Windows 7 itself tries to load deeper into RAM, including some never used services. The user has never hit the keys yet, and his computer is already wasting its power on something unnecessary. We will tell you in detail in our article how to find and disable unnecessary processes, how to remove unnecessary programs without harming your computer.

Where do unnecessary programs come from on the computer

Extra programs get on the computer in several ways:

Even if there is enough space on the hard drive and a supply of RAM, unnecessary applications should be removed for security reasons. Many of them, in an effort to customize their work to the interests and preferences of the user, collect personal information and send it to their servers. Sometimes this channel becomes transparent to malicious software that can disrupt the computer as well.

Which programs and processes in Windows 7 can be removed, and which are better left untouched?

The main rule when removing unnecessary programs or services: "Know what you're doing!" Before you remove an unfamiliar program, you should figure out what it does and where it came from on the computer. The same applies to Windows services 7.

Uninstallation should take place according to the established procedure, and not through deleting the folder with the program, because otherwise the computer will be littered with the remnants of unnecessary directories, settings, bookmarks in the browser. It is very useful to create a system restore point on the eve of the “big purge”, this will allow you to cancel the results of unsuccessful work.

Without fear of negative consequences, you can disable some system services.

How to remove unnecessary programs and services

Most programs can be easily removed using standard Windows 7 tools, for others you should use special applications. Sometimes the manufacturer intentionally installs utilities that the user cannot uninstall, such as Samsung's Disable_Windowsupdate.exe. Extra services and processes can also be disabled in several ways. However, the first step before a serious cleaning of the computer should be to create a point Windows recovery 7 in case of incorrect removal of system components.

Create a restore point

  • Click the "Start" button and in the right column of the menu that opens, select the line "Computer".
  • Right-click on "Computer" and in the opened context menu find the line "Properties", select it.
  • In the large window that appears "All Control Panel Items - System" on the left, select the "System Protection" tab.
  • The System Protection tab opens with the System Properties window. At the bottom is the "Create" screen button we need.
  • The process of creating a restore point is almost completely automated. You need to come up with a name, then to identify the point, then press screen button"Create".
  • After the successful completion of the process, the system will inform us about the creation of a new point. Now, if something goes wrong, it will be possible to “roll back” Windows 7 to this place.
  • "Control Panel"

  • To access the standard uninstall service installed programs, click the "Start" button and select "Control Panel" on the right side of the menu.
  • In the large window that appears "All Control Panel Items" we find the "Programs and Features" tab and go to it.
  • By default, a large window opens with the subtitle "Uninstall or change a program", in the central part of which there is a complete list of programs installed on our computer. Select the application you want to delete with the mouse.
  • Immediately after a mouse click, active on-screen buttons appear just above the list of programs. We need a delete button. We press it.
  • Windows 7 gives us one last chance to change our minds by asking us to confirm the deletion. If the desire remains, press the "Yes" button.
  • After removing some programs, it is better to reboot, which the system will offer at the end of the procedure. You can do this later, when all unnecessary applications and services are removed.
  • "Start"

You can get to the same "Uninstall or change a program" window with a list of applications through the "Start" button, by clicking which we type "Uninstall a program" in the search bar. By selecting the menu bar of the same name, we get to the desired window, after which we act according to the already known algorithm.

You can also use the uninstaller of the program itself. To do this, click "Start", then "All Programs". In the list that opens, select desired application(some are grouped into folders) and click on it right button mice.

In the context menu that opens, we need the "Delete" line. We press it and we see the "Remove Shortcut" window pop up, warning us that by continuing in the same way, we will remove the shortcut, but will not touch the application.

Let's heed the advice and go to the active line "Programs and Features". This will bring us back to the familiar "Uninstall or change a program" window.

    "Task Manager"

  • "Task Manager" in Windows 7 is called in several ways, including the "hot" key combination Ctrl + Shift + Esc.
  • In the Services tab, you can see all installed system services, including stopped ones. Their status is visible in the Status column. Here, if desired, you can stop the running utility, for which you need to select it in the list and press the right mouse button. In the small context menu, you now need to select "Stop Service".
  • From the same tab, you can click on the "Services" button to the large window of the same name, in which there is a description of each service and buttons are provided to stop them.
  • Task Manager also allows you to view and disable running programs on your computer. The "Processes" tab shows data on running applications, their brief description and the consumption of processor and RAM resources. By clicking on the name of the extra process with the right mouse button, we open the context menu.
  • To forcibly stop the program, you must select the "End Process" item or the on-screen button of the same name at the bottom of the tab.
  • Terminating a process means stopping a particular session of a service or application, but does not affect future launches. In order for the service not to be started by the system during the next session, it must be disabled.

How to disable services using "System Configuration"

The list of services can be edited using "System Configuration", which is called from the command line.

  • We press the Win keys (with the Windows brand flag) and R. In the “Open” input line of the “Run” window that appears, we type the msconfig command.
  • Pressing the OK button opens the System Configuration window. We need the Services tab.
  • The list of services is now in front of us. To disable, just uncheck the box to the left of the name of all services to be disabled, and then click the on-screen button "Apply".

Specialized programs for cleaning the system

There are enough small programs that specialize in removing unnecessary applications. Some focus on cleaning the computer from unnecessary folders, which sometimes do not notice the standard Windows tools 7, others maintain a "black list" of advertising and installed applications looking for them on the computer. The third allows fine tuning system services.

    PC Decrapifier - blacklist cleaning

PC Decrapifier captivates with its honesty: freeing the computer from unnecessary software, it does not ask to be installed on HDD himself, but is content with launching external media. The application is free, new versions are released regularly and databases of unsolicited programs are updated. The interface is simple and intuitive. Before the start of the main stage of work, a restore point is created.

  • After downloading PC Decrapifier from the manufacturer's website, we immediately run the executable file, no separate installation is required. A welcome window prompts you to check for updates. At the first start, this is not necessary, since we already have fresh databases installed, but later this button may be needed. Press the Next screen button.
  • We go through the following standard two windows: licensed and warning, each time clicking Next.
  • PC Decrapifier asks if we have a new computer. The meaning of this question is that relatively useful, but unnecessary applications are often installed on a new computer, the list of which is constantly updated. The same programs found on the working machine are most likely deliberately installed. We put the switch to answer the question in accordance with the novelty of the computer and click Next.
  • Another preliminary step is to create a restore point. If this was not done a little earlier using the standard tools of Windows 7, we agree to the offer. Having dealt with this issue, click Next, moving on to the main stage.
  • After checking the computer, PC Decrapifier compares the list of installed programs with its "black list". Detected "uninvited guests" are collected on the next window with a proposal to delete them automatically. Here you can also read a brief description of the utilities and, if you wish, cancel their removal by unchecking the box to the left of the name.
  • Just in case, PC Decrapifier shows a list of other installed packages, indicating their publishers. Unlike the previous window, by default all the "birds" are removed, that is, the program will be deleted only at the request of the user. In addition, instead of short description interactive Help lines with information about applications are available. To add an extra application to the list for deletion, just check the box to the left of its name.
  • It remains to click on Next again, and on the next window Finish, after unchecking Submit feedback. The removal process has started.
  • Reboot, check if everything works correctly. If necessary, use the created restore point.
  • PC Decrapifier by some antivirus programs is erroneously classified as a dangerous application. This is not true, the warning can be ignored. Given that PC Decrapifier does not require installation, takes up little space and is distributed free of charge, to be sure, you can remove it and re-download it from the manufacturer's website.

    CCleaner

  • A powerful utility for cleaning your computer of unnecessary information, CCleaner is distributed free of charge, takes up little space on your hard drive, but requires installation.
  • The program remembers the storage locations of temporary files of Windows 7 itself, as well as major browsers and many applications. An intuitive interface in Russian allows you to run a system analysis to compile a list of what CCleaner considers unnecessary.
  • Uninstalling programs is located in the "Tools" tab. The program compiles a list of installed programs by activating the "Uninstall" and "Delete" buttons when a specific application is selected.
  • Here you can also edit the startup list, removing unnecessary applications from it.
  • Powerful scanning and removal of unkillable programs with IObit Uninstaller

Another free app, specializing in high-quality removal of unnecessary programs. Carefully searches for all traces of the work of the removed package and cleans them up. IObit Uninstaller allows you to create restore points before each removal, as well as forcibly uninstall "resisting" programs.

  • When you first start the program, you should uncheck the box at the bottom of the screen so as not to add unnecessary applications to your computer.
  • The application generates a list of installed programs, offering to select candidates for removal. To do this, press the on-screen button "Delete". If you need to uninstall several applications in one package, put a checkmark next to "Batch uninstall" in the upper right part of the window. Even higher up is the "Forced Deletion" tab, used for particularly stubborn apps that refuse to voluntarily delete.
  • Before clicking the button with the same name on the next window, you can create a restore point by checking the box accordingly.
  • Standard deletion is fast. Now the program offers to use its proprietary "Powerful Scan" function to search for all traces remote application.
  • The search results are presented in the next window. By default, all found elements are marked for deletion, if you want to leave something, just uncheck it. It remains to click "Delete".
  • The last traces of the deleted application have been wiped from the computer. If for some reason it is necessary to delete information with a guaranteed impossibility of its recovery, in the menu (the button to the right of the “Forced deletion” option) you can select “File Shredder”. The process will take a little longer, but sometimes it makes sense to go for such costs.
  • Other programs

    • Should I remove it? An alternative to PC Decrapifier that also keeps a list of unnecessary programs. It differs in interface (ratings are highlighted in color), as well as a constant connection with the main site. More simple, does not provide for editing autoload.
    • Slim computer. Compiles a broader uninstall list, including browser extensions and plugins. "Kills" unnecessary processes and programs.
    • AdwCleaner. Specializes in cleaning up unwanted browser elements. Generates a report as a text file.

Manufacturers and vendors of software products spend a lot of effort and money to ensure that their applications are installed on your computer. And they pay much less attention to the complete removal of their packages, and sometimes they deliberately resist this. Therefore, in order to remain the master of your hardware, you need to regularly clean it from uninvited guests.

It's no secret that in Windows systems, so many background processes and services unnecessary for the user are often activated by default that it just makes your head spin. It is quite natural that many people think about system optimization issues, since some applets load the computer resources quite heavily, which makes even user programs work very slowly. But if only that were the only thing! But often many do not pay attention to the fact that the system constantly monitors user actions, uses data about its location, updates its own components without its knowledge, etc.

    You will be interested:

Deactivating all unnecessary or unused processes without special knowledge will be very problematic. That is why it is best to protect yourself from possible incorrect actions that can lead to unstable Windows operation, and use it to disable some components special programs to disable programs and the system itself, and application components that were installed by the user, running in the background. But which application to prefer, because on the same Internet you can find many such applets, and each developer praises his own software claiming he's the best?

If your computer is running slowly and space hard drive overloaded, clean it of unnecessary programs and components, and disable unnecessary processes and services. This can be done using standard Windows tools or using third-party programs.

How to uninstall programs and disable services from the start menu

By opening the "Start", you can view the list of programs and remove some:

The disadvantage of this method is that after deleting the program by means of Windows, its files and residual entries in the registry are saved.

You can also stop services from the Start menu. For this:

Do not disable all services in a row - some of them are responsible for the correct operation of Windows.

If you want your computer to run a little faster, you need to follow RAM. The more free volume it has, the faster the operations and various other actions that the user does. It should be remembered that not only downloaded programs and open tabs browser. This includes all background processes, running services, and files reserved by closed utilities.

Now we will talk about disabling unnecessary services in Windows, and we will use a special program for this.

Easy Service Optimizer free program in Russian, using which even an inexperienced user will be able to manage services in operating system. The interface is very simple. The utility is portable, so you do not need to install it on your computer. Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10.

You can download Easy Service Optimizer from the link at the bottom of the article from Yandex Disk. After that, open the Downloads folder on your computer and run the "eso" archive.

Extract the archived folder to any convenient location on your computer.

You can also download Easy Service Optimizer from the official website. To do this, go to their page (in the screenshot below, the address is circled with a rectangle). You will find a download button called "Download" at the end of the article before the recommended entries and comments.

After extracting the "eso" folder from the archive, open it and run the file with the same name, opposite which will be written "Application".

If your interface language is selected by default (English), then click on the “Options” - “Languages” tab and select the one you need from the list.

Now let's look at how to use the program. The main window of the program will display a list of services that can be optimized. Opposite each, you can check or uncheck the box, this must be done, since the application installed settings and restoration is applied only to those marked with a bird.

It is signed at the top, which is displayed in the columns. At the bottom there are four tabs with modes. Of these, you need to choose the right one. When they are changed, the data in the column changes. "Type of application". So "By default" many services are started by the user manually or automatically, but if you select "Extreme", then almost all of them will be disabled.

You do not need to disable all services in a row, as this can lead to system malfunctions.

You can view a list of all Windows services by clicking on the button with two gears at the top.

In the program window, any of them can be edited: select it with the mouse and press the button "Edit…" up.

A window with basic information will open. At the bottom, you can set a specific launch type for each mode separately. Save changes by clicking OK.

If you understand a little what the service does, then you can select it and disable or start using the appropriate buttons.

After choosing the appropriate mode: "Safe", "Optimal", "Extreme", and mark the required fields, you can proceed to apply the settings by clicking on the button with the image of a rocket. After that, the selected services will either be disabled or started.

Since not all services are added to the list, you can do it yourself. To do this, open them all by clicking on the button with two gears, double-click on the one you need and look at its name.

Now we return to the program window again and click on the button at the top "Add New". Then enter the name that you remember, the rest of the information will be filled in automatically. Specify launch types for modes and click "Add".

To remove a service from the list, select it and click at the top "Delete Selected".

Please note that the service itself will not be deleted, it will simply disappear from the displayed list for optimization in the program. You can add it at any time using the method described above.

In order to return all settings to default, you need to click on the "Services" tab and select "Reset List".

Pick a location on your computer and name it so you can understand. In the "File type" field, leave everything as it is. Click "Save".

So you can create multiple files with various settings. To select one of them, open "File" - "Open" and click on the desired item. Next, click on the rocket icon to apply the settings to the marked services.

After disabling unnecessary services, the computer will start to work faster, this will be especially noticeable on those PCs where RAM strips with a small amount of memory are installed. Therefore, download the program Easy Service Optimizer, and it will help you solve this problem.
